I am not entirely happy with their service. My GC subcontracted them for the new construction of our house. For one, they took several weeks longer than planned to finish the job. The end result is so-so. They installed the drywall panels very quickly but then took forever to finish. Almost none of the walls were plane. The spec was for a Level 4 finish. When we asked for the walls to be plane and the edges straight, they asked for more money since they considered it a Level 5 finish.(I disagree with that statement because the«level» is only a measure of smoothness of the wall surface, not a measure of how plumb or plane the wall is.) The job required very crisp edges, including at the bottomof the drywall where the drywall meets an integral baseboard. They installed metal edges on their warped walls, but then had to cake on several layers of mud to make them plane, so that in essence the metal edge is buried below gypsum and is in large parts useless. They came back to fix some of the more egregious problems, but overall I am not impressed with their work. They also left behind a big mess from washing out their equipment in our side yard and never cleaned up.

Wilkinson Drywall stepped in when it looked like another drywaller was going to do subpar work. He arrived quickly and was able to have his team start right away. He drywalled most of my house and did several patches and the work was STELLAR. The big project was reasonably priced, the later one-off patches were quite expensive. My only complaint is that he doesn’t work via email or text, but in the scheme of things(and great work), that is nothing. Call Ron, he rocks.

I guess MYJOBWASTOOSMALL and TOOCHEAPFORTHEM. First I had to leave a voicemail, I got a call back, setting up an appt, which I was able to manage by requesting a precious WFH day on a regular weekday. They NEVERSHOWEDUP at the proposed time, no call went through, left voicemail, no reply to emails. I was simply ignored. That is awesome way to get rid of commoners. Way to go.

Our kitchen ceiling suffered water damage when the roof leaked last year. We also had a number of poorly completed patches done by the previous home owner that needed to be fixed properly. Pat is a magician and provided very high quality work. The repairs he completed are invisible. Ron is responsive and great to deal with.

We were very pleased with both the quality and the price on our recent project to drywall our garage. Ron got started on the project without delay. We wanted the walls finished smooth and Patrick did a masterful job of taping and floating the walls. We couldn’t be more pleased with their service.

We were getting a house ready for new tenants that were moving in within 2 days, and had to have some electrical work done in two bathrooms. In the process of replacing a couple of ventilation fans, the electrician left some gaping holes in the ceiling. I gave Ron a call, explained the situation, and he was able to have someone meet me at 7:30 the next morning. Over a couple visits, the ceiling was patched, the textures matched and the paint job was a perfect fit. The fix was seamless, which is exactly what I needed!

The average homeowner like myself typically doesn’t know what to call a drywaller for… nor know that one doesn’t have to go through a contractor to do that(and save expenses in doing so)…nor know who to call. By doing some web sleuthing, I learned that a drywaller is someone you call to do things like patch up cracks and repair holes that inevitably show up on walls and ceilings from the house settling or just from wear and tear. In my case, the need was also to wall off a fireplace as well as repair tape and old drywall that had loosened from the bathroom ceiling. More web sleuthing and I learned that a contractor typically serves to help sort of ‘translate’ and coordinate your needs with someone like a drywaller. However, if you find a drywaller that is experienced and is both able and willing to work with the average homeowner to help them understand the process, then one typically doesn’t need the added expense of the contractor and should just hire a drywaller directly. Even more web sleuthing and I found Wilkinson Drywall who fit the bill in spades of being an experienced drywaller who is more than willing and capable for the average Joe/Jane like me to work directly and confidently with. Apparently, Ron(the owner) has been in the drywall business since the 80s and his employees each have almost a decade of experience as well. So, they don’t need«translation» and make the entire process from beginning to end not the least bit intimidating(which, in my experience, is typically the case in having to hire home improvement type of services). Like another reviewer said… Wilkinson Drywall is very professional, efficient, punctual and does top quality work. But what also deserves noting is that they also provide a very personal touch in understanding one’s needs and prescribing the best solutions to fit one’s need holistically — solutions that consider what’s best for one’s investment as well as being cost conscious. Simply put… you can trust these guys. They know what they’re doing, they communicate in a way that doesn’t make you feel stupid, and they perform in a way that doesn’t make you feel violated at the end.
