I really want to like this place… I really, really do, but I don’t. My husband and I went there twice, once for dinner with mediocre results and thought we’d give the breakfast buffet a try on another occasion and were again disppointed. From the outside, the building is really cute. It’s an older historical building that has been tastefully remodeled. I love it when businesses preserve the history of a town and a building in this way. So I was hoping this could be a place that we could support and frequent often. The service is good, the food is not. It seems like the kitchen is taking a lot of shortcuts with prepackaged Sysco food. I was most insulted by the breakfast«buffet». The so called buffet consisted of what tasted like rehydrated scrambled eggs, sad looking bacon, limp pancakes, some sort of potato dish and fruit. If you want something extra like an omelet or an eggs benedict, that will cost you a few dollars extra. You know, because that will take time away from all the hard work their doing microwaving food to stock the breakfast buffet. Now I’ve had hotel breakfast buffets before and my expectations weren’t set incredibly high that day… but Weatherford’s managed to lower the standards even more than I thought possible. Seriously Weatherfords, have a little pride in the food you’re serving to your customers. Stop taking shortcuts, make a few things from scratch once in awhile. Please! I want to like you!

My husband and I got to visit Weahterford’s once for a quick dinner. The burger I had was excellent and the steak sandwich my husband had was equally as excellent. We planned to return as often as we could. I went to check the happy hour menu today and Weatherford’s is now closed! Oregon City loses a good restaurant in a town of sub par crap.

I stubled upon Weatherford’s while arriving to town waiting to make an appt. that was scheduled and had an hour to kill. It was dinner time and knew I should get something to eat but it was a Sunday evening and I refuse to eat at chain restaurants and there was a sandwich board sign outside that read«Gluten Free Food»…so I thought«HMMMM…I wonder what gluten free foods they have.» I went in and the atmosphere was very sheik and appealing. The bartender was very nice and brought me a yummy local, micro-brew beer and I noticed they had an extensive«happy hour» menu as well as two different times for people to enjoy their varied and interesting happy hour menu. I saw they had gluten free calamari and I was a bit skeptical being that OR City is not on the ocean and I could not imagine it could be all that good… so I ordered the appetizer size(3.95). Oh my God!!! Amazing!!! Not only was the outside crust seasoned nicely, nice light coating and NOTDRENCHEDINOIL… but the actual squid was NOTCHEWY… it was tender and oh… so delicious! I ignored the dip that came with the squid because, quite frankly, it didn’t need it. I ordered a second appetizer it was so good! Now I have never had calamari that wasn’t chewy! The first time I ever at this dish was in Nantucket, MA in 1988 and it was tough eating then. I also ordered a side salad that was equally as yummy… fresh baby mixed greens and the dressing was homemade and very good. Now…a few days later I went back and the bartender recognized me and asked me if I wanted to order calamari again and I said«yes». I must say, I would have given a 5 star rating if this time it was as perfect as the first time, but it wasn’t. A little bit of excess oil on the garnish from the squid. Oh well… it is still going to be a place I return to in the future.

I’ve been meaning to get in this place and tonight I ended up with no dinner plans. I had a couple glasses of cabernet and a New York steak Which I ordered medium. The salad came out pretty fast and was treated to a small loaf of bread. The dinner was delivered relatively timely and looked great on the plate. The steak was amazing and cooked as ordered. The staff was great and the building was really nice and clean. The upstairs is separate from the restaurant and bar and is for private parties. I was able to take a peek up there and was super impressed with it. I would recommend this place to anyone at any price point. While my steak dinner wasn’t «cheap» at just over $ 20, I think that’s reasonable for a good steak. And this was better than good. But what I really thought was cool was all the happy hour specials available. They had lots of little appetizers for a couple bucks and for a place this nice, that’s hard to find! I’ll definitely be back to try some Happy hour stuff and will report back. I just can’t imagine it being anything less than great! Five stars! Well deserved!

I have been going to Weathfords for over a year now for lunch, usually once or twice a week. I work in the neighborhood and they have a great daily specials that I get as a to go order. On average 50% of the time the order comes out wrong. I order all my dishes with no cheese or no mayo. 50% of the time they get it right and the other 50% they get it wrong. I think that’s way to high of an error rate. The management continued to try to make things right by replacing my food and buying several of my lunches for me. I do appreciate them trying hard to keep my business. Two weeks ago after the last mess up I told the manager that this is their last chance. Today my food was wrong yet again. I walked my food back to the manager and as he knew if my food was wrong I would no longer be coming back. They have lost a good customer that frequented the place 1 — 2 times a week, do to their cooks not being able to NOT put cheese or mayo in a dish. 50% error rate is to high. I told the manager to notify me when they replace the lunch cook, until that happens I will not be back and can not recommend anyone going there for lunch with that amount of food preparation errors.

I love Weatherford’s Happy Hour Dollar Menu:
Happy Hour: 4pm — 6:30pm and 8pm — close. When I used to live in Oregon City, I went right at 4 p.m.(no one was there, I read and just enjoyed myself). Don’t forget to order Chicken Quesadilla, it’s good even without the salsa or sour cream! My favorite — Asian Shrimp Salad, which used to be in HH Dollar Menu, now it’s 2.95, but it’s well worth it! I promise! NOTE: Kids can not be at the table during Happy Hour(my girlfriend, her daugther & I got«politely» kicked out before and I’m a loyal customer).

Was there for dinner and our server was very bland. IMO she definately didn’t earn the 18% gratuity, that was auotmatically billed to me, especially for a nice place. She was more of a 10% server. The busboy(?) and hostess however, were very pleasant and should’ve receieved the gratuity instead.

Still a great place for Happy Hour but that is it… sorry! Very sterile as Kip M. said! the entrees are just alright. Service in the bar is very good but the place just misses the mark! You know they are trying as they have signs posted on the cool windows, like a cheap chinese joint, trying to get you to come in… good luck because the location and building is cool but the food isn’t…

Very cool bar! Long, lots of glass and mirrors. My ‘3-star’ has more to do with the atmosphere, a little ‘sterile’. I agree with Mike G., a great happy hour but still working on the food.

My wife and I hit up Weatherford’s for happy hour last night and came away quite happy. Their $ 2 happy hour menu is about 8 or 9 items long… we chose six of those items and came away with a full dinner for two at a modest food price of $ 12. The good: Hamburger Slider — very solid little hamburger, fresh bun, pickle slice BBQ Pork Slider — excellent BBQ pulled pork on a mini sesame bun, accompanied with a side of cole slaw(which we added to the slider) and a pickle wedge. Fantastic! Sun Dried Tomato Sausage and Slaw — EXCELLENT sausage, on a bed of what I thought were beets(no you idiot… red cabbage) and peppercorns. REALLYGOOD! Root Veggies over Crostini — a very generous portion of diced root veggies(beets and other rooty bits) over four crostini slices. My wife freaked out over how good this was. Personally, I found the vinegar reduction to be a bit too plentiful. No worries — I still liked it. Home Made Potato Chips with garlic — These were great for potato chips, but I’m not such a fan of potato chips to begin with. Risotto um… logs? Hand formed risotto logs, breaded and deep fried, served with marinara sauce. I really liked this one, my wife not so much. But she doesn’t like risotto to begin with. Our service was Excellent! As a former bartender, I have an eye for talent when I see it. Our server was right on the mark — making sure her dozen or so patrons were in want of nothing, all the while remaining inobtrusive. Very good work! The bad: Nothing at all. The so-so: Nitpicking here… it was a little bright sitting at the bar. A few notches lower on the dimmer switch would help a bit. I think our $ 12 meal, along with 4 pints of Scottish Ale came to a total of $ 27. Great value — great food. We’ll be going back.

Great New Restaurant and Bar in a historic old location. The bar is beautiful. It’s like this 60 foot long hard wood, gorgeous bar. The dining is casual but very classy. Excellent Northwest cuisine. A banquet room is available for weddings and events in the back. It’s pretty and has a fireplace. I think they call it the«Fireplace Room» LOL, then there’s a small room with a huge table that I guess larger groups can use. Looks like it seats about 12 or so. Very friendly staff and I met one owner. Bartender remembered my name after one visit so I REALLY like her. LOL HAPPYHOUR! A must try. There are no drink specials but the food is incredible. A $ 2 happy hour menu from 4−6pm ranging from pulled pork sandwich and slaw to asian salad with prawns on top. Gourmet, good size portions for only TWOBUCKS! Good selection of micro brews and a huge selection of liquor. Try the chocolatini. It’s a work of art in a glass.
