I’m officially done at the store. Every time I go here they are out of stuff and I end up having to go to two grocery stores just to find the things that I need. At first I gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just a fluke but after multiple trips they are always out of my yogurt, my bread, and so many other things. Very disappointing! And Not only that, I have seen the way Management speaks to their employees and it’s a disgrace. He is very condescending and mean and totally unacceptable!

My dad’s 80th birthday was last weekend and I took responsibility for getting his birthday cake this year. There’s several Price Choppers closer to home for me but this one is down the street from my office so I chose to order from their bakery so i could pick up the cake on my way home from work. I used their online ordering process and was able to choose an 8″ round 2 layer marble(chocolate/vanilla) cake with bavarian cream filling and chocolate buttercream frosting. Total including the decoration was $ 14.99+tax. It smelled delicious and I was happy to present it to my Dad for such a big birthday. By the time we cut his cake on his big day, we’d already eaten a filling dinner so I only had a few bites of my boyfriend’s piece but it was moist and yummy. I would definitely get a cake from this bakery again!

This is so close to home and convenient, but. just not my ideal spot. They are definitely competitive in the pricing range. but NO fresh meat counter. Just bugs me. Its one of the reasons I have more recently been purchasing from another place in the area. Check your meats well though — opened up some chicken from their meat area to find some kind of… well. mystery meat tucked away. Blegh.

This grocery store is about the same size as others, but is lacking a meat counter, and has a tiny bakery. It feels really dated and perhaps that has a lot to do with the interior paint color and aisle layout. I’ll be honest, for me grocery shopping is more of a chore than an activity I enjoy but I never get that«inspired» feeling that a nicely laid out store, or a particularly attractive display can do. Service usually feels like they are«phoning-it-in» and a genuine greeting is hard to find. Still, if you shop the sales they give you reasons to come back week after week. And their pre-made sandwiches are loaded with meat! Those are quite good!

I still have four words for this grocery store-get a meat counter! This one thing alone would be such an amazing improvement. The only time I come here is when I need one or two small things. Otherwise, I despise this grocery store so much that I’ll drive past it several miles down the road to the next one. Still hoping they’ll make it better someday. My gas usage would decrease significantly!

I love this grocery store. The produce is fresh and not over-priced, the meat is good, the staff is very friendly, the store is clean and I rarely have to wait a long time in the check out lines — even over the holidays. The regular prices are not bad and they have great specials and sales. I have tried the other mainstream chains — HyVee and Hen House — but Price Chopper beats them hands down for consistency, price and service.

This store is part of the galaxy of supermarkets/food stores clustered around 119th and Metcalf in Overland Park. It’s in the Rosana Square shopping center on the NW corner. Walmart is across Metcalf, to the east. Target SuperStore is just south, across 119th St. Costco is just down Metcalf at 123rd, and Whole Foods is just a couple of blocks east on 119th St. You won’t starve in this neighborhood! And between one store and another you should be able to find just about anything you might be looking for, without a lot of running around and wasting gas! 119th St. is really quite the culinary corridor, when you think about it. A few minutes east of this intersection, near Roe, you’ll also find Dean & DeLuca, the«kosher» Hen House, and the much-awaited Trader Joe’s. A few minutes to the west, just past U.S. 69, you’ll find the huge 888 International Market for East and Southeast Asian foods, and an Indian/Pakistani grocery(in the same shopping center). And a few blocks south, at 125th and Metcalf, there’s the new Shahrazad Middle Eastern market. This area has you pretty well covered for any cooking ingredient you can imagine! This Cosentino’s Price Chopper is open 24 hours. The store is pretty large and has a good selection. It’s not mind-blowing, but good. They have a fairly extensive aisle of ethnic foods, with some Indian items, a smallish kosher section, some Asian things, and a lot of Mexican food ingredients. For Passover they have a pretty big special section of items(over by the produce department) and, now that it’s after Passover, great clearance prices, so I stocked up on some favorite things. A nice store, all in all, and I’ll undoubtedly be back when I’m shopping in the neighborhood.
