My wife and I ate here a couple months ago. I got a sushi burrito, she had a chicken dish and then we shared some sushi rolls. We both got VERY sick about 2 hours after leaving here with very bad food poisoning. It’s made both of us never wanting to eat sushi again.

Absolutely delicious and incredible lunch specials. Extremely friendly service. One of the most underrated Sushi spots in Overland Park. Definately recommend!

Anything I have tried, I have loved. The bento box is delicious, sushi is superb and, of course, anything from the hibachi is great. Extremely friendly staff(family owned). Definitely a must go.

Staff is always welcoming and friendly. The food is very fresh and light tasting allowing the flavors to really come through. This trip we tried the summer roll, superman burrito, nigiri, onion soup and miso soup. We enjoyed all of it! It’s definitely worth trying out.

We walked into a small restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. It felt upscale without being pretentious(nice balance!). Service was excellent! The person with me had the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box; I had the Monkey Brains roll(if only for the name!) The Bento box came with 4 pieces of California roll, chicken teriyaki, steamed rice, green salad, and miso soup. The Monkey Brains roll was essentially a California roll topped with spicy tuna and salmon. Presentation was excellent. The bento box was beautifully laid out and all the food was clearly freshly prepared. Dishes were nice; the silverware was presented nicely folded in a napkin with chopsticks. We tried each others dishes and were pretty impressed! The chicken teriyaki was very good; slightly sweet for my taste, but cooked perfectly with a great underlying meat flavor. It wasn’t bland rubber chicken, as is so often the case. The California roll was also very good. The sticky rice was sticky without being pasty. The salad had a nice Asian-style dressing that had a little punch, but nice. The Monkey Brains sushi was also excellent. The seafood appeared to be very fresh. From the taste, if it was frozen, it was the best job with frozen seafood I’ve seen in a long time. Very flavorful, prepared well. Prices were reasonable for this type of restaurant; with a soft drink and tip, we paid about $ 20 per plate. They also offer the tepenyaki-style cooking toward the back, though this wasn’t active when we were there. Finally, there was a terrific little feature: their regular’s have their dedicated chopsticks in cases mounted on the wall. Cute idea! So I’d recommend Han Shin in Overland Park. Good stuff!

We really wanted to go to a Japanese steakhouse and not have to drive far. This was close to our house and had good reviews so we decided to try it out. The food was excellent and the service was great, it was just REALLY small. We were a little surpised with the size of the restaurant, and they only have one hibachi grill. It was not busy so we got right in. We would definitely go back though!

I don’t give a one star review lightly, but this restaurant deserves one after my experience today. One can say I’ve eaten more than my weight in sushi over the years… in fact it’s one of my favorite foods. Today I ordered a rainbow roll and a spider roll. Both came with beautiful presentation. The digestive juices were flowing in anticipation. My first bite of the rainbow was of the shrimp side. As I tried to enjoy the taste I kept chewing on something very hard. After removing two pieces from my mouth I discovered they had left the hard shrimp tail shells on. This is a Maki Roll… not Ebi sushi! Sigh!!! I’ve never had to remove inedibles from Japanese Maki Sushi before. I placed them on my plate and showed them to their server. Well… her response was priceless. She said it was deliberate, basically telling me I was a fool and didn’t know anything about sushi. Now I’m not only feeling poisoned, imagine if I’d swallowed those shells, but insulted and called ignorant. She had no sympathy that food she’d served could have caused me serious problems. With trepidation I tasted the tuna side of the rainbow roll and it was essentially tasteless. With a good maki sushi that has a great sauce delicately placed on it you should never have to use dipping sauce. The Sushi Chef works hard to create a sauce which compliments the preparation. I like to trust their talent. But this roll certainly needed dipping sauce. So with further trepidation I sampled the spider roll. This one the chef got right. Great taste, good size soft shell crab, and the sushi rice was delicately seasoned to compliment. So my lunch was not a total waste. The green tea was good, but I find that hard to ruin. I will not return to be further insulted or be subjected to unseen shrimp tail shells in my food.

This place is the absolute best — eat the super crunch roll and the spicy crab salad. All of their food is delicious. The steak is juicy and flavorful, and their soup is authentic. Most of all, the people are nice and welcoming.

Having a hard time understanding the good reviews here. I think people have not had good sushi, clearly. Frankly, I have had better sushi from Dillon’s grocery store. Crunch roll had a sickening sweet sauce on top, & shrimp was very overcooked. Tuna roll was acceptable, however. Miso soup tasted cheap and flavorless. Dressing on salad was very watery. Hubby’s bento box was subpar: chicken was way overcooked, fried rice was not good. Will never be back here. I don’t know why I go anywhere but Edokko.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Had the Snow Cone Sushi Roll and it was delicious. The apple sake went down way too easily. Could find myself face down in an alley if I wasn’t careful with how much I drink of this stuff. Definitely recommend this place. We are coming back and going to try the hibachi next time.

Good sushi and FAST! Most places i feel like we wait forever! But this place brought out the kiddos bento box in record time and sushi was not far behind. We had the amazing spider roll, superman burrito, rainbow roll, and crazy eel(different made with banana). This place is my new favorite… husband liked it but said Sushi Mido’s wonder woman roll was still his favorite
