I love their bagels and bagel sandwiches! Great for breakfast. Some of their pastries are very good.

I take the train from the Oreland train station every morning to work. Today I decided to stop into Greenberg’s to grab a donut before heading to the train station. When I walked into the bakery the woman behind the counter had here back to and was texting on her phone. It took her a solid 5 minutes before she turned and acknowledged that I was standing there. Then when I asked for a donut she acted as if I was inconveniencing her. All and all not even worth my 90 cents for donut.

The first time I went here, they had no chocolate croissants OR Boston Cream donuts. Strike1 and 2. I settled for regular chocolate donuts which were good but very pricey. The 2nd time I went, there was a large male employee with a dirty apron standing by the front door smoking a cigarette. I turned around in the parking lot and went to another bakery. Never again.

I’ve been meaning to check this place out for awhile. So, they have soups, coffee, egg sandwiches and a few other things in addition to their baked goods. The fact that they have those things in walking distance to me warrants 4 stars.(That and they gave my kid a free cookie.) The soup(I had minestrone) tasted homemade but – was frozen. I know bc one of the girls that work there showed the frozen container to me. they defrosted it in a plastic container which food should not be frozen or defrosted in(think: Chineese soup container). The pumpkin cheese muffin – amazing. The serve-yourself coffee – a bit on the bitter side. I’ll come back to try their egg sandwich and french toast and hopefully have another star to give. Until then, it’s ok – but still an amenity that’s an alternative to the pizza shop. I really wish there was a homegrown soup/coffee joint in oreland :/
