Cracker Barrel has great food, the service is long on a day it doesn’t have anyone in there. I had cash to pay at the register and then the power went out. She let other people check out with cash and made me wait to pay with a card. Card swiped, boom I’m good to go. Next thing I know I’m chased down by the lady about how it didn’t go through and how I need to all of a sudden leave cash. I will never go here again.

I love Cracker Barrel… except the one in Matthews. The staff in the store area are always friendly but the waitresses are another story. The last few times we’ve been the service has been terrible! Then there’s the food… The portions have gotten very sparse and if you get a meal that’s actually hot, you’re lucky. The food is usually cold or barely warm. Between the portions getting smaller, the barely warm food and the bad service we’ve stopped going. I’ve even asked friends about going there and they all say«Oh no! We stopped going because the food and service are awful.» The corporate office needs to step in and work this location. The Cracker Barrel brand is too awesome to have a location this crappy.

Cracker Barrel is always a welcome sight. The food is great and the service is always friendly and smiling. This occasion and Jacksonville was no different. We both loaded up on breakfast for less than 20 bucks. How many places can two adults eat breakfast for under 20 bucks? That’s a win in my book.

The inconsistency of this location is terrible. My order right only about half the time. Not sure why I have to ask for toast to be toasted but I do. Portions are never the same. If you like surprises this is the location for you! Guess we’ll just drive a little farther and go somewhere else from now on.

I always like stopping at Cracker Barrel and checking out the gift shop, etc. Of course, the food counts, too. I ordered the good morning breakfast and boyfriend ordered bbq chicken dish. Mine was egg beaters, turkey sausage, cheese grits, some fruit, and I added biscuits to the order. Sausage was overkilled dry, but everything else was ok. For the chicken bbq, it looked as if there wasn’t much to it… the bbq wasn’t glazed on, it was just poured over a grilled chicken breast. He asked for sliced apples as one of the sides, and I noticed it looked like a whole apple which was sliced n served in the dish, but not cored. Server Jessica was very friendly and helpful.

I used to frequent this location quiet a bit until I moved to Mandarin a few years ago. It has always been consistent with the food, service, and all over atmosphere. The food is very good and reasonably priced. It southern style food so I’m a nerd and like to come here and get dumplings and fried apples cause it reminds me of breakfast as a kid! Also, lots of amazing things in the gift shop. And if you love the apples and pancakes they have an entire wall of retail items you can take home. Also, they have a nice assortment of cast iron cookware at awesome prices. Last Mother’s Day I purchased one for my mommy and put a bunch of the apples and pancake mixes and syrups in the bag and she loved it and still talks about it to this day! Cracker Barrel… awesome…eat there… shop there… just go for it!

We went here for dinner and had the worst experience I have ever had at a cracker barrel in the more than twenty years I have been eating at cracker barrel. Our server wss«JB» and I don’t know if he was new or having a bad day but he was terrible. We asked multiple times for different items that we needed to accompany our dinner and never received them even though ever time we asked he told us he would get them for us. We finally gave up and told him never mind because we shouldn’t have to ask him for the same item more than three different times and he told us he was sorry but he wss busy. He had a two person table that was eating when we sat down and another two person table that came in after our group of four came in. I paid for our dinner and then asked to speak to the manager and was approached by as manager«Brian». I told him what had happened and he told me he was sorry and would speak to «JB» and left it at that. I don’t know that I will continue spending my money at cracker barrel. I have one simple rule«if you act like you don’t want my money, you certainly will not get it». We all have a choice where we spend or hard earned money but need to be informed.

Based on food I’m giving this review 5 stars. Food was great. Service though, I’d give it 3.5 stars. At the time of dining in, our server seemed a little annoyed. Setting down drinks she kinda set it down pretty hard as if slamming it on the table. If we requested anything again she didn’t seem to thrilled. I made a phone order also at a different location and server was very quick to hang up with me, I had to call back to ask further questions in regards to my order I had placed.

Been to several Cracker Barrels throughout the country. This is by far the worst that I have been to. The service was so bad(started) with the waitress(mind you they weren’t busy) couldn’t keep tea in my son’s glass much less the correct tea. I ordered one item from the menu and she took it upon herself to order me the special since it was about the same so she thought. Thin slice to the manager is thin strips. Guess he just customer service not a kitchen manager. The manager said they would take my food back to replace it, my thoughts are really another 15 minutes? No Thank you! The macaroni and cheese was burnt, my daughter is easy going, and didn’t want to seem like she was complaining, so we didn’t say anything. But whoever the kitchen manager is doesnt know the difference between burnt food and browned on top. The waitress took the order and what looked liked to us was that she wrote it down, no not at all, she had to come back to the table to ask what else we had ordered. Although it’s not far from where I live and I love Cracker Barrel, I will be going to the one on Chaffee Road. It’s sad, I hope that corporate sends their training team into fix this particular store.

So sad, we love cracker barrel, eat here quite a lot. We have noticed lately, the service has gone downhill, and the restaurant is dirty. You are greeted at the front door with the smell of a wet mop mixed with airfreshner. None of our orders were hot, and one third of the order never came.

My family love Cracker Barrel bc the food is delicious and there is something for everyone. Our favorites are their muffins, Fresh Fruit n’ Yogurt Parfait, and cheesy casserole. It’s rare that we order something we didn’t like. If you’ve never been to one before, give it a try, it’s good ol’ comfort food. Check out their website for daily lunch and dinner specials. My kids love shopping at the country store while we wait or after eating. Service was ok last time we dined here.

I love the Cracker Barrel! The country store is one of my favorite parts because there is a lot of unusual things to look at, as well as candy! Anyway, my favorite thing to eat here is the hash brown casserole. I enjoyed the eggs in a basket, which is an egg over easy nestled in a piece of sourdough bread. Normally, I don’t like sourdough, but this was delicious! I would return!

Great restaurant. Very friendly and management usually stops by to check in. Fast service, hot food, clean, friendly staff. Plenty of parking and is convenient from the highway.

This place is amazing!!! We recently moved from California and had never been to a Cracker Barrel before we moved because we dont have Cracker Barrel in San Diego. The food is delicious with a lot of different options and it was really nice to be able to get breakfast at any point of the day. The servings are generous, quality high & the prices excellently reasonable. There are very few places left where 2 people can get dinner for less then $ 25 The waitstaff was extremely friendly and the country store had some pretty cool items also. I would highly recommend Cracker Barrel.

This Cracker Barrell is pretty much like the rest of them i guess. You walk in straight thru the gift shop with lots of knickknacks. Your greeted right away with friendly smiling faces saying good morning. But in this particular Cracker Barrel there is a weird sewage smell when you walk in. this is the only reason for a three star rating. I had to use the restroom but I was afraid to because of the smell. But I did anyway and oddly enough the smell was not coming from the restroom so I have no explanation… Kind of made me lose my appetite. But my dear old dad had his heart set on Cracker Barrel so we sat and ate anyway. I normally don’t order from the menu by their exact names. Like the uncle Hershels special or Old-timers breakfast. I normally just order ala cart. Which the three or four or five star waitresses almost always get it right. This particular day it was your normal scrambled eggs and bacon. Both very good, Bacon was crispy. But the grits need a lot of salt or sugar if you’re from the north. The gravy in the biscuits and gravy it is pretty thick too, I like it a little more runny. All this won’t stop me from going here though.

Always a good place to stop… especially on a road trip! Cordie, our server, is fantastic! Ok, updated review, I just took two stars away. We have been waiting for our food for almost an hour, no excuses kitchen minus one star! The table beside us was seated and the ordered at the same time as we did, has already eaten, paid and left, before our food arrived! The men’s room was deplorable. The worst that I have ever seen at a Cracker Barrel, minus second star.

It’s a chain, but a good, consistent one. Their food is inexpensive, but good, and the service is generally good. This is a good choice if you are looking for something inexpensive, fast, and predictable.

Not a huge fan of the long wait, we went after 2pm on a Sunday and they were still pretty crowded. The waitress also seemed to have a bit of an attitude, when she walked by delivering drinks a table mate was commenting on the wait time and she literally slammed the drink on the table… not quite sure if it was an accident or not. Aside from the service, the store selection was eclectic and fun to browse as always. The rocking chairs were relaxing and the food was yummy. I shared the Momma’s breakfast and Biscuits and Gravy with a friend. It was more than the both of us could eat. The French toast was amazing, the best I have ever had. Smothered in cinnamon apples and whipped cream. The amount of whipped cream was a little overboard in reality but looking at it was amazing! I will definitely be back for more!

I’ve never been a huge fan of Cracker Barrel, but this is my favourite location in Jax. Whenever my parents visit(they live in another state), it’s inevitable that we will eat here at least once. What can I say… they have a *thing* for Cracker Barrel. Even though we’ve had a different server at each visit, they have all been great. With friendliness and a smile, orders have been taken and served properly, and drinks have been refilled before reaching the bottom of the glass. The food always comes out quick and hot. Some of my personal favourites are the chicken and dumplings, the baked chicken, and the turkey and dressing. Hubby and my mother both rave about the hashbrown casserole(I’ve only tried it once and it’s just not my thing). I don’t much care for their biscuits, but the corn bread is super yummy(especially all slathered in butter). I should mention that some items(like the baked chicken and the turkey and dressing) are only available on certain days of the week. Take a look at this link if you’re interested in their daily specials: The restaurant is always nice and clean, as are the restrooms and gift area. I’ve never encountered sticky floors, tables, etc. I always take the time after our meal to walk around and browse the gift store. They have some really cute items; every now and then, I’ll make a purchase. You can also find some pretty good sales occasionally. If you happen to have to wait for a table, it’s nice to sit in the oh-so-comfy rocking chairs on the front *porch.* I keep saying I’m going to purchase two of the FL Gator rocking chairs — perhaps one of these days.
