It can’t be easier to get in to donate. I make an appointment online using their simple form and choose the day and time best for me. I’m sure you can walk in but most people have appointments. You go through the questionnaire, get your iron tested and head off to a lounger and get started. I am a HUGE, this is no lie, scaredy cat of needles. I haven’t had any issues with anyone setting me up first try. Thankfully… no digging! Once I’m off and bleeding it’s usually less than 10 minutes from start to finish. They ask on numerous occasions if you’re doing ok, need anything, etc… They need to know if you are feeling odd at all. After your donation is finished and you’re wrapped up it’s snack time. This is only time I have Oreos or Nutter Butters. It’s my little reward for making it through without issues. I make sure to sit there for a bit and rest. You should remember if you’re taking any antibiotics you won’t be able to donate. You should definitely up your iron intake a few days before. My iron count can be questionable and I wasn’t able to donate a few months ago. It’s definitely goot to eat a meal and up your water. It’s a really simple process and you’re helping out people in need.
