Absolutely delicious! Sourced locally, this is a wonderful place for brunch. I had the migas, the portion was huge and the taste was AMAZING! The coffee is delish too. We will return!

This was my first time here since it changed names again. I ordered the Huevos con Chorizo and I was very pleased. Being that I’m Hispanic, I am extremely picky but found that this place is a hidden little gem. They have a great menu and definitely will be coming back.

I’ve been waiting awhile to try out Hart’s Mesa, having been a big fan of Dino’s pre-debacle. I’m going to start by applauding the chef for having both black beans and refried as options. You see, I am a self-declared connoisseur of huevos rancheros. And it irks me when the dish either a) doesn’t contain beans or b) contains whole black beans. I don’t have anything against black beans– they are a lovely accompaniment to many dishes. Just keep them the bleep out of my huevos rancheros! Deep breath… The chipotle sauce is killer. Trust me on this– you will thank me. Lovely complex flavors without being obnoxious. Which can’t be said of the red eye gravy, sadly. The gravy was rather bland– but never fear, add some house-made hot sauce to that and you’ve got a winner. Service was attentive and friendly, we were greeted on the way in and while leaving by the chef. There are some good things going on at Hart’s Mesa and I’m looking forward to exploring the lunch menu in the near future.

What a great breakfast and brunch Café. We visited for our first time on Valentine’s Day around 11AM and waited probably about 10 minutes. We found this on Unilocal. Excellent hospitality, and impeccable tasting food and display. They are a tad slow, waited 45 minutes for food, but very polite and hospitable. Be patient. We received our drinks, coffee and orange juice, and enjoyed our food once it arrived. Coffee refills were complementary. I am giving it five stars because of the variety of food on the menu and the impeccable flavors. Very casual dress. Yummy!

I feel like I have struck gold with Hart’s Mesa. As a gold miner, they would keep their good finds secret. Well, I’m not a gold miner so I’m going to open my big trap and rave about this gem. We arrived soon after they opened and found a handful of tables already occupied. With much hesitation, we chose a seat close to a family that had two little ones. *We have decided that we are bad people because we hate dining with children.* Thank god they got their pancakes quickly. Food in tiny mouths prevents screaming or being unpleasantly loud. Back to business… Our server was really upbeat and was on his game with the coffee and water. Another server stepped in(she equally awesome) and took our order. The servers seemed to do a nice dance with each other – working as a team – as any well run restaurant does. The Migas were damn good. The dollop of fresh guacamole and pico made me real happy. My partner claimed his Huevos con Chorizo were fantastic. Neither of us wanted to share our meals as we were too busy relishing in the deliciousness. Bonus points for the server that skipped over the horrible Pandora? station that was originally playing when we got there(who the hell listens to Smashmouth?!). David Bowie and the Beatles carried us through the rest of our mouth-stuffing. Bravo, server. Bravo.

Yum. Chipotle Benedict was delicious. French Toast was legit. Service was very pleasant. Cute location off the beaten path. Nice café feel. Strong coffee.

Nice place with a lot of personality. The servers are courteous and the food was good. However, it took more than an hour to get our food AFTER we were seated. It wasn’t even that busy. The pancakes were also slightly undercooked and it takes forever to get iced tea refills. Very disappointed first experience. Hopefully the kitchen staff can improve. We will try again, but beware, if you come here expect to wait a very long time.

How do they have a 4 star rating? This place is fantastic. Coming from a Mexican family, I know my Mexican food, and one way I grade a restaurant is by trying their chilaquiles. Wow! The chilaquiles are the best I’ve ever had, even better than my mom’s! And my mom makes the best ones I’ve had(now they’re second). If you haven’t been to this place, go check it out. I guarantee you will leave with a full stomach and a grin on your face.

Located in a neighborhood off the beaten path, Hart’s has a warm home like atmosphere. The food is more of a fresh take on Mexican that authentic, but it works out well for great flavors. I did notice the tables in the back are immediately beside the bathroom so I wouldn’t sit there, but overall a great place with friendly staff.

Love this place, I’ve tried the huevos rancheros, Migas, breakfast tacos, chilachiles and they are all good! I like chorizo but I’m a bacon girl! Black beans or refried beans both are tasty, a little coffee and call it a morning! A fabulous morning!

I had a chicken burrito here and it was hella bomb. First of all, the display of the food was amazing and secondly, it was delicious. Only downside is the location barely has any parking.

The Good: — friendly, quick service(I went on a Saturday morning and it was packed) — nice atmosphere — tasteful décor — small menu, but seemingly good choices –solid vegan/vegetarian options The mediocre: — «Mexican» Food. This place claims to serve Mexican food, but I would classify this as Tex-Mex, at best. The food is over-seasoned with cumin on pretty much everything. This is a pet peeve of mine(because cumin does not go in all Mexican dishes), so I’m definitely biased here. — Chorizo: I spent the extra bucks to have chorizo, and I expected Mexican– style chorizo. What was on my plate was essentially spiced ground beef. I can see that maybe they wanted to go for a leaner, healthier version of chorizo. They should really put a disclaimer on the menu that it’s their take on chorizo. Overall: Ok prices. Good ambiance. Good service. If I visit again, I’ll make sure to order one of the American-style breakfasts.

I have mixed feelings for this place. The service is always friendly and attentive. Nice clean atmosphere. I’ve only been here twice so far and I thought the food was pretty good. My first visit I ordered the rancheros huevos, it was decent, lacked in overall flavor. The second visit I ordered the chicken quesadillas and they were soooo good! Loaded with flavor and yummy melted cheese. The chicken was very tender and you could tell is was properly marinated. The guacamole that came with it was a bit old and brown but still tasted good. My boyfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and it was extremely bland, the sauce tasted like water. The coffee is delicious though, I believe they use the mexican blend from Batdorf and Bronson.

I’m starting to see that Olympia restaurant owners are good at getting their friends to write reviews for them as the ratings do not stack up to the food. This place is clean with friendly staff and a good atmosphere but the food is not that good. It’s 2 stars. This place is not owned or run by anyone who has any Mexican blood in them and the food reflects this. It’s not horrible food but it’s not worth paying for either. A very disappointing huevos rancheros breakfast today.

I came for breakfast mid morning on a Sunday. The service was standard and I did not witness any issues regarding unreasonable wait time for a table or for food. I was quite happy with my food(breakfast burrito). Other people in my party had the breakfast tacos and pancakes which also looked great. One down fall… no children’s menu. I was kinda surprised. I will return for sure!!!

One star for service only. We went in at noon on a Saturday, it was at about 30% capacity. Waiter looked like he didn’t want to be there and told us he’d be right with us so we waited by the front. He never acknowledged us again. A couple walks in and the hostess/cashier greets them. That couple points out we were waiting first so we get seated. Again we were ignored by waiter, who took orders from the couple who came in after us and seated next to us… but not from us. After 5 more minutes of sitting there unacknowledged, with the hostess asking the waiter if he was going to take our order and him shrugging if off, we walked out. A grand waste of time driving there. Two thumbs down for poor customer service and non-communication between staff.

Fresh delicious ingredients, funky restaurant, great meal for a fair price! Great vegetarian and vegan dishes, tasty homemade house hot sauce, and many options that most Mexican restaurants don’t serve like Migas, Chilaquiles, and Mulitas. My partner had the Sweet Potato Rancheros and I had the Mulitas with their Vegetarian Chorizo. Couldn’t be happier with a lunch that only cost $ 24 and left us satisfied. We will be back! I was informed that Hart’s Mesa has been open since April 2015. They feel when they first opened they had a slow start, yet as time has gone on they are experiencing a steady following of new and regular patrons. Their take of Neu Mexicana-Americano is refreshing because they keep it simple by keeping everything fresh and to order. Their Vegan options are the same as the meat offerings. Everyone who knows me I like straight forward and fresh. No bells and whistles, they will just piss me off and you’ll lose a few customers or potential followers because I will post you straight up on Unilocal. So don’t pump me up with the chance of Homemade/Handmade then serve me canned. Hart’s Mesa didn’t post a fraud. They produced fresh made to order food that tasted Great. It was worth it and affordable. The service was outstanding. The coffee came fresh and hot. We deserve food and service like this. I recommend you make your way here if you’re in Olympia, WA.

ETA: over the last few months, I’ve gone back about a dozen times. It is fantastic. The only complaint, and it’s really a stretch, is that when it is wicked cold outside, it is wicked cold inside as well. Guess that’s the price for an awesome building. But the food is always a winner. Nothing but praise to the chef and staff! I’ve only been once, but that was enough to vault them to the top of my go-to breakfast spots. The chilaquiles were amazing, as was the chai French toast. I will be back as soon as possible to continue trying other menu items. The service was prompt and friendly, the location itself is adorable, homey, and inviting. Can’t wait to come back for more!

Yum! My best friend from childhood and I chose this place to meet/eat while we reminisced after not seeing each other for 22 years. Chai French Toast was really yummy. The coffee did not disappoint and the staff loves their job!(Hard to find these days, someone who likes their job!) Very unique place to eat with a great menu and historic story to boot! Go and check it out!
