For our last night in Orlando we decided to hit up the local pool hall for some games and drinks, but when we first walked in we were hit with the smell of cigarettes/smoke. We thought it will be ok, but after our first game of pool and staying in the room for about 10−15min our eyes were burning. Thinking it would pass because the amount of fans, and on and off ac in the room. It sure did not help. We also had the server open one of the door for us. All it did was circulate the smoke around within the room. This place need a better air ventilation or just ban smoking inside, which will not hurt the business giving the fact that about 35% of the ppl there were smoking. From what I notice. Overall all I am giving it a 2 star, because of how fast the service and staff was.

I decided to check out backstage after moving back to the area, and my experience last night wasn’t really that great. The bartender provided decent service, and refilled our drinks fast. The biggest complaint I have with this place is that the draft beer that was served was of extremely poor quality. The special was $ 2 per draft, and the beer was always warm and had no head. As a server, I know this is because their carbon dioxide machine that pumps the draft is either broken, not cleaned, or both. Just an awful taste, and the owner needs to fix it. As for the billiards, the pool tables as described below are pretty accurate. The felt is warn, and one of the pockets on my table was broken/ripped. Every time you hit a ball into that pocket, you would have to go chasing it on the floor. Pretty unfortunate for a place that charges by the hour to play pool. Also, a mysterious $ 10.00 «deposit charge» was on my bank statement as I exited, which of course they neglected to tell me about. Apparently, if you pay with a debit card, even if you pay your entire bill, the establishment requests the bank to hold $ 10 for whatever reason, which was also a first. They also don’t have food, and they don’t have a jukebox either. While the music wasn’t bad, there’s usually a jukebox when you go to a pool hall, and I would’ve definitely liked to order an appetizer. All in all, I’m definitely not going back. You can tell that management hasn’t done anything to improve/renovate this place in quite a while.

I decided to check out Backstage Billiards with a few friends on a Friday night, as a goodbye celebration for one of our closest who was leaving for the military. The first thing I noticed when walking in was the amount of smoke in the air. You’ll walk out of here smelling like a dirty ashtray. If you’re allergic or prone to respiratory complications, do not come here. Albeit, a large pool hall with about 25 tables, darts, and flatscreens showing different games. The spot is a bit congested, right off of the Lake Buena Vista area, right in Orlando’s hotel district. What turned me off about this place were the ridiculously overpriced rates for using a pool table. I realize it was a Friday night, and there were a few of us in our group but $ 40 for two pool tables, involving less than 1.5 hrs of usage is excessive no matter which city you find yourself in. Some people in our group didn’t even play, yet we were all charged a flat rate as if we had. It turns out that there is a per person charge per table on a timed basis. Apparently the tables are free to use only on Wed. from what I was told by the bartenders. Typical O-town, tourist trap nonsense. I honestly should have known better, given where Backstage is located. I had high hopes for this pool hall, since it was our first time there, but was utterly disappointed in their overall setup of this establishment. The only good thing from our time there was the friendly and attentive waitress. Nothing else unless you feel spectacular paying $ 75 for three beer pitchers and two pool tables. Go somewhere else, honestly.

***TOTALFRAUDALERT**** STAYAWAYFROMTHISWORTHLESSEXCUSEOFANESTABLISHMENT… So here is an update one week after my already lame experience with this bar. I just reviewed my credit card statements and noticed a charge didn’t add up with what I had calculated for expenses last week. Seems like the bartenders too the liberty of adding a number«1» to the front of my tip to make the total $ 15.00 instead of the original $ 5.00 which was already 15% for crappy service anyways on a 30 dollar tab. I am so frustrated that I have to waste even more time doubling up on my already crappy review and calling my credit card company to file a fraud alert and a charge back(AMEXPRODUCTPLACEMENTHERE). I think I may also reach out to the ownership to give them a piece of my mind and have them check who was working the evening of Wednesday November 7, 2012… I am sure I am not the only person that has been hit at this place… … and its not about the money, it is the principle…

I LOVE all the bartenders here(esp. Pauly)! I always have a wonderful time here. To be honest, the only thing I can complain about is all the smoke… blahhhhhhh! Oh well, that def. doesn’t stop me from going to Backstage! =]

Specials Specials Specials! They have specials every night of the week. The place is the best pool hall to go to if your in the Kissimmee area. Plenty of tables to play on and a well serviced full bar. Its the kind of place I’d like to make my home bar but it just doesn’t have that personal feel. Everyone for the most part is just another drinker there rather than an enjoyed patron. Maybe it is something that will come with time. For now it’s a great place for playing some games but my home bar for drinks will be somewhere else. They have poker most nights, plenty of dartboards and pool tables. They run promotions every night. The price and style is right but the customer service is just short of where it needs to be. They’ll get you the drinks with out much hassle but won’t go much further.

This bar is obviously a great choice if you love to drink and play pool, but it’s also a great place to play darts as well. The drink prices are alright, but I would come when they have their all you can drink $ 10 deal(I think it’s Bud, Bud Light, something else, and Yeungling as your choices). The establishment is very well-kept and clean, and the staff is for the most part friendly and welcoming. The space is huge, so it’s great for small or large groups.

We were on a «staycation» the beginning of September, and went here about every day! We are pool addicts! We loved this place and wish there was one closer by us… we are in Winter Park, There may be, gonna check it out! They had free pool from 3 P.M. till 9 P.M.(everyday I think!) as long as you drink! Lol! No Problem!!! It’s a huge place and everyone was very nice. Beers were cold! And the drinks were awesome, didn’t seem to skimp on the liquor. They didn’t serve food of any kind, but not to worry, there is a Hooters right next door and they give you the number for take out, and the Hooter’s girls deliver your order right to your pool table. Really miss that place!!! Need to do staycation again!!!
