worst and slowest service ever, the attitude of waiter was soooooooo bad and slow. Normally u have to sit 15 min to get ur waiter.

Usually when I go to any restaurant, I would order their basic tradional dish. My thought is that if they can get this basic dishes right then their other dishes will be good. So the other day I ordered to go. Came in to pick up and saw that it was a bit slow. Servers were attentive and nice. I ordered pad thai extremely spicy and drunken noodles with average spicy level. The pad thai was bland and looked monochrome. It didn’t have the pad Thai flavor. Another problem was the pad thai was to be level 5 spicy. It wasn’t spicy at all. The drunken noodles were spicier. Now, the drunken noodles were great! It was flavorful and full of colors.

I don’t know much about Thai food, but our waitress was very helpful and offered good suggestions. Service started off a little slow, but I could see they were trying, not just being lazy, so I completely understand. We started with the crab Rangoon, which were very good and would highly recommend. We then moved on to the drunekn noodles and yellow curry. While I liked both, I would order the drunken noodles again, and possibly try something other than the curry next time. Not that the curry was bad at all, but I can tell that it’s not one of there stand out dishes(for my taste buds). We will be back soon, and I will continue to try different things.

I have tried to go here 5 times. The first time I went here I had their Garlic Chicken and it was delicious. The other 4 times I have tried to go here they have not even attempted to wait on me. One time we waited for 15 minutes to even be seated when they had virtually no customers and eventually we gave up and walked out. We have waited for at least half an hour at our table every single time at our table with having even being visited by a waiter or waitress. A couple came in after us today(and we had already waited for 15 minutes to be visited by a waiter), and a waiter waited on them instead of us. I love their food, but their service is absolutely terrible. It is by far the worst service I have ever had. I highly recommend going to a different restaurant like Hiro 88.

This place was okay, the mango carb Rangoon was good, and my Pud See Ew was okay. I think for Mid-West Thai this is probably pretty amazing, but I would avoid this place if you are from the West Coast and are use to pretty authentic Thai food. The flavors are close, but the rice noodles and other items that are usually made there at the restaurants you can tell are store bought here, and pretty chewy and gross. But like I said, if this is all you have ever known for Thai food, then this place is for you, it’s pretty good. If you are from a place with a million options for as close to authentic Thai food as is gets in the USA, then just don’t get Thai food in the Mid West, but if you have to, then this is your place. The restaurant itself is nice, and the service is good, a little slow, but still polite and friendly servers who make the experience enjoyable. The only downside to the restaurant is the acoustics, it is noisy! But other than that, it is a great place.

I stopped in for takeout dinner, to budget lately I’ve been getting food when i’m out for lunch and reheating for dinner at home later. I was saddened that Mai Thai charged me for dinner anyway instead of $ 9 for lunch, I guess lunch specials are eat in only. still, the Bangkok garlic noodle and beef filled the entire take out container and is quite delicious. the Thai iced tea was PERFECT. it didn’t take long for my food and I had encounters with nice servers. I really liked the restaurant. its lovely inside. I would come back again for the garlic noodle. its close to my that garlic pepper it just has the flat noodles that I really like. the restaurant is in a busy parking lot shopping area but has plenty of parking. turn at Qboda and keep going back. don’t forget the Eileens cookies when you are there.

Nice enough Thai place. Food was great, atmosphere was nice. We got the Garlic noodles, which were fantastic, not overly garlicky at all. Overall, I’d certainly come back. A pretty good place for being in a strip mall.

Great for take out. We got Pad Thai, Panang Curry with Chicken and their egg rolls. All were good and the spice level was perfect.

Everything was fantastic-except not a huge fan of the fresh spring rolls. The edamame and pad wun sen was incredible!!! I also loved the sleek décor-and the flower of an orchid on my entrée was a classy touch! I recommend this place highly-and if you like spicy-go for the 5 stars-I ordered 4 and wished I had stepped it up a bit. I like my lips to tingle after I’m done licking my plate ;):)

My husband and I went there to have dinner for his birthday. It was our first time to go there to try their food. We enjoyed the food. We ordered Egg rolls, Mango fried rice, red curry and for drinks we ordered Rum and coke and Jasmine tea. They poured too much rum in the drink but the food was so great that we let it go of it. The service was nice. They didn’t make us wait for our food. The only minus was that it’s cold if you sit near the door. Some people didn’t even take off their jackets the whole time they were there. Not pricy so we’ll go back there for sure.

The best Chicken Fried Rice in Omaha. Hands down. The Pad Thai is delicious as well. Great atmosphere, reasonable prices.

My usual fav thai place, Thai Kitchen, was closed on Sunday, and I had a craving for thai food, so my husband and I thought we would give Mai Thai a shot. We came in and were seated immediately, however the service was sooo slow. Not sure why since we were 1 of 3 other tables seated in the whole dang place. We waited for about 10 minutes to even have a waiter acknowledge us, and then once they came over, the girl who took our order said, «what do you want?» Not personable at all. As we waited for our food, 2 tables right in front of us sent their food back. At the table closest to us, the woman sat there waiting for her food(we overheard that it was cold) as she watched her husband eat his food. He ended up finishing his food and she STILL hadn’t gotten her food back! So they ended up leaving without her even eating! When we finally got our food, my red curry was a good temp, but by the time I was half way through eating it, I did notice that it had cooled off considerably. I’m not sure why, since I never have a problem with the temp of the food at the other thai place that I regularly visit. Along with this, the chicken was super dry. While we ate, we noticed that they didn’t answer their phones, since it just continued to ring and ring. On top of that, a couple people came in to pick up their orders and one of them ended up waiting for the entire time it took us to eat! Perhaps he showed up early, but based on everything else I had witnessed, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just didn’t have his food ready in time. I’m not sure how Mai Thai received the 2014 Best of Omaha award. Not deserved at all in my opinion.

Stopped in here for a late lunch on a Sunday in December. Mango Crab Rangoon were good. They’re really stuffed full and that can throw off your sense of what the fried exterior to creamy interior ratio should be. Once you get used to the huge amount of filling they’re quite good. Though, I didn’t get a lot of mango flavor from mine. You’ll note that mango is a theme here and they try and flavor several entrées and alcoholic drinks with it. It’s sort of their gimmick. Pad Thai was a bit one-dimensional. Usually Pad Thai has this multi-dimensional sweet, but savory and spicy too, flavor going on. Theirs was just kind of flat. You can order chicken, beef, or tofu. I chose chicken. It was cooked to perfection. Great textures. Noodles weren’t mushy. Vegetables had just the right amount of crunch to them. Chicken was moist, but scant(only had a few pieces that I could find). It was portioned well too. Plates are huge and so that makes a lot of their servings look a bit on the small side, but there was a decent amount of Pad Thai on my plate. Thai food snobs are probably rolling their eyes at my ordering Pad Thai(the Spaghetti Marinara of Thai cuisine), but that’s what I was craving. Since it is such a common(and extremely popular dish) you’d think every Thai restaurant would really want to hit this one out of the ballpark. Theirs was just okay. I have had other entrées of theirs(which I will not review here as its been too long to accurately remember and comment on them) and they’ve all been very good. Service was just okay. Not particular attentive, but they were friendly. Restaurant is very modern. Has that super clean minimalist design going on that is so popular with new restaurants. I think the atmosphere is a little on the cold side. Perhaps it feels different when it’s packed full of people, but there were only 4 other tables of diners in here when I stopped by. Also, they had a lot of the overhead lights turned off and were using the daylight coming through the front windows. Kudos for saving power, but that left diners with a cold one-directional source of light. I was casting a dark shadow on my menu making it hard to read. Prices are a bit elevated($ 13 for Pad Thai at dinner). You do get superior ingredients in your food, but I think you’re mostly paying for the décor. There are certainly cheaper places to eat Thai food. In fact, many of the best rated Thai restaurants in Omaha are cheaper than this place. I suppose they’re trying to create a certain atmosphere here with their décor and with their clientèle-filtering pricing. I don’t mind paying a premium for superior food and service, but I’m not going to pay for their interior decorating choices. Overall, good food. Service can be improved and Pad Thai recipe needs some attention. This is just a quick note to my fellow diners that were eating with me at 2PM on Sunday, December 28th, 2014: STOPSTARING! My God. I’ve never felt so self-conscious eating in a restaurant in my entire life. Every time I glanced up I was making eye contact with a fellow diner. Did everyone in there at that date and time just forget social norms? Don’t stare! My hair was combed, I was clean, dressed neatly, not making any odd noises or movements, and I haven’t grown a tail or a third eye.

If I could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of my life… this very well might be it. I know this is old news, but they have enlarged this location by renting the space next door and knocking down a wall. In the process, they’ve also updated their look to be modern, appealing and similarly dressed to the Aksarben location. One thing I’m sad to report is the prices have also gone up a tad and I believe they’re equal to the prices at the Aksarben location. Alternatively, I’m pleased to inform you that nothing has changed. Inside is clean, ambience is right, service is good, and food is STILL impeccable. You literally can’t get anything bad here. On my most recent visit(Tuesday evening) there were maybe 4 other tables and service was a bit slow. The reason? They had to go orders up the wazoo and I had to change which dish I was ordering because my server let me know it would take an additional 30 minutes to prepare it. Nonetheless, the food arrived quickly and tasted of perfection. I’m going there for lunch today so I’m very EXCITED!!! Also…try the Mango Bubble tea. They might have some of the best bubble tea I’ve ever had too.

This place is amazing. I’ve had at least 4 different things from the menu and have eaten there 6 — 8 times; never a bad choice. Always great food and great service. They just remodeled so it feels nicer inside that it looks outside. So go and have a good time.

Great service and great food. Was seated very quickly. Nice remodel job its very much more open now. Had the Crab Ragoon with sweet chili sauce and it was awesome, and then Chicken in The Mud dish. Really like the fried rice over the regular sticky white rice. The Ginger and Garlic Chicken dishes are good as well. Drinks are good too, carry a wide variety of beers, and or course, they can make you a Mai Thai!

I recently visited Mai Thai again and was pleasantly surprised by their renovation. The restaurant space has easily doubled in size, which really helps with the dining experience. I did not have to wait to be seated, even on a weekend night. The décor is lovely and more updated/modern than before. If you plan on drinking though, arrive early or come with a small group. Apparently they do not have a liquor/alcohol license for the new side of the restaurant(I think they combined with the building next door) so they can only serve alcohol on the original side of the restaurant. Humorous, but good to know! I’m guessing they’ll update that soon. The service this time was also much better than my last experience. Faster, more attentive and friendly. I got the panang curry again, which left the same great impression. I decided to try their drunken noodle with chicken, since I’m not a fan of their pad thai. I liked it better than the pad thai, but it still didn’t hit the mark. I love noodles, and can be pretty easily pleased in the arena, but the basil in the dish was so overpowering that I could barely taste anything else.

I really wanted to be able to give this place a better rating but the customer service levels really prevent me from being able to do so. On a positive note-the mango rangoons are DELICIOUS!!! The thai iced tea I had was very tasty as well! I ordered panang curry with chicken as my lunch item, spice level 3(they go up to 5). The curry had good flavor, seemed more watered down that what I prefer. The chicken had a really weird texture to it, perhaps it was boiled-I’m not sure-but it wasn’t my favorite. Also, apparently this place recently went through some renovations, I think the décor and ambiance are very sheik and can really entice customers to certainly give it a try on the fact that it looks good. I have been to Thai Kitchen as well as Taste of Thailand prior to my meal here and I would say Thai Kitchen has the best food so far.
