I was drawn here by a review from a kayaker as they do not allow power boats on the lake. I just came for the day to paddle and possibly hike. The cost was $ 10 for day use, which is a little high comparably. The campgrounds are gorgeous and I would really like to come back and take advantage of that in the future. Many of the sites are waterfront! There is a nice boat launch ramp with a storage rack to lock boats if you are staying for a few days. There is a nice beach, playground, and picnic area which also leads to trails through the woods. Unfortunately while the campground up to the boat launch is pet friendly, the«day use» picnic area was not. Wasnt sure if the trails were dog friendly so I just stuck to my paddle. The lake was large and a pleasure to paddle on my kayak. Even on Labor day weekend it was peaceful. There is good fishing(with NYS license) and nice views of wildlife. It sure does not seem like a place that is right outside the business of Old Forge!
