The best Chinese food in the desert — hands down. I was visiting some family who are locals and they treated us to dinner here. It was my favorite spot years ago and they had never heard of it, so they were skeptics. They are all now converts to the Wang. It was a slower Monday night at the beginning of the week. With the 120+*F heat during the day — the restaurant was not crowded. So, we were given a table that could have seated a party twice as big, but we thought it looked really cool as it was elevated and half of it had a wrap-around couch for seats. The food was amazing. Two of our party had pad-Thai, another had chicken teriyaki, then there were orders of garlic beef and General Wang’s Chicken. Some folks had beer and mixed drinks, the table favorite was the desert mule, a vodka/ginger beer drink that pairs well with spicy dishes(or just about anything). The service and value was great — the tab came to only $ 70 for a party of 5 with a baby. We had a great time and would highly recommend this spot for dinner on any occasion.

Never been so disrespected by a ‘business’(and I use the term loosely) in my 42 years of life! When YOU the restaurant are completely at fault and the cause of an extra 45 minute wait for an order that YOU mistakenly gave to the wrong customer thee ONLY thing that should be said is ‘My Apologies’! I, as a customer should NOT have to over hear a conversation between a manager and an employee about what happened to MY order, when I repeatedly had to ask for order updates. Only to never be told what actually happened, and when I ask and begin to express my disappointment with the whole situation your ‘Manager’ has the nerve to get upset?! Attempting to throw out a customer for then wanting to re-check the order(for obvious reasons) before leaving, grabbing and yanking their food from the counter so that you can defiantly do what should have been automatically done, and then commenting that you hope you’d ‘never see them in there again’… SERIOUSLY!!! At what point did you think ANY customer would come back after such treatment? Get over yourself Wangs. Your staffs complete unprofessionalism is showing…

I have never been in, I order through Postmates. Let’s just say that their Pad Thai is really incredible. I am going to venture into their salads next. They are gluten free and vegan friendly and you can ask for anything on their menu that way. So YAY for being awesome. I am kind of addicted. :)

Has anyone ever had Good Chinese? Everyone keeps saying how good the food is here. Americanized Chinese is not Good it’s over sauced and just slop. Don’t waste your time the restaurants laid out all weird too. Everyone is in each other’s business overall this place is bad. Service to the food to the ambiance two thumbs down.

Elegant Chinese food. I will definitely be going back, maybe during happy hour. I love me some fried rice! Oh, and the waiter, well he was a cutie. Thank you Mike for taking such good care of us!

Terrible… food was uninspired and very expensive. Served with all the artistry of a plate full of cinder blocks. The POS system crashed as we were checking out and ultimately we had to go to a nearby banks ATM to get cash to pay for dinner. The staff did remove the ATM charge from the bill. Tired and worn was the impression. Give this place a pass.

The food was pretty good, but our waiter Nicholas was sublime, he made everything taste better! He gave us lots of suggestions and we loved his input.

I live in Long Beach, California, I have only been to Wang’s about 12 times over the past 5 years, but three times so far just this year. First off, I never cared for the food, all that rice they give to you, all of the different stir fry dinners taste the same, not good at all. Secondly and most importantly, much of the gay men crowd that used to pack and rock this place have all gone away, this place is getting deader and deader every month. The band music and singers they now have playing here will put you to sleep. If the gay men don’t come back soon this place will go bye-bye soon, how sad.

Went there last Saturday. This was my wife favorite place for many years. We are locals so there is a large selection to choose from. Let see if u were rate each portion of our experience it would go like this. 1: service 4 out of 10. Slow. Not friendly 2: food 6 of 10. They were not that busy appetizer to 20 min. Good followed 40kin later. They have lost their edge. 3. Drinks. 5 of 10. Mix and watery Won’t be back

We decided to check out Wang’s in the Desert for Valentine’s Day, and I must say we were impressed. Even before we got inside, the red Emperor-style doors hinted that we might be in for a cool-looking spot. After we got inside, we weren’t disappointed. The whole restaurant has a neon blue hue to it. There’s a small river that runs right down the middle of the floor, with a small foot bridge that connects both halves of the restaurant. Splurging a bit, we ordered a little more than usual. First up, we got the coconut chicken soup, which is similar to a yellow Thai curry dish. It was loaded with flavor and had a perfect amount of kick to it. Not too spicy. Then we got the chicken pot stickers, which, I admit, is a difficult dish to mess up. The best ones are not too chewy, and these fall right in that category. My girlfriend, being a big fan of rice, got the chicken fried rice as her meal. It was definitely above average, and large enough that she was able to take half of it home for dinner the next day. For my meal, I ordered the orange peel chicken. There wasn’t a whole lot of food, but it was delicious. There was definitely more chicken than breading, and the breading wasn’t overly thick like it tends to be at other places. The staff, along with our server, Mike, was awesome. We were one of the last groups left before close, so he spent some extra time talking with us. He was very down to earth and personable. My only complaint would be the price of the items. While the fried rice($ 10) and the soup($ 4.50) were pretty reasonable, some other items were way too much. I know this is more of an upscale place, but $ 11 for 5 pot stickers is pretty high. Also, my chicken dish was $ 17 and did not come with a whole lot of food. The prices were definitely not outrageous, just a little more than reasonable. But I suppose you’re paying for the atmosphere as well. We will definitely be back. Perhaps next time we will share some dishes if we want to save some money. It’s a better version of P.F. Chang’s and I feel good about supporting a small business.

I’m only giving it 2 stars because the food was good! The«service» non existent . We sat ourselves on the patio about 6:30PM on a Wednesday. After about 15 minutes, I PHONED the restaurant to inform them we were on their patio waiting for service. S… L…O…W from start to finish. Hard to get refills, no checkback by bartender/server and had to persist to get a refill again and see the check. I was amazed and hope that this is an anomaly. Really demonstrated how good food, nice décor and ambience can be spoiled by awful service! If the manager or owner reads this. DON’T LETTHISHAPPEN or you will fail.

My boyfriend and I came upon this place thanks to groupon. It was worth every penny! The restaurant was beautiful! I thought I was walking into the Emperor’s home or something. I loved everything from the dragons on the door to the bridge and the wall decorations and statues. Stunning! Our server was fun, fast, polite, and just a delight. Haha. They tagged on a 15% gratuity to our groupon, but he was worth it. He kept us entertained, hydrated, and refreshed. Her was very attentive and made sure that if he couldn’t be there, someone else was. I was thoroughly impressed with how well he flinted around his numerous tables with such ease. As for our food, the portions were size able and delicious. We even got extra rice to go without cost and hesitation.

I am visiting Palm Springs, and even before I got to town I knew we were going to Wang’s on our first night. Wang’s has a legendary Friday Happy Hour, and our trio couldn’t wait to check it out. We arrived what I thought to be early, but the place already had a nice crowd. There is a great covered patio in the back that was a pretty cool space to hang with my buddy’s and Buddha. The DJ was on point with just he right vibe, I loved the music from the start. What most impressed me was The Bartenders, They were busy as heck yet super efficient, well dressed, and nicely groomed. they also used language, and tone with the customers that you usually find in fine dinner houses and luxury hotels. this is a team of professionals that poured some might fine cocktails. We didn’t eat, but the dining room was nice, and the food smelt yummy!!!

Horrible, horrible, horrible! I can’t believe this is passing for a decent Asian restaurant! The best thing I had was the complimentary pickled cucumbers, which I had to inquire about because I noticed other table receiving this side dish with their beverages! Their spicy orange choke. Tasted like it was fried in old grease. The shrimp I had in some tomato sauce was our main topic at dinner trying to figure out what it tasted like as it was extremely bland! My husband ordered the cashew chicken which was the most edible dish for all of us! Additionally, for a table of three, I can’t believe they automatically included an 18% gratuity on our bill! The service didn’t warrant anything near that AND I’ve never had a restaurant include the tip in bill for a table of less than 6 people!!! Words to live by: Don’t go!!!

This is hands down the best chinese restaurant EVER! We eat here at least twice when we’re in town. We always get the chicken won ton soup which is fabulous and highly recommended. The beef and broccoli is incredible here, as well as the ginger beef. OMG the ginger beef is to die for! Also have had the beef and Bol Choy also very good as well as Kung pao chicken. But tonight was the first time we tried the ginger beef and I can’t believe I’ve been missing this dish all this time! Service is always amazing here. Staff is extremely friendly and efficient.

I loved our food and I had two lychee martinis:-) They advertise a gluten free and vegetarian menu which they have but are tiny… but at least they have them We did order completely off the gluten free menu(with most the dishes indicating that they are made with gluten free soy sauce) and then we were presented with a bottle of soy sauce for the table(regular soy sauce) All that is fine and they would have been 4 stars but for the drinks! Sunday night is clearly not the night to come because it took a small act of God to get each round of drinks – we were told that was because the bartender was too busy getting drinks for the ground outside with the live entertainment to fill the drink orders for the dining room… really really long delays to get drinks…

The name of the restaurant is reason enough to dine here. We got the walnut shrimp and beef chow fun for takeout — and it was more than enough food for two! We called it in and our order was ready in 20 minutes for pickup. The walnut shrimp was creamy and lightly crisped — which was delicious. It came with a side of rice, which helped justify the price tag on this. The beef chow fun is one of my favorite Chinese dishes, and Wang’s does a solid job with the flavor. The noodles were a little mealy for my taste but I still enjoyed them — especially with the flank steak which was very tender and cooked in a great sauce. Next time I’ll try their happy hour! Although… I’m not sure ladies are as welcome there, per the name. Oh well
