Nice atmosphere! Excellent service! Good location in Palo Alto. You get courtesy Brazilian fried plantains and cheese breads right after you seat in the table. The buffet is full of options. We had 7 rodizios(all you can eat meat). We had no problem as to neither getting the meat to our table nor being asked the way we like it cut or cooked. We’ve got to try all the selection, more than once. Their caipirinha is pretty good too. At any point they forced us to leave after we’ve had all the meats.

Had dinner here recently. A little treat from our sales representative. I don’t get to have read meat that often, so was excited to eat here. I can’t believe how fast I got full. With the salad bar and the never ending slices of meat. I hope to come back soon!

Host took 5 minutes to acknowledge us when I arrived. He was too busy chatting with the cleaning crew. Attitude of the server was not good and he was very disinterested in his job. Food took 45 mins to come out even though there was no one else in the restaurant and then we were basically ignored until we were done. Food was good but very small portions. I can’t recommend this place.

Kyle took excellent care of our party of 19! Fun and generous place to eat and celebrate. We of course all opted for AYCE. Sirloin, lamb and pineapple were my favorite! However, all the swords of meat were absolutely delicious. Juicy, succulent and well season meat! The side salad bar was yummy as well. Loved the coconut sweet potato and arugula with chumichuri!

Great meats, we go there once in a while to load up. Would have been a 5-star review, except they don’t seem to have changing tables for the little ones. Surprising.

Pampas was a pleasant experience. It was my birthday and I had made reservations for pampas for my fiancé and I. First impression when u arrive is loud. It was very very loud. I wish it was a little more private and quiet. we sat down and we kind of just looked around … Finally after about 5 mins our server came and explained the menu to us. We went with the rodizio(if that’s how u spell it?) The sides bar was delicious! There was plenty of choices but I didn’t feel like it looked too fresh. There was mash, green beans, salami, 4 – 5 different types of cheese, ect.

We went there for Saturday night dinner at 5:00pm with a reservation. The place had just opened and so many empty tables. By the time we left at 7:00pm the place was full. I suspect reservations are needed. Parking is possibly a challenge. It is on Alma right near University in Palo Alto. Downtown parking in Palo Alto is always a challenge. However, two doors dow there is a public parking garage. We went in and found a parking place in about 2 minutes… easy. There were a few other empty parking spaces available as well. I would try this parking garage first, as there really isn’t any space in front of the restaurant. Ambiance was sort of neutral. It is quite a nice upscale establishment with wood floors and railings. Very attractive. There is not one bit of wall décor that I remember seeing. It is noisy once the place fills up and the establishment might benefit by somethings to dampen the noise. Service was quite good. Everyone was friendly and nice. I saw a few smiles. Ahhhhh…the food. BEHUNGRY!!! We all had the all you can eat meat and salad bar plus 2 desserts(for 3 people). It was a LOT of food. There are like 9 different kinds of meat, and a really nice salad bar. The salad bar was upscale with expensive ingredients like hearts of palm and huge shrimp. All of the meat choices were delicious. Without exception. They were seasoned and so need for salt or pepper and they weren’t even on the table. I didn’t need either as all the food is seasoned. The desserts were really good. We had peanut butter cup and the flan. Both were excellent. Price was $ 80/person including tip for 3 all you can eat meat/salad bar, 2 beer, 1 coke, 2 dessert. Expensive? A bit. But, it is upscale place and all-you-can-eat. There were two further points about this place: 1) No blended drinks from the bar. Because of noise issues they do not have a blender. 2) It takes a long time to eat here. Plan on a 2 hour meal if your going the all-you-can eat route. Remember they come to the table so there is waiting involved. I would come back here. I would make the effort. It was a good place, even though I feel like I am going to explode from so much food.

They screwed up our order and I ended up not even eating anything. They still charged us even though we had to wait an hour to not eat. It just seems ridiculous that a restaurant that charges so much would treat their customers like this. I do not recommend that anyone try this place. They will try to steal from you like they did from us. We left with a sour taste in our mouth and the whole experience put a damper on our night. We will definitely not return to this restaurant. The manager was rude and never apologized to us. We could have gotten better service at a mcdonalds.

I’ve been here I would say 6 — 7 times as this is my favorite Brazilian restaurant. I have gone to Espetus in San Mateo and in Santana Row but I still favorite Pampas. Last time I was here in February I did have a bit of a negative experience, The waiters were not as attentive and they did not come around with all the meats. I did not get any lamb or pork meat at all until we were about to leave. Even when I asked the waiter if we can have a slice of the roasted pineapple at the end to finish the meal he did not come through. We waited for 10 minutes and then left. I will not give this place a bad review based on one bad experience out of 7. I will be dining here again this Saturday. If the problem persists then I will change my review.

This may be one of the best brazilian ayce places. The reason I say this is because they don’t oversalt their meats. Each meat was moist, tender and just right. Sure, there are some preferences, but overall it was great. The cheese bread and appetizers were good as well. The meats just kept coming. The salad bar, albeit small looking, is very well stocked with the expected varieties. It doesn’t have cooked dishes that I saw compared to other places. This is fine though.

After having dropped in few months back after being in the area, I somehow decided I really wanted to try the Rodizio at Pampas. I mean, all the meat. What’s not to love? The honey kept refusing because he feels he needs at least 24 hours notice to take on buffet style eating, so I made sure to properly warn him this last weekend and he finally agreed! When we arrived they let us know we only had the table for an hour and a half — which we appreciated, but others may want to take note of and make reservations if they want to stay for longer. Our Rodizio itself was absolutely mouthwatering. Each waiter was incredibly polite and told us a bit about the meat before waiting to see if we wanted any. My personal favorite was the turkey wrapped with bacon, but each spit roasted selection was divine — plump, juicy, and bursting with the perfect flavors to make that dish sing! I was a huge fan of their side bar as well, and found the carrots and the olives a distinctly enjoyable touch! We had a wonderful dining experience at Pampas and will most definitely be back. If I can convince the honey, that is ;D

Made a reservation for a dinner via OpenTable and received a call to confirm 24 hours prior to dining. Table was ready upon arrival although was somewhat surprised that the restaurant was merely 25% full on a weeknight… $ 49/person for the Rodizio which included unlimited meats and salad bar. The salad bar was quite extensive and featured lots of fresh vegetables, cured meats, including smoked salmon! Waiters came by with cuts of meat. Favorites included the leg of lamb, pineapple, and top sirloin. Some of the meats came out dry, including the filet mignon… Staff was attentive and friendly. $ 68/head after tax and tip for dinner.

I can’t even say I have experienced better since I didn’t have a good time at Fago on Santana Row either. But Fago did lead me to want to try Pampas. I came with a party of 8. Any party of 6 or more gets charged an 18% gratuity. There is also a cake cutting fee of $ 2 per slice. So heads up with that if you plan to bring your own cake! Ladies, please beware of their slippery floors. If your shoes do not have thick treading, you will slip. I have mixed emotions about our experience. Our waiter was attentive but only came by 4 times. One of the meat servers also spilled water on one of us and then also spilled a mixed drink on the same person soon after. If you are wondering if this led to a comp or complimentary replacement drink for free, it didn’t. For a $ 46 dinner, you would think Pampas could have at least removed the spilled drink. They definitely had nice meat cuts my favorites were the bacon wrapped turkey, top sirloin, and the rib eye. Absolutely scrumptious! Their complimentary cheese bread was also really good and definitely better than Fago’s in my opinion. It tasted a bit like cheddar to me. Their salad bar offered various things. There was hardly any prosciutto out and the corn ears were flying. I did feel that Fago’s salad bar was better. In a perfect world I’d have Pampas meats but Fagos salad bar. Large parking structure right behind the restaurant.

My boss set up a team dinner here last week. They had a section upstairs that was mostly ours since we took up a majority of the tables. Upon seating, I was directed downstairs to the salad bar. There was all kinds of different salads and vegetables to choose from, which I loved! They had a nice spread: beets, palm of hearts, asparagus, cheeses, potatoes, etc. I tried not to load up since I knew they were going to come around with the meats. They have every cut of meat, of any animal. I don’t like gamey meats so I stuck to the more traditional meats like chicken and steak, which were great. Except, one slice of the sirloin was very much on the bloody side which I wasn’t a fan of. However, most of the world prefers their steak medium rare. The grilled pineapple was amazing! They were a little stingy on cutting that! I asked for another slice and it still wasn’t fulfilling for me. Perhaps they do that on purpose so I could order dessert? Their desserts here are amazing! My co-workers had the peanut butter cup and the cheesecake. I went with the chocolate torte which was also delicious! It came with some ice cream and maple bacon! The size is pretty big compared to some other fancy restaurants where the portions are tiny. Their desserts are definitely shareable between 2 people. The service here was good. I felt like there was constantly someone asking me if I wanted something. They didn’t really pay attention to the«red» or «green» buttons on the table. Overall, I liked this place. I think I may like this spot better than the other Brazilian steakhouse on Santana Row. This one had the grilled pineapples and a better salad and veggies spread. Also, the desserts were yummy! I’d come back here, but only when I don’t eat all day. And when I haven’t had meat in a while… As far as price, I believe it was about $ 75 per person with food, drinks and dessert. Not sure if gratuity was already included yet?

I’m extremely disappointed with pampas. Don’t waste your calories, time and money with this place. We came here with reservations for 9 people and we all had the full on meat buffet at $ 50.00 per person. There really wasn’t a lot of variety on the meats(considering other places have game, lamb, pork and some seafood). It’s 4 different cuts of beef, 1 – 2 kinds of sausages, 2 kinds chicken, turkey bites wrapped in bacon and pineapple. There must’ve been pork at some point, but they never came by our table. Everything kinda tasted the same. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you have a big party as they charge you 18% «horrible service fee». We were there celebrating my dad’s birthday and had asked if they could do a birthday dessert of some kind. Our server said, «we don’t give anything for free here.» ok rude. They also don’t tell you that there is a $ 2.00 per person cake«cutting» fee if you bring you own cake and cut it yourself. Even though we paid almost $ 600.00 for dinner and $ 80.00 for their«service fee,» they couldn’t do anything at all to make my dad’s birthday dinner special. A simple scoop of ice cream and a candle would’ve been fine. This place has horrible customer service. Since we were sat downstairs, the rotation of meats took much longer. We had to ask our server 5 times if we can get more chicken and waited at least 15 minutes for freaking chicken. Lame. Side bar was mediocre and even the cheesy breads they brought to our table were cold, which makes the bread hard and gummy. I really wanted to like this place, but it is so not worth the $$$ for lame food and horrible customer service. Seriously, if you pay that much for food, the least they can do is provide good customer service and try to make you feel like you’d want to come back, not pampas! They nickel and dime you for everything. I’m so not coming back here. THISPLACESUCKS!

Stopped by dinner. Street parking was ok. Expensive as hell but delicious meats. The only exception was the filet minion covered in parmesan which we felt was overdone and chewy. The buffet area had a decent selection of vegetable dishes. Great ambiance and great staff. Our waitress was spot on perfect and friendly. We got seated in the downstairs area which we liked because it was a lot quieter since it seemed enclosed.

Came here today for the first time in 8 years. The last time I was here, the food and service were very good. Either I remember it wrong, or the food and service have both gone far downhill. For starters, they have an extremely loud fax machine that was trying to send a fax for the entire time I was there. Every few minutes I would hear an extremely loud ringing, and then every few seconds a BEEEEEEEEEPBEEEEEEEEEP. Extremely annoying. Who uses fax machines anymore anyway? Our waiter was very unfriendly, slow, and inattentive. He did not offer to explain any of the menu items or even take drink orders. He acted as if he was half asleep the entire time. Around 25 minutes after placing our orders, we asked when our food is coming. There was only one or two other parties in the restaurant so no excuse for the service being so slow. He said that the food takes 15 minutes to come out. No acknowledgement that we’d already waited 25 minutes. Some time later he brought out our mixed grill platters. Did not explain what any of the items are. Did not refill our drinks until I walked around the restaurant to find him and asked for refills. The meat was a very chewy and low quality cut of meat. It was hard to even cut into it. It was not seasoned at all. We had 3 platters of meat but everyone’s was cooked different, some being cooked medium and some medium rare. The chicken was dry. To add insult to injury, for a party of 6, they added an 18% gratuity onto the check, which is around 17% more than our waiter deserved. $ 30 to do what exactly? And why is it mandatory for such a small party?

I came here for a group dinner. I was a little worried as I would not describe myself as a big meat fan. I considered doing an entrée but decided to be a lemming and opt’d for the rodizio. Best. Decision. O.M.G. — the beef/lamb was fantastic. Seriously, the meat was so tender and tasty. The waiters walk around slicing the meat off the kabob and it nearly jumped into my mouth. Our waiters did offer some other meats that i declined as I wanted to save room for the beef and lamb. The side bar was a pleasant surprise however I had the notion I was going to a salad bar. I do wish there were some smaller bowls so I could loaded up on the sauces. The Chimmichuri sauce is at the side bar — try it on the meat. So good.

Went here for NYE dinner. It was awesome. Parking wasn’t a problem on this evening, everyone must have been prepping for a night out on the town… Dinner was perfect! A ton of different meats, had to use the pause button a few times as we just couldn’t keep up. Our favorites were the bacon wrapped turkey. What an awesome combo. The salad bar was equally great. Lots of hot and cold items to choose from and complimented the wide selections of meats. I’d go here more often, but I’d prefer not to buy bigger jeans. It’s good!

I came here for dinner at 6pm on a Sunday. There was street parking and a garage within walking distances. This place was pretty busy even for a Sunday. There was a downstairs and an upstairs to sit. We sat at the ground level between two parties. Our waiter was informative and friendly. We decided to all do the Rodizio and side bar($ 46). The side bar had food like mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and others. We had a green and red card on our table to indicate whether to keep the meat coming or to stop. It was left on the green side for the entire time we were there. There were a lot of different kinds of meats. I liked the top sirloin and the filet mignon. The roasted pineapple was good and definitely a must have if you like to try to balance your meal from having just meats. This place was good and wouldn’t mind coming back.

Perfect place for a group dinner! For $ 46, you get all you can eat meat and salad bar with their rodizio. First and foremost… those cheese balls! Those delicious, puffy, complimentary cheese bread balls are divine. Careful though… and don’t fill yourself up on these before the main attraction. Favorite cuts were: 1. Top sirloin — perfectly tender and juicy! 2. Lamb — I like how the lamb is in big chunks, and super tender! 3. Grilled pineapple — granted this isn’t meat… but it’s so juicy and sweet! Compared to other Brazilian rodizio places, I’d say that Pampas definitely has the best meat selection. However, i thought their salad bar was a little lacking. No matter… the meat’s most important anyways!

Here at a company Holiday party where we are paying thousands of dollars for cocktails and appetizers. Went to grab some salad and dressing at the bar with the waiters’ permission. One of the ladies that worked there(most likely the manager) grabbed my plate away in front of my coworkers, telling me that’s unacceptable and embarrassed me in front of everyone. I understand if she approached me and gave me an explanation that it was wrong and not included in our cocktail hour, but very rude of her to literally grab my plate out of my hands and walk away with such an offensive tone. Never coming back, such a shame since I was really looking forward to spending time with my coworkers. This is the first bad review I’ve written on Unilocal but I’ve never been so offended trying to enjoy food and company…

Tried the dinner once, Rodizio with side bar and thought it was fantastic! The meats, side bar, and service was amazing. I really, really enjoy the grilled pineapples! Love the side bar too but didn’t wan to fill up on that! Love and appreciate that you can either go rodizio style(unlimited) or order whatever you like instead! Came back here recently for lunch and it was a no go! The service was super slow, hello, its lunch and I don’t have 2+ hours… My coworkers and I had to flag down any staff to get water refills and the tab. Lunch: Seafood Ceviche — a bit on the sour side Empanadas — chorizo and tasty chimichurri Filet Mignon Skewer — best lunch plate in my opinion, filet mignon was so tasty but the chimichurri sauce on this plate doesnt compare the the empanadas! Skirt Steak — steak and fries, it was alright Baby Back Ribs — all the fellas loved this one, moist and tasty!

Meat, meat, meat, meat… This place is a meat lover’s paradise. It’s great for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, or just to celebrate in general. At roughly $ 50 per person for dinner, you can definitely get your money’s worth pretty easily assuming you 1) aren’t a vegetarian or 2) didn’t eat directly before visiting. The meat is all of very great quality and the service is spectacular. Pampas also offers an impressive side bar full of vegetables, salads, cheese, and other types of dishes. I tend to avoid the side bar and just stick with the parade of meat, as well as the complimentary bread and fried banana. My rodizio favorites include the top sirloin, the NY strip, the tri tip, the skirt steak, the turkey wrapped in bacon, and of course the grilled pineapple. But it’s definitely worth trying out EVERYTHING they have at least once to figure out what you like the most. You can always request certain items by asking one of the staff. And don’t even think about missing out on dessert! Even if you feel you might explode, look into the peanut butter cup(~$ 9). It’s glorious.

This steakhouse only offers rodizio for dinner. Others around San Jose and South Bay usually offer it for lunch. This is my second favorite brazilian steakhouse(Espetus coming in first). Some of the meats are poorly seasoned(too much salt) but I love the way they season their chicken hearts. All of the waiters and men with the meats are so generous with the servings. Our waiter kept our plate of cheese breads and glasses of water filled at all times. The servers who brought the meats out let me have the whole serving of chicken hearts that was on the stick(not to mention it came out super fresh). My other favorite part of this restaurant is the salad bar. I love their creamy citrusy pasta that they offer.

My friends and I came here for Happy Hour and this place didn’t disappoint. I want to come back from their full dinner, because they did a fantastic job on their happy hour options. Pampas does happy hour from 5−7PM weekdays and gives you a handful to signature drinks, house wines, and crafts at happy hour pricing. We enjoyed two carafe’s($ 26 dollars each) of their white sangria(delicious!!!) and it was plenty for the four of us. I also enjoyed their happy hour sliders which were filling and flavorful. These don’t come on small buns, but their signature cheese cornbread balls and they add flavor and a heartiness to the dish. Other good happy hour options are their tacos and meatballs. Both are flavorful and filling. Their bar area is small and fits only about 30 for seating. If you want to make sure you have an area for a group, it’s best to get there early. I also saw some«reserved» signs on some of the tables, so calling ahead and working with the venue might be a good idea of you have an event you want to plan at this location.

Was excited to try this place out for my birthday and hoping it would be better than my experience at Espestus but Espestus is still my favorite. They had great choices for AYCE meat but the meat was very salty… And some were very dry too. So disappointing. The big party next us was so loud, I can barely enjoy my dinner. Sigh I had said that it was a special birthday dinner but I was placed in a room with big party that was screaming their ass out. Whats worse is that I had mentioned under Special Accommodations when I made a reservation that we are celebrating a birthday, but nothing special came out. Just the check. They do not give complimentary dessert!!! I am paying $ 50 per person and did not slightly feel special on my birthday. If I want an ordinary dinner I would go to Cheesecake factory and spend way less. $ 50 and I felt like I was eating a $ phở restaurant. Espetus gave us a nice dessert on my anniversary by surprise! I would not recommend this place at all. Full of regrets! Go to Espestus!

This place never fails. Party of 3. Reservations made for 6:45 pm last Saturday, 10÷03÷15. This is my 2nd time. Arrived around 6:25 and checked in. The staff was very polite and attentive. Host asked if we wanted to seat early but we said we’d wait as I waited for the rest of my party to arrive. Walked to the bar and ordered myself a «House Cabernet.» The ambience was great. A jazz band just arrived and were setting up. Not long they began playing. Rest of the party arrived. And although we passed our reservation time of 6:45, the host gladly walked us to our table. Everyone in our party chose the«Rodizio»($ 46 per person) which is their signature Brazilian buffet. That option allowed for us to eat as much salads while servers comes around to offer you the following: linguica, turkey tails, spiced chicken, pork loins, trip tip, and sirloin steak just to name a few. Also served is roasted pineapple. I believe the pineapple helps as the acidic breaks down the digestive system which allows you to keep eating or at least NOT feel so blotted. IMPO. The salad bar was amazing. Many options here! The salad bar appeared kept and no items appeared mixed or scattered. The asparagus, beets and the sauteed mushrooms were delicious. All items appeared fresh and readily prepared. Not one container were left empty for a long time. Upon returning to your table you are initially served with a deep fried breaded plaintain(fried bananas) and some kind of cheese bread. Then the various servers comes around offering you various grilled or roasted meat from skewers. Linguica, pork loins, turkey, spice chicken, sirloin steaks, skirt steaks and trip tip. The red meats come juicy. Not dry at all. I definitely enjoyed the sirloin. Made medium to your picking. As the server comes by he gives you the option to pick your cut. OMG the beef they offer just juicy and succulent!!! On your table is a circular pampas sign in red/green which you are to display. Red: «STOP» or no meats at the moment. Green: Bring the meats on! Servers were polite and attentive. The kept our water glass topped off. No room for dessert. Coffee is how we ended our evening there. The ambience was great. PAMPAS don’t dim their lights which I’m ok with because it allows me to see everything. The jazz band was good. The music wasn’t overbearing or too loud. The restroom was kept although for such an establishment you would think there would be more stalls or urinals. Regardless, I was here to eat! I highly recommend this place. Great place to bring a date or bunch of family /friends. Will return. And although my intent is for the buffet, I will try the individual dishes. However even at $ 46 per person, you really are getting an awesome meal. This ain’t no Circus Circus /Sizzler buffet here! Good luck! Enjoy!

Brazilian BBQ… you know the drill. Meat on a stick, continuously served until you turn that green to red. The Rodizio, that is($ 46). Plus salad bar. But who goes here for the salad. The signature meat at Pampas is the Sirloin — soft and tender, and bloody. With its salty taste a pure delight. They also serve you the Tri-Trip, Skirt Steak, Filet Mignon(my favorite!), Lamb, Lemon Chicken, and Chicken Hearts, for those who like it. The salad bar is alright — not overly extensive, I preferred the non-veggie section of the buffet: mashed potatoes and gravy. A little off-putting was the service — while the waiters were friendly, the meat came out very slow. Our table asked several times for the Sirloin without anything to happen(instead they were serving the Sirloin to other tables and kept ignoring us). Not good. Definitely would not have happened at Espetus, which I’ll return to next time I’ll go for Brazilian BBQ.

This was our first experience at the Brazilian steakhouse. We went out tonight with a group of friends. We had called last minute for our reservation and when we arrived we were quickly seated. We had the AYCE with sidebar. I really enjoyed the combination of dishes they had in the sidebar especially the garlic green beans and mango salad. We received cheese puff biscuits and fried banana. These were hot fresh and pretty good. The servers quickly come around with different meat but sadly to say I think I had higher expectations since I am paying $ 47 a person. The group pretty much agreed that skirt steak and top sirloin were the best, which were cooked perfectly to a medium rare. The chicken drums were juicy and I like the outside seasoning The tri tip and lamb chop on the other hand were over vastly overcooked and the leg of lamb was not as flavorful as I hoped it would be. The pork loin was definitely overcooked as it was very dry, didn’t go for seconds on that one. The famous chicken hearts they had were a hit and lived up to the hype, by far an unexpected little gem. Before our friends arrived we started at the bar. The Cocktails were a bit pricey as they average $ 12, but the drink selection was plentiful and the scene was elegant and well put together. Overall I feel that the service was excellent and the waiters were very cordial, but in the end I was hoping to get all the meat cooked perfectly to my liking. Maybe too critical of me but this place is pricey and the atmosphere does give off that preppy vibe.

I don’t understand how this place gets all the raved reviews. I love meats and I’ve tried multiple AYCE Brazilian steakhouse and Pampas is not my favorite. We were seated at the basement level and not all the meats came our way. I saw sausages, pork meats and pinneaple on the top floor when I went to the salad bar but they never came to the basement. We asked our server to check on those and finally towards the end some other meats came down. Maybe if you sit on the main floor you get better selection if meats. Salad bar: Plenty to choose from. I am glad to see they have fruit salad consisting of mangoes and pinneaple. Go easy on the salad bar and fill up with the meats! The meats: The meats are kinda bland I had to ask for salt and pepper. They do give you some kind of tamarind sauce on the table for you to dip. I asked for medium for my meat and I got rare and well done(dry) :(Fogo de Chao in Santana Row has better meats selection at lunch! Service: Service is excellent which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Summary: My Brazilian Steakhouse AYCE rankings: 1. Texas de Brazil(none in bay area) 2. Fogo de Chao 3. Pampas 4. Espetus
