Not as good as the SF location, but they sure do offer great service here. The staff was very quick and the busboys were on it with the cleaning. They seemed to take great pride in the cleanliness of the place so that’s a big plus. Ordered the Little Gem Lettuce salad which was pretty good, but not amazing. Also got the Napoletana with the cheese which was pretty good.

By far the best Pizzeria Delfina of the lot. Great service, high quality food, neighborhood following.

I have passed this place many times and tonight decided to stop in. 45 minute wait no problem I will walk over to Philz and grab some coffee and return. 45 Minutes turned into about an hour. I have noticed a trend with people bringing their children out to restaurants. No issues tonight this kid friendly place was not over burdened with a bunch of yelling brats. The reason I bring this up is that I know some people dont want to have their meal ruined by having to put up with children. On to the food, Pizza’s were excellent and Gelato was delicious. I tried the Affogato and it was decent. Would have been better if they use a better espresso no worries the gelato made up for the bitter coffee. Looks like a great place to come in the summer months when dining al fresco is pleasant. Try the Brussel sprouts they were perfect.

First, their food is soooo good. That’s why I had wanted to celebrate my birthday there. But they only take reservations till 6pm. They told me that if I call earlier in the day, they could put me on a(«high» priority list), so that when we got there at 6:30 we would not have to wait long?(They assured me of this). Well, that was BS !!! When we got there, they told us that we had to wait 45 mins!!! Seriously, that’s the«priority» list! Thank god, I always had a Plan B, which was to go next door to Buca di Beppo. Buca’s hostess worked her magic(at rush time, mind you) and was able to sit us in 15mins. Buca di Beppo saved my birthday dinner!!! So, my advice, don’t believe in Delfina’s «Call Ahead List», you’ll have to wait just as long as everyone else.

Pizza flavors and combinations are pretty great, although the crust could be done a little better and with more flavor. The salads are a little lackluster but the service has always been great. Prices are definitely up there too for the quality of the pizza, although you’ll definitely be full if you have one to yourself. Do yourself a favor and ask for the Magic Pie pizza, it’s a winner every time

This review regards take out only. I have not dined in, but assuming the salad that is take out is much poorer than the salad eat in. I could tell the quality of food on the plates versus what I received. Also the salad(which was expensive and small) did not come with bread. For the price, bread should have been included. They also would not add meat to any salad as an add on. On an unrelated good note, the red spaghetti sauce was excellent!

Pizzeria Delfina is the go to for solid quality pizza for one. The pizza is a bit expensive($ 13 for the pizza alone) but well worth the price. I say it’s good for one because it will be abit expensive for more than one person unless you two just really enjoy Italian style pizza. Make sure yo try the Risotto balls, they are my favorite in town.

It’s great to see SF restaurants expand into the Peninsula. The Peninsula is full of people who enjoy great food, so it’s only fitting that Pizzeria Delfina found itself a spot here. Just as with it’s SF sibling, the Palo Alto location is just as delicious, but doesn’t have the long wait(at least it didn’t on the day before Thanksgiving). I already knew that the pizzas are delicious, but a testament from my non-foodie friend, who had pizza twice earlier that day, Pizzeria Delfina by far had the best pizza that she had that day. I also really enjoyed the Saffron Arancini. Perfect sized bites, and a great app to share!

Best experience ever at Pizzeria Delfina! Started with the fried risotto balls(crispy and delicious!), then had roasted Brussels sprouts that were super light and covered in Parmesan, and the topper was the Burrata pie! OMG!!! You need to come if even just for that!!! And last but not least, Kyle at the bar, is phenomenal at his job and had great recommendations on the menu. Thanks for giving us an amazing experience!

We walked in to get some food a blistery cold night and the hostess gave us the choice of bar or patio since the inside tables had a 20 minute wait. We opted for the bar. Prerused the menu and I immediately gravitated towards the porchetta sandwich that was a handwritten special. I asked the bartender for specifics… ie was it made from a pork loin wrapped with pork belly? Did it come with crunchy pork skins? I got conflicting answers from the two bartenders but in the end, I was reassured that this was a very popular sandwich and people loved it. So I ordered the sandwich. When the waitress brought out my dinner, it was clearly NOT a sandwich. Let’s review the definition of what a sandwich is. Webster defines it: sandwich noun sand·wich \san(d)-wich, sam-; dial saŋ-\ : two pieces of bread with something(such as meat, peanut butter, etc.) between them : two or more cookies, crackers, or slices of cake with something between them I told the waitress I was expecting a sandwich and was not expecting a wrap. She then snarked back at my stating that«Oh. we don’t like calling it a wrap so we call it a sandwich.» SERIOUSLY!!! What would happen if a seafood restaurant served cocktail shrimp in lieu of lobster on the menu and said«oh we don’t like calling it cocktail shrimp so we call it lobster!?» I clearly DIDNOT receive a sandwich. It was mediocre at best. It was just sliced pork, tossed in a chimichurri sauce that had had remnants of the memory of the traditional herbs used in making porchetta, it had some pieces of rough chew chicharrones in there, nothing like a good crackle of well roasted crispy pork skin. And to add insult to injury, the pickled onions were pickled onion skins. Like inedible plastic-y onion skins that the prep cooks were too lazy to peel before the onion met its fate with the mandolin and vinegar. Please. Don’t bait and switch. And please. Offer to rectify the situation. Waitress didn’t offer solutions. Both bartenders didn’t offer solutions. It was edible. It was pretty decent, but seriously. If I wanted a wrap, I would have gone to a restaurant that served wraps. I ordered a sandwich expecting a sandwich. Please don’t mislead the diners. That is extremely disappointing. We also had the napoletana pizza which was well cooked and would have garnered this a solid 4 star review if we had stuck to the pizzas. I guess I learned my lesson. The name is Pizzeria Delfina. I should stick with the pizzas and not veer off ordering random stuff off of the menu.

In short, they’ve met the quality expectations for food compared to the SF locations, but the front of house needs some real work. The arancini and pizza were excellent; very tangy tomato sauce, nicely spicy red pepper flakes, creamy mozzarella, and a well seasoned crust. Our pizza was a tiny tiny bit blackened in places, but I don’t mind that at all. The real problem was the board outside they use to track the waitlist. We had called asking about the wait, and the hostess was kind enough to offer to put our name down so we wouldn’t have to wait longer. Great! We show up 10 minutes later … and our name isn’t on the list. It looked like someone had sloppily erased our name and put their own. Is that the restaurant’s fault? No. Could they do something smarter than a chalkboard outside? Yes. I went inside to check with the hostess(a different one from the lady I had spoken to on the phone) on what could be done, and she told me it was no problem and that they’d seat me shortly. Great! Shortly turned into 15 minutes with her walking around frantically and trying not to make eye contact with me. Finally, a couple spots opened on the bar, and I promptly sat down after making sure it was open seating with the bartender. I never saw or heard from the hostess again. The only redemption for the service were the bartenders, they were both very courteous and attentive. Kudos to them for making our dinner better. So please Delfina, fix the silly hustle and bustle of your front of house and I’ll definitely be back!

Not as good as the SF location, but still one of the better Palo Alto options. The pizza is of course great… just get whatever looks good to you. Their meatballs are truly special! LOVETHEM!!! Tip: On a nice night, definitely sit on their great patio.

I’m a little torn, maybe 3.5 stars for Delfina at this location. I’ve had both good and mediocre service, food at times has been a little off, and other times pretty good. Maybe a little inconsistent is the bottom line. Agree the pizzas can be good, if not burnt. The limited pastas and other entrees are usually good, depending on what’s on the menu. This location just seems to be a tad off compared to sister locations in the Fillmore and Mission SF. Just the same, lively because it’s so busy during the later half of the week and weekends. Something about a line out the door and waiting list, just the anticipation then finally getting a table feels like a dining win.

The newest Delfina shop to open in the Peninsula, after the Burlingame addition. It has the same causal atmosphere, with good pizzas, and of course, a decent sized line at certain times. We changed it up a bit and ordered the arancini, and it did not disappoint! It was quite a big serving, so it’s best shared amongst multiple people. As for the pizza, it didn’t disappoint — and actually was better than the ones we had in Burlingame. The crust was chewy and delicious, and the toppings were fresh. It’s still not the best in the peninsula(I have my favourites ;), but it’s pretty damn close at this point. Definitely can’t complain about all the SF restaurants opening up shop closer to me ;)

I’ve heard so many great things about this place and was excited to try it out. It’s definitely on the more authentic Italian pizza side, which was a nice change. We got the belfiore burrata, which also came with arugula, crostini, and olive oil for the starter– it was really good and there was a lot of burrata on that plate! For the pizza, we ordered the panna, which was also good! The crust is very. crusty haha. Would I come back? yes! I want to try more pizzas

Pizza Delfina is better than a typical pizza stop, a great place to grab a bite and socialize. What I like: — Breadsticks for appetizer are fun and tasty. — Thin crust pizza with an ability to add an egg to it, New York style! — Polite service, waiters are good here most of the time. — Lively vibrant atmosphere of a young hip place. — Black board to put your name onto. — Beautifully decorated seating room. — Spacious outside sitting/patio area. What I like less: — This place is usually packed, so plan for a long wait list if visiting during the peak hours. — The menu is getting pricier: The basic pizza is $ 13, pizza with a topping is $ 16 – 18, half a chicken is $ 18 with literally just arugula leaves. If ordering a drink you are looking at $ 20 per person. Overall good experience.

I’ve been here twice for lunch and had decent experiences both times. I’d definitely recommend sitting outside because the sun is nice and they also have some shaded part so it’s not overly sunny. Service is fast and friendly. Their menu is actually pretty big and has a good variety of items. I’ve had a couple different salads and appetizers — all were made with really fresh ingredients and you can tell this place uses good quality produce. For pizza I’ve tried the salsiccia, margherita, funghi, proscuitto, broccoli rabe, and clam pies… I think the clam one was a little weird but I really like the funghi and broccoli rabe ones. The crust is nice and thin so it’s not too heavy, but still filling. Overall, a pretty decent place for lunch but nothing overly special about it.

I’ve been here for lunch two times and both times have been awesome! Staff is always super friendly and attentive and go out of their way to make sure you’re happy. I judge pizzerias on how well they make a margherita pizza. Was not disappointed. At all. The crust was crispy and chewy at the same time and had the slight sour taste that I love love love! Also had the burrata — so good! And drinks were always on point as well The outdoor seating is a great area(I’ve never sat indoors), and they have tons of umbrellas if it’s too sunny! My favorite pizza in the South Bay!

What… only 3 ½ stars? Man, tough crowd. I’m very particular when it comes to pizza. I like them thin and crunchy, yet soft and chewy in the right places, not drenched in sauce but has just enough to blend with all the other textures. Bonus points for when the cheese is stringy and wants to get romantic with me. Pizzeria Delfina is all of the above and then some with their exceptional customer service to top it off. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time on Unilocal; it actually makes a difference. When we got there, a couple ahead of us were seated and when I checked in with the waitress about my reservation, she said they had a special table reserved for us because we made the ressie ahead of time and didn’t give it away. Love…

I’m very glad Pizzeria Delfina expanded to Palo Alto. This is possibly one of the best places to get pizza! It is just as good as the mothership location in SF. Must get their infamous MARGHERITA pizza! Hope you give this place a try. Cheers!
