Someone from TX who never used them for catering but posted a nasty review sounds fishy to me. I have been at over twenty events in Oklahoma City for groups such as Make A Wish, The American Cancer Society, Oklahoma Museum of Art functions, etc. and actually eaten their food every time. They are a fan favorite at the events because they have good food and can be counted on to provide the trained staff to support the function. Read the reviews for The Deep Fork Grill if you want to see what others say about the food from their operation as the same people prepare it all.

Deep Fork Grill? I would give it a solid 4 stars Deep Fork Catering(DFC)? If I could give this 0.5 star I would, but I can’t. I have been to Deep Fork Grill on countless occasions throughout the years and have enjoyed their food. One of my most memoriable dining experiences was with my husband and I on a Valentine’s Day evening. The food was amazing and service was impeccable. So of course, when my husband and I decided to tie the knot we put DFC at the top of our list of potential caterers. I corresponded with Wade Starr who is one of the owners of DFG and the man in charge of DFC. Right off the bat, I felt like I was talking to a car salesman. He is a casual business acquaintance with my mom and on the first conversation with him he knocks the price of his catering menu down 25%. Whoah! Seriously? You barely even know my mom, and you don’t know me. I instantly got suspicious because I believe that some deals are too good to be true. We worked out a proposed menu and scheduled a date and time to do a tasting. The tasting was a complete disaster. We show up to DFG which is where they would do their tasting and they had completely forgotten about their appointment with us. I asked the hostess at the front, and she went and grabbed Wade. I remember he looked extremely suprised to see us and hurriedly sat us down. After a little wait, the staff plopped down 2 or 3 appetizers which were actually pretty tasty. The main dishes that came out was a salmon dish, a beef tenderloin, and a filet mignon. All 3 were completely inedible because all 3 came completely overcooked. The filet mignon tasted like rubber and I had gulp water to eat it. I took one bite of the beef tenderloin and discreetly spit back into my napkin. That was the last nail in the coffin for us. Wade and I had a conversation about a month later after we had made our decision to go with Ned’s Catering(which was the best caterer ever) where I was trying to let DFC down gently. After I had told Wade that we were going with another caterer, he nearly demanded to know who and then proceeded to drop the cost of our catering menu down 40% instead of 25%. I couldn’t believe my ears, another car sales pitch! I just politely thanked him for working with me. I feel like if we had gone with DFC, our guests would have been served lemons, just like at a used car dealership. There is definitely a massive amount of improvement that DFC needs to do to operate successfully.
