We had a very good dinner at Ming’s, enjoying a few dim sums before beef with bitter melon, ma po tofu and great seafood chow fun! I was surprised they served dim sum at night and we ate them as appetizers and it was so much fun to enjoy the variety. Service was friendly and excellent.

Been there for takeout on 3 separate occasions the past 2 months b/c the line to get in was unreasonable to sit down during my lunch hour. I guess that’s a good problem to have… Coming from some great Dim Sum in NYC and Boston… Brooklyn(manhattan dim sum does not compare btw if you are there), this place was pretty decent. I’ve also heard Toronto is amazing, but haven’t had a chance to go visit yet… I can’t give it a 5 b/c they aren’t on the level of some of the great dim sum I’ve had, but it was much higher quality than I had anticipated when we moved to Orlando. I love dimsum. Even better that you can have it anytime you want, and not just on weekend mornings… This was the 2nd place we tried in Orlando, and our favorite place so far. It’s good enough that we will probably not be trying other places(unless we really want to get the messy canto experience and ordering from carts and find someplace less crowded). But, this place is crowded for a reason. I think they had a new owner come in around August, and I didn’t try it prior to that, but this place has some good dim sum if you haven’t tried. It’s not a fancy place, so if you don’t like your authentic chinatown like feel… probably shouldn’t come here. That’s better for me. Less wait.

Very bad service! Very rude! Very bad service! The old male waiter who I guess maybe is the boss is very rude to my 3 years old daughter!

First, I want to say that my expectation of service at most Chinese dim sum restaurants is minimal. If you come here expecting amazing service then you will truly be disappointed. However if you come in knowing that service will be straight and to the point with no frills then you will be satisfied with the service. The food is good. As good as it was in New York? No, but for Orlando Florida this place is a pretty solid location. The fact that you can get dim sum any time of the day is pretty nice. If it’s after hours for their dim sum carts you can always order from their dim sum menu. The spicy chicken feet are yummy and aren’t spicy like hot spicy but more of full of spices spicy. Their black bean rib pieces are really good to. The steamed pork buns are really good and flavorful too. They also have recently renovated the interior which give it a more cozy feel instead of the dirty industrial feel. I’m sure we will be back to eat more of their dishes.

Ming use to be my top destination for Chinese food in my Orlando. However, my recent visit did not give me a wow factor. It is still same old place with good food but not wow. This night we order quite a lot of food. We started with crispy pork. This may be their best dish since not many Hong Kong restaurant can make this dish perfect. The skin is crispy, the fat is smooth, the meat is tender and well marinated. The skin pretty much can dissolve at your tongue. The second dish lobster in Hong Kong styles. The tail is chop to six easy bite pieces and the leg and crawl is attach to the chamber. It stir fried with garlic pepper. I like this dish but cost us $ 30. The third dish is the Jade Tofu. This use to be my best dish. Unfortunately they cut the tofu a bit thick to cook. I like them thin. Which is hard to handle. This tofu is make from egg. It is very soft compare to regular tofu. The last dish is the roast duck. I feel that they did not cook the duck correctly. I believe they can be improved. Service is average. The price not quite match the value compare to many Chinese restaurant. 3 stars. Early on, I believe they are 4 stars restaurant.

I am still on my search for the best dim sum in Florida! I was going to be in the area and decided to get dim sum for lunch before we started our day. After Unilocaling around, I was surprised how little dim sum places there are in Orlando. Ming’s Bistro seems to be the only one with decent reviews and stars(probably the highest in the area and it’s not a full 4 star yet). Upon our arrival there was a 15 minutes wait. No biggie, I’m used to waiting for dim sum. I was really surprised how little this place was. At tops there are probably a combination of 16 big and small tables? There’s really not much room for movement here and it reminded me of a classic old dim sum restaurant with little decoration or presentation at all. We were pointed to be seated at a table that was in the process of cleaning so it’s a very quick, quick movement here at Ming’s. I’m not a total fan because of one of my biggest peeve is being rushed while I eat. Especially, if someone is not familiar to that type of dining. Luckily, after many years under my mom’s guidance I was able to lead my bf into a successful array of dishes to eat. Like I said, we were quickly sat down and even before we were able to get our drinks the hot steaming carts of dim sum arrived. Alright, I got this! There was only two noticeable carts that served different dim sum, so I would have to say there isn’t that much of a variety of different dim sum. You have all your basic dishes from shu mai, haw gar, chicken feet, sticky rice, buns, spicy tripe and so on. I did notice that the dishes was not that hot either so it may have been sitting in those carts for awhile and just pushed around many, many rounds. Taste wise, it was good! I wouldn’t say amazing, but it does hit the dim sum cravings. I’ve had worse and would have to say they are pretty decent and If I lived near by I would visit often for that fix. They are priced averagely too at around $ 2.50 to $ 4.00 a plate. It’s definitely a great place to bring your family and friends around(a round) table and enjoy a good lunch with plenty of laughter. The only thing I really didn’t like is just the rushed feeling of dinning. I know it can get packed in such a small space, but man! Let me enjoy my food!

3 stars for a unique experience that, while fun, ultimately leaves you unsatisfied. My husband’s friend is from China and enjoys visiting this restaurant. He and his wife invited my husband and me to join them for brunch. Our group of 4 arrived at 11 am on Sunday for brunch. We put our names down and ended up waiting about 15 minutes. The wait would have been a lot longer, but we agreed to share a table with another group of four. This was odd, but ended up being not that big of a deal and was sort of fun. The concept for brunch at this restaurant is that you select an assortment of tapas sized plates from several carts that are rolled around the restaurant. The dishes range from sweet desserts to tripe and clams. When you select an item, the server places an «X» on a long receipt. The pricing is a bit odd. The server puts an «X» in a certain price category(ranging from about 2.95−6.95+) instead of listing the item you actually received. Sometimes the items have been on the cart for a long time, and the server will bring you a fresh version of the item you selected. We experienced a problem with this system. One of our party enjoyed the clams here. After ordering clams, the server put an «X» on our receipt and then went back to the kitchen for fresh ones. Needless to say, we didn’t get the clams for ages. When we eventually got someone’s attention about this issue, they put an additional«X» on our receipt. We tried to explain that an «X» had already been placed for this item. The server put one anyway. When we tried to clear this up, we were«assured» that they were correct and the second billing was appropriate. This issue in and of itself was not sufficient to ruin the outing. However, most of the food was served at awkward temperatures and were of dubious quality. It really was fun to get to try chicken feet and sheep stomach, and I really enjoyed an eggplant and shrimp dish. However, the service, ambiance, and quality was simply sub-par. Additionally, the pricing for this restaurant is rather shocking. We ended up dropping a significant amount for a brunch that wasn’t very good. Overall, it was exciting to visit a traditionally-styled Chinese restaurant and sample unique foods. However, the price and food quality don’t make this a worthy stop.

If you’re looking for good old authentic Chinese dim sum in Orlando, this is the place to go. The food isn’t as fresh as dim sum places in Boston or Flushing, but it’s the best in Orlando. Whenever I’m visiting my parents(born and raised in Taiwan) during the holidays, we always make a stop there. This is your typical carts of dim sum going by, where you pick what looks tasty, and they mark it on your sheet. You can also order additional dishes fresh, if you’d like. Our favorites include fried taro balls, turnip cakes, shrimp or pork dumplings, Chinese bbq pork buns, leek dumplings, fried(wide) rice noodle … the list could go on. Now, keep in mind, that like any authentic Chinese place, you’re paying for the food — not the service. It gets busy, so get there early or expect a 15 – 30 minute wait.
