We had a burst hot water pipe in the guest bathroom in January, 2015 while in NYC. 4 – 5 days later PA Utilities decided there was an «unusual» amount of water being consumed and shut down our water. When we returned home several days later, we found all wood floors warped and the bottom 1⁄3 of every wall damaged. My first call, after our insurance broker, was to Jared. Jared had renovated our home when we purchased it in 2012 and had a positive experience at that time. Here is what Jared did for us: 1. Supervised the third party company drying out of the house. 2. Prepared a detailed reconstruction proposal for the insurance company which was accepted by the insurance co. dollar for dollar after my $ 5K deductible. 3. Recommended the third party suppliers for our re-flooring and fixtures. All of whom were excellent. 4. Completed the renovation on time. 5. The house with the furniture replaced back into the house is better than before. The quality of the work is first rate, quite luxurious. 6. Attended to punch list items in a timely manner. 7. And, most important of all, was always reachable by text, email and telephone in real time. Weekends included. Enough said. Steve Gleit

Jared Wilcox built our dream home for us in Menlo Park 7 years ago. He was wonderful to work with during the entire process and completed a large(5700 sq. ft.) quality home on time and under budget. What impressed me the most was how organized he was and he knew, to the penny, where the budget stood at all times. If I had a question or concern he always got back to me right away. He and his crew were at the job site every single day and, the one day they couldn’t be there, was because he and the crew had stayed until 10:30pm the night before pouring all the concrete for the basement and foundation. The concrete had to sit for 24 hours before anyone could work on the site. Of course we hit a few snags during the construction but, Jared always had a way to fix whatever the problem was so that we were happy. Since then, Jared has stood by his work and if we ever had a problem(there were very few) he was happy to come by and take care of the issue. Last year my husband and I had the opportunity to build an investment house in a neighboring town. Jared was the only contractor we considered and, once again, Jared is building a quality home on time and under budget. Jared Wilcox is the only contractor I would ever consider working with in Menlo Park.

I’m shocked to see the negative review. We’ve built several houses in CA and outside and had a very positive experience with Jared and his team. We did a whole house from basement up and Jared was extremely responsible, always punctual, willing to listen and go the extra mile to satisfy our desires. His prices were fair, he was open, honest when things didn’t happen as anticipated(as they do in a construction project), he treated our money like this, his bookkeeping/paperwork was exceptional and he successfully helped us navigate the nuances of working with a construction loan/bank. He has strong partnership skills and worked well with our architect, designers and landscapers that we hired as well as with our City personnel. At the end of the day, I always felt Jared had our best interests at heart and he created a beautiful, well built home that we love. We’d recommend him highly and would absolutely select him again for another home construction/remodel project.

We knew that home remodels can be tough and do not go completely smoothly but we never imagined the nightmare that Jared Wilcox(AKA Jared Hamon) from Jared’s Custom Homes would put us through. Once the contract was signed that smiling, helpful person disappeared overnight and in his place was the most despicable person we have ever been forced to deal with. The number of things done poorly or just wrong is uncountable and that was not the worst part– it is hard to think of things he did not try– double charging us, not completing work, doing work below code, damaging our property. .. the list just goes on and on. We fired him and then went to arbitration and won every one of the claims we had against him and that still did not even come close to making up for everything he put us through.
