We went here because we wanted Italian food and the Olive Garden down the street was taken. I wish we could have found the reviews beforehand. The service was slow, and our company, who graciously took up the check for us, commented on how they added the gratuity in automatically(we had four adults and two children, hardly a crowd). Food would have been good at half the price; the average Maggiano’s, Carabba’s, or even Olive Garden would have been better. I had a Caesar salad with nearly tasteless dressing but with interesting peppery croutons and a different shred on the lettuce than normal.

The food was mediocre, but they did their best to give us good service, so I’ll give them extra points. Even though the kitchen was closed they opened the kitchen back up and made pasta special for us. They were also out of a bottle of wine and gave us a more expensive one for the same price. The food prices were reasonable.

Worst valentines ever. I’ve tried place only once more since then and even still, it did not improve a smidgen. Our first time we went was on valentines, we were lucky and made reservations because they were turning away people since it was a reservation only night. The décor was absolutely horrible. Cheap fake plants and uncomfortable booths. Incredibly dim lighting with an un attractive orange glow, not even a simple romantic candle on the tale. Anything would have been nice for valentines. Even with reservations we had to wait almost 20 minutes for a table, 8:45 was the reservation time. The hostess status and we had a actress get our drink order right away, but didn’t come back for another 20 minutes. Once she finally did come back, she forgot what my soda was and took our food orders without the mention of an appetizer or anything. Once she left, two other waitresses tried taking our drink and food orders, on separate occasions! At this point it is about 9:45 and no food, wrong drink. Once our food came, it smelled really delicious. I order the chicken bruschetta, one of the newer items. The pasta and sauce was really good but the chicken was so big and deeply fried, it was extremely awkward to cut and eat. It was an overall dry piece of chicken but I preferred the pasta by itself. My boyfriend got a pasta and sausage dish which the server told him was spicy. Not only was it not spicy, it was barely warm. After halfway through eating, another different waitress dropped off bread at our table without so much of a word, confusing us. The bread itself was warm but burned badly on the bottom. We left just before 11 pm without dessert because they were closing and just shoved the check under our nose before we had the option. When we went back two nights ago, I got the chicken Alfredo and he had the chicken park. We split the calamari as the appetizer. This time our drinks we correct and we recovered bread right when we came in. Our calamari came out hot but was very over cooked. Too rubbery to be eaten and the marinara was cold and tasted bland. We waited close to 40, minutes for our entrees, thinking it’d be fresh. My boyfriend received his dish and just sent it back. He cut into the chicken and it was still punk inside. The breading was soggy and the pasta, cold. My Alfredo was really fresh, and quite good ! The chicken was cooked perfectly as well and the sauce was really yummy. By the time I waited for is new plate to come out, mine was cold so we just asked for boxes to go. They didn’t offer us a discount or compensate us for anything. Overall, still disappointed and not worth it. There is an Olive Garden before you get to this restaurant, I recommend them, or even McDonald’s before trying here again.

Well, I was going to say overall I was very pleasantly surprised with the service and content with food after being half scared out of my wits reading the horrible reviews. The atmosphere is severely lacking and I was even prepared to overlook that as our plans for New Year’s Eve fell through and after calling 4 Italian restaurants that were 100% booked we were able to get in with ease… a sign, perchance? But I ended the evening with a being charged 15 dollars for a freaking grey goose martini… um am I in Times Square or a mediocre restaurant in Orlando? The food was perfectly adequate but overpriced for what you receive. As for the Sicilian eggplant. It says Sicilian«Breaded» Eggplant Parmigiano. The waitress suggested that as it isn’t as ‘heavy’ as regular dish. What it is: thinly sliced eggplant cooked through with spaghetti and marinara on side. I actually was surprised that I did like it although expected it to be breaded… just very lightly breaded. Don’t order if expect the traditional dish. Order regular Parmigiano. Summary…decent food, friendly Italian waitress with good grasp of English but pricey and décor is in need of attention.

Only gave one star because the waitress was nice, food sucked sauce was straight out of a can, eggplant parm was mush and not even breaded. A party of 20 came in the same time we did and we were totally ignored 48 minutes to get served. Then the general manger comes out to apologize but does not offer any compensation, not even to ask if we wanted more bread. The only way I’d EVER go back is if I was told to or I’d be killed an then maybe I’d take death then going back. Never eat here.

My friend’s threw my surprise engagement party/Christmas party here! The service was wonderful and they let us use the entire left side of the place just for us. They let my friends decorate and all. If you need to through a private party that isn’t so private and pricey, this place is great. :)

When in Orlando, skip the chains and go to Amici’s. Their dinner rush is from 5 – 7, we arrived just at 7:30 and the crowds had cleared out. This Italian is authentic and divine. Add a bottle of pinot noir from the Veneto region with your sicilian eggplant parm and all I have to say is perfetto!

Really? This place had only 2 stars? I was on vacation and wanted to try a local Itallian restaurant, not a chain. I was very pleased with the my entire experience here. Starting with a friendly host that seated us, a really friendly, lively and knowledgeable waitress, fresh salads(one Caesar, one mixed), great entrees lasagna and egglplant parmigiana. Everything was super fresh, totally homemade and showed. Last but not least, the manager said goodbye to us on the way out and wanted to make sure that we had a good meal. I don’t know where some of the other Unilocalers are eating, but this restaurant is definitely worth dining at again. Also, they have about five really popular entrees on the Early Bird Dinner menuf for $ 8.99 which is a really good value. Nice background music too!

I don’t understand how the previous reviews could possibly be for the same restaurant we just went to. The service was fast and very friendly. The food was super fresh and flavorful. All in all, we had the best food we have eaten in Orlando at Amici. I’m very glad we found this place next to Kobe, which was our original choice. But the kids saw Italian and changed our minds for us. We enjoyed talking with Walter the owner who was super friendly! Turns out they have another location in St. Augustine that we will try to visit one day too. I sure hope that this restaurant is still here the next time we come to Orlando!

The only reason why my family and I went there was because it was walking distance from our hotel and somebody from the hotel suggested it. Since we arrived at the hotel quite late after our flight and was hungry, we didn’t want to venture out too far. First the place looked dingy and outdated. The waiter took forever to get us water and bread. They never even bought us utensils until the waiter noticed after he bought out our food. My husband ordered spagetti with clams; pizza for my daughter and I had the stuffed pasta. The clams in my husbands dish had sand. My daughter’s pizza tasted like one of those frozen individual pizzas and the dough was awful; didn’t have the taste or texture of pizza dough. My stuffed pasta was bland and tasteless. It’s probably one of the worse places that I’ve been to, definitely awful food.

After a long day at the parks we ended up at this restaurant because it was late, we were hungry and it was close to our hotel. I started to read the reviews in the car on the way over and began to get leary. The restaurant was pretty empty and we did not really feel like any of the other places nearby so we decided to try it and it was pretty good. I had the gnocchi which was not bad. The sauce had some seasoning too it which made it taste good. Others in my group had ravioli which was good. One in the group had eggplant parm and loved it. In terms of service it was not slow at all but I can’t judge what it would be like if it was busy. In general I would return, I have had better but if it is close by and you want italian food this will work.

I can cook better than this restaurant can prepare your dinner — and I am not a chef by trade. The food here is bland, lacks creativity, lacks plate appeal, and is overpriced. There are a million tables in this place, and it’s empty. That’s a big sign.

Believe the other reviews. Service was extremely slow for starters. There were 4 of us sharing 2 place settings. We had to get a manager to get the other 2 settings. Italian salad dressing was basically oil and vinegar. Bland. Two of us ordered veal picatta, which was tender. However, the mushrooms were uncooked and thrown on top. They ran out of the potato side at 8:00PM and we had spaghetti instead. Wedding soup was OK, but missing the spinach and had a rather cloudy broth. Try Olive Garden instead.

I will tell you all why this place is so dirty, after they close out for the day they open this place up for young Disney College program kids to party in. I find it hard to trust any locale that uses their dining area for drunken people to dance in. It shows that the management is pretty bad in this place because even the DJ sucked. I came here because my friend brought me here but I had never heard of this place before. Worst $ 5 spent this week was at this place. Beware.

The bread is to die for. Absolutely try the Seafood pasta dish with shrimp, scallop, and mussels in wine sauce.

Staying in Orlando on business, this place was recommended by the Front Desk Clerk. Eek. The interior is far too big, and sparsly populated by very few poorly lit tables. After trying to read the campy menu in the dark, I had to steal a candle from another table. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir from our server, who asked, «Is that the water with the bubbles?» Wow. We should have left then. Our food took forever to arrive, and was almost cold when it did. Had the place been busy, I might have understood, but it was practically abandoned. Aside from the pricey subpar food, the place was a mess. As diners paid their bills and left one by one, the tables remained cluttered and uncleaned for nearly twenty minutes. The waiter didn’t even bring us water. To top it off, I had to laugh when a nearby table ordered some fancy flame-enhanced ice cream desert; the server brought out what looked like a miniature grill on wheels, but then could not figure out how to turn it on. The ice cream was completely melted by the time someone who knew how to turn it on, and the table cancelled the order. After a miserable dining experience, I kindly requested that the Front Desk Clerk at my hotel stop recommending this terrible place to unsuspecting travelers.

After a long day at a TKD tournament followed by disney world, we were tired and hungry. This place was close to the Residence Inn hotel so we took a chance and Amici did not disappoint us. I had the linguini and clams in a white sauce. Fresh little necks cooked perfectly. Delicious. My kids had spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce and meatballs. They loved it. The bread was hot and served with a house seasoned olive oil. Got a second basket of bread just to mop up the clam sauce. Price was reasonable and the service excellent. Left full and happy.

We visited Amici’s despite the previous reviewer claiming«insects» were on their table. What a crock of bull. The food was outstanding! Prices were far below our expectations. We had the manacotti and tortellini dishes. The tomato sauce in the tortellini was amazing. We had the Banana table side dessert, and that too was outstanding. Next trip to Orlando, we will certainly visit this place again!

Within 2 minutes off sitting down my family and I found 5 live insects on and around our table. Resturant did not look clean. Even found a bug of the same type crawling on my arm when we got back into our car! Would not recommend.
