Craving a good Mexican breakfast burrito this a.m., so called & placed my to go order. Hadn’t been here in years & must say little has changed. (Other than the fact that there was NO fresh baked bread or pan dulce which was a huge disappointment.) The burritos were delectable as usual & deserve a 5 star, but the décor, not so much. The place has not changed at all in that area. At the very least, removing the clutter & duct tape off the walls, updating their menu boards & a simple coat of paint is sorely needed. Wouldn’t cost barely a thing & would do wonders for the aesthetic of the place. Again, the food is consistently delicious which is probably their saving grace. Definitely recommend if you’re simply ordering to go.

BEST breakfast burritos Iv ever had! Ladies that work are very nice. This is a special hole in the wall place. Food is delicious and authentic. It taste like my grandma (RIP) made the burrito for me. Delish:)

I grew up in Oxnard and this place has THE BEST breakfast burritos in town! I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’d ever ordered from there. Personally it’s all about those breakfast burritos and carnitas burritos. I gave 4 stars because they really need to invest in cosmetic upgrades. A coat of paint would work wonders…

I found this place on my into work looking for a cup of coffee and came out with the best breakfast burrito I have ever had! The authenticity and flavors in every bite. Chorizo con papas, rice, beans, cheese, and salsa was sooo delicious! I spent the day at work talking this place up. This place won me over and will soon be there to try the much talked about chile rellenos.

i just LOVE their burritos. i keep meaning to try other things on the menu, but every time, those burritos get me. i have tried their tamales at christmas though — my fiancé and i went through 12 tamales in two days, OOPS! so bomb. the service here is good too, the ladies behind the counter are always very nice.

Best burritos Ive ever had, Chile Colorado burrito can’t get any better than this. this place has been around forever and the reason is its awesome sauce.

We happened in here last weekend because we were on the way to Malibu and starving. I know have have said this before but these are the best chili rellenos I have ever had, this time really .La comida seta deliciosa The food is delicious, there is no better way to say it. This place is not fancy but, YUM. We both had the relleno and a chile cheese tamale which was surprisingly spicy. The food came out fast and I think the bill was about 14 bucks, that was with a coffee and a juice. The service was almost overly cordial. these people are nice! who knew?

I’ve been hitting this place for some 20 years after a surf at the strand, or if just passing through the nard. it’s kinda like a mexican buffet and bakery. i get a large coffee and load in the half&half, then check out what is fresh behind the glass of the hot food case. just tell the girls what you want and they’ll put it onto your plate. great B-​fast burritos and Chili Relleno burritos, super delicious handmade tamales (chicken, beef, pork and sweet), and of course the dozens of different kinds of sweet breads (pan dulce). also breakfast to order! oh man and the Carnitas is so good!.. i love it! go now!

Been living in the Oxnard/​Ventura area for 5 years now and I’ve never been here. Well this morning was the first time I’d ever been here, recommended by a friend of mine.
He had recommended a breakfast burrito, So that’s what I ordered: egg, sausage, hashbrowns, cilantro, hot and mild sauce. We sat for a short time for our food (2 – 3 minutes) to receive it steaming hot with everything cooked for it just then. It took me about 2 minutes to eat this thing.
No, it wasn’t small, it was gargantuan. The biggest 5 $ breakfast burrito I’ve ever eaten. It was the fact that it’s deliciousness outweighed the mass (figuratively speaking) that allowed me to eat this thing in record time. It was amazing.
The food was made in a timely fashion, the ladies that worked there were so sweet and nice and the food was spectacular.
Recommend this place to anyone and everyone that enjoys good food.

This place makes a mean breakfast burrito with all the fixings. Good breakfast burrito. I was greeted by a smiling, friendly lady behind the counter. Along with the burrito, I got a cup of café and horchata to go.

$ 5 burrito. Lots of meat choices. Chips. Salsa.

My friends and I have been coming to this place for almost 30 years. We get bakery items in the morning, go surf, and then come back for lunch. My personal favorite is the Chile Relleno burrito — best burrito I’ve ever had. On top of that, the people there treat you like family.

Mexican bakery (panaderia) and burrito place, plus other items like enchilada plates with beans and rice. They also cater.
The breakfast burrito was HUGE and freshly prepared — not simply put together from various steam trays. Friendly lady behind the counter. Seemed like a regular stop for Spanish-​speaking locals.

The nachos are meal for two or three, and they are good with the works. I’ve had the burritos, ok, but I go there for the nachos.

This place has it all!!! Delicious mexican food, all fresh, at a good price — come eat here, you can’t go wrong — Family owned and operated — BEST BREAKFAST BURRITOS in town, they also sell the masa for the tamales — Excellent customer service.
Strongly recommend to others — try it and see why people return year after year when they want to eat real authentic Mexican food.

ok so i came to la especial today with my friend and it was amazing; seriously. i’m not just saying that because it’s my friend’s family’s bakery either, it’s legit.
so let’s start with the appetizer: chips and salsa. both homemade! well, you can’t beat that right? home made chips and salsa, yum. the chips were thin and crispy, the sauce was red but more tomato than spice. it was good, not overwhelming or something weird.
to eat, we both ordered the same: two tacos (asada) with everything. they aren’t the little taco stand tortillas either mind you, they’re regular sized corn. we got ours soft, but i think i should’ve gotten mine crunchy because mine fell apart (i think it was just me though, because his stayed in tact). inside was some of the best asada i’ve had (well marinated and cooked to where it’s not chewy), lettuce, diced tomato, monterrey jack cheese, and your choice of hot or mild salsa.
you can’t beat the price either! i think they’re like $ 1.50 for one? but you’ll get full.
they also serve burritos of different fillings. a breakfast menu. hamburgers and hotdogs. enchiladas. and so much more. you HAVE to check it out :]

Well yes, its a bakery selling Mexican pastries of all types. But they also serve lunch food like burritos. My personal favorite has always been the spicy beef and potato burrito. It may not be a traditional choice but it kicks butt, literally. Be forewarned, spicy means mexican spicy. The burrito was $ 5.25 for a typical hole-​in-​the-​wall double fisted burrito. It was also $ 5.25 10+ years ago, what the hell?
They used to use a lot of lard in their cooking in the past but now it seems lighter than I remember. But don’t go ’cause its healthy ’cause its not, go because its good and cheap.
