Went there before heading to Lincoln for a Husker game. We ordered the nachos and a Bloody Mary and glass of wine. The nachos were the most disgusting thing I’ve very tasted. 2 bites was enough to make us feel ill. The chips were stale. The tomatoes were rotten. The wine tasted old and skunked. The Bloody Mary mix also tasted old. Not once did the bartender ask us if food was ok even though she could see we didn’t eat it. The place smelled of smoke. If I could give no stars I would. Nasty

If there were negative stars to give I would ! Walked in this place and sat at a table and got ignored for 15 minutes before we finally walked out… The room was not full but not a bar tender or waitress in sight… Will NEVER go back too many other good bars with good service to waste time here!

Atmosphere is boring and the service was very poor. Extremely dirty and stinking men’s room(more than likely from the broken urinal with a trash bag over it being neglected of repair). Many nice large flat screens but only one channel playing on half of them. Other half were off. Iv been working in the bar and restaurant business many years and have seen it all, or so I thought. Went to watch my buddy’s play an acoustic show at this establishment last night. Bar was busy but not hectic as many bars can be. They had one employee running the bar, one running tables, one bar back and one young blonde claiming to be a manager not doing much or anything. In my mind that’s a full staff. After having few drinks waiting about five — ten minutes for each drink, it was brought to my attention and the rest of the bars attention that the gentlemen next to me had not left a very good tip. The«manager» told everyone what the gentleman’s bill and corresponding tip amounted to and continued to harass him. I personally am a good tipper because of my work in the business and had been tipping with each drink. After politely standing up for this mans right to tip whatever he wanted and educating the«manager» on how to treat paying customers I was told to leave. Very unprofessional in my eyes, will never go back. Hope this helped, don’t wait your time.

We decided to try this place for dinner on a Tuesday night. The decorations are typical for a sports bar but it does have several large TVs and a nice fireplace. On this particular night the bartender was also waitressing(it was a Tuesday so it was fairly slow). She was prompt and attentive, though. My husband ordered a drink but I couldn’t find a beer list anywhere and the taps weren’t visible so I gave up and stuck with water. Their happy hour runs until 6 and it was close to 6 so I asked the bartender to verify that it was still running. She seemed a little confused by the question and stated it went until 6 but that she had no idea what time it was. They have a few appetizers that are half price during happy hour and some underwhelming drink specials, so we went ahead and ordered their bacon cheese fries, since they were marked as one of the happy hour specials. The fries were really good. It was a substantial serving and the fries were crispy and covered in lots of melty cheese and large pieces of bacon. They were served with ranch for dipping. For our entrées we both went with the special — $ 5 burgers(you can add cheese or bacon for 50 cents each). Since we had fries for an appetizer, my husband asked to sub a salad for his side and was told it was $ 2.95. This seemed really steep for a side salad upgrade but we figured maybe it was a good salad. It wasn’t. The salad was small and comprised of a bagged iceburg mix with cheese. I suppose that is what we get for ordering a salad at a sports bar, though. The burgers were alright, particularly for $ 5. They are good-sized and served on a great potato bun. The meat itself was clearly a frozen patty but you can’t complain too much for the price. I ordered sweet potato fries as my side and they were very good. Overall this place is pretty average. They have decent nightly food specials and we liked the happy hour bacon cheese fries. We might go back again because it is close to our house and the food is reasonably priced(probably won’t be getting a side salad again, though).

My husband and I regularly come here for dinner and/or drinks. The martini’s are delicious and the service is great. They have a variety of dinner options and I have yet to try something I don’t like. The atmosphere is exceptional with low lighting and TVs everywhere. Sometimes they bring in live music which is great too.

Traveled to town and stopped by to get some lunch. First off, this place does not smell(like mentioned in another review) and deco is pretty good. Lots of tvs to catch a game or two. Our group ordered a variety of items: beef quesadilla, fried pickles, cheeseburger, tater tots, and onions staws. All of which were really good and flavorful. Good portions and even took home leftovers! The Sunday barkeeper was very friendly and gave us great tips of what to check out while in town. Will go back for sure! Clean joint, great food, good atmosphere! Wont be dissapointed.

Went to Skyybox just for a beer or two on a Wednesday night. Place wasn’t crowded by any means but there were people there. Not a great beer selection, but I did see some decent liquor options. The chairs and décor are probably the best part of the bar. Nice, comfortable rolling chairs at the tables and even around the bar. Similar to DJs dugout on 114th in that aspect, but the chairs here are nicer. I saw they have live music every weekend so I’ll have to check that out sometime soon. Overall, this is a great place to have a relaxing social drink with some friends. Not loud and not over crowded. Missed out on 5 stars due to poor beer selection.

Décor reminds me of the movie Goodfellas. I ordered the hot beef sand. It was wonderful. Good price, cold drinks. Love this place. Will be back!

Dropped by for a Husker game last year and it took a couple of guy’s in our group an entire half to get their food. The worst part is waiting that long for food that is just plain mediocre. I didn’t notice the smell the few times that I’ve been there but I hadn’t been there since the excessive wait time experienced last year. It may be okay for a drink but nothing more.

I’m visiting a few friends in Omaha and Skyybox is near there home. When I walked in, the place smelled like an 25 year old Russian car with an escaped circus bear living in it. As we approached the bar, we asked the bartender if she smelled it too where she responded with a grimace and a «yeah, it always smells in here.» Not a great start, kids. As the other reviewer mentioned, Skyybox has tv’s with sports on, a few beers on tap, pool tables and a forgettable atmosphere — except for the smell. There are only a few reasons that you would come to this bar: 1. You don’t like who you’re living with but don’t want to go far. 2. You miss the smell of the circus. 3. You don’t like drinking alone. 4. Your ankle bracelet won’t let you travel outside the radius of this bar. Other than the smell, there’s nothing wrong with the bar, it’s just nothing special.

The Skyybox Grill and Bar is your typical neighborhood bar. Some may call it a «sports bar,» but I really think that may give the wrong impression. Are their multiple TVs that are tuned to sports. Yes. Is there a pool table(1) and a dart board(1?) Yes. So if that is a «sports bar» to you, then go ahead and call it that. To me, it is more of a catch all place(and that is a good thing.) The space is divided by a large bar. On one side there is the low top tables with comfortable lounge style chairs to sit in(along with stools that are next to the bar.) On the other side, there is a raised area with several booths, the low top tables again, and the comfortable lounge chairs that line the bar. Oh, and don’t forget the fireplace area complete with couches(see why you can’t call it a sports bar?) The Food: This is your typical bar affair. The appetizers are numerous. Try the nachos for a bargain, or get the wings(you get 10HUGE wings(and go with the Medium for that traditional«buffalo» flavor.)) The burgers and other sandwiches are on par with your typical bar food. While none of the burgers or sandwiches really stands out, you can count on getting a good deal and a good sandwich. The Alcohol: Tap beer is limited to three or four selections. A Boulevard Wheat or Amber-Bock is what you get if you are looking for flavor. One bonus are the frosty mugs the beer is served in. The alcohol selection is standard along with the proverbial martini menu. Tips: If you like wings, go on Sunday. The $ 0.35 wing deal is probably the best in town. Sure you can find the same price somewhere else but they are serving the tiny wings. Their $ 0.35 wings are enormous(and not to mention the great ranch dressing(yes I know… I didn’t say blue cheese so SORRY.)) As the Skyybox is located outside of the Omaha city limits it is not subject to the smoking ban yet. So be forewarned, it can get a bit smokey. And smokers don’t dismay, when the ban finally applies to the state, the Skyybox has a great outdoor area for smoking and drinking. In conclusion, the Skyybox is a solid neighborhood sports bar. If you happen to be out in that area or live there already, give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
