Starbucks

This Starbucks is the closest one to my sister’s house. A pit stop here at this Starbucks is necessary to get a slow roasted ham, swiss and egg croissant sandwich for breakfast.
The unfortunate thing is this Starbucks located in Safeway does not serve breakfast sandwiches. The young lady at the cash register tells me that I have to go to the deli section of the store to order a breakfast sandwich. Safeway does not allow them to sell breakfast sandwiches. Yet they can sell other baked goodies (scones, croissants, sliced pound cakes and muffins). I can only speculate that Safeway does not want the competition from Starbucks in selling breakfast sandwiches.
I did not want to walk away without purchasing anything. Since I did a check-​in on this Starbucks, I purchased a croissant just to have some form of carbs to tide me over briefly.
Customer service was decent. The young lady assisting me was pleasant and helpful.
There isn’t much more for me to say except a stop here was a matter of convenience.

They have no tea, no cold brew and no ice coffee on a saturdat at almost 5. Sad sad. But they do have a really nice girl, trying her best to accommodate 6 ppl all by herself. Thanks girl!

She makes the best frapp for me but sadly i don’t see her anymore. so i know my drinks gonna taste off if someone else makes it so i just stopped coming here.

This is my to-​go to place for my green tea frappuchino fix with soy milk! It is located inside Safeway so if the check-​out lines are long, I can grab a frapp and drink away the wait! The only downside is that I can’t use my Starbuck rewards here.

I am changing my stars from two, to one. My reason for patronizing this Starbucks is only because, it’s close to home and the freeway before going to work. The best and my favorite Starbucks, are located on 5^th Avenue, the Embarcadero area, and in Alameda on Blanding street. Excellent Customer services there, and perfect brewing coffee. My coffee doesn’t taste like water down tea. But! this location inside Safeway, the Diamond District, the young people either don’t know how to brew coffee, or just don’t care. Yesterday, 4÷16÷15 on my way to work before 9:00am, I asked the young lady working behind the counter to do an POUR OVER Decaf for me. Using my personal cup. Once the pour over was completed there was numerous GRINDS floating on top of my coffee. I told her that I can’t drink my coffee this way and asked her to make it over. This time using a Starbucks cup, and then pouring the coffee over to my personal cup. She seem agitated, but did it anyway. There are only two staff members there, Ryan and there’s another lady there, I don’t remember her name, but she wears glasses and have blonde hair. These two, are the only people who seem to know what they are doing when it comes to brewing. I have come to the conclusion to purchase a Kerig Coffee Brewer, save money and start brewing my own coffee from home. When it comes to brewing coffee, or anything that I spend my money on, I expect quality taste, and excellent customer services.

Quick and Quality Service.
Not a huge fan of Starbucks but having this as an option while I grocery shop is better than nothing.

Just ok… Inside the Safeway. I had a no-​line experience to my grande house coffee. The parking lot was a little crazy when I was there… they have a recycling station and the queue contained all walks of life, including this homie sporting a retro 70s boom box with his bag o’cans. Feels like a 3-​star experience.

Im still giving this place 5 stars. I now realize, from reading other’s reviews, that Safeway hires the people behind the counter. So the workers are already at a disadvantage not being a certified barista. I’m confused as to why Starbucks would be okay with this, but it’s not the first time a large business has baffled me with poor decisions.
Behind the counter they do really try, for some, seeing «trying» matters. For others, that kind of touchy feely stuff means nothing if their coffee isn’t right. My coffee/​tea is always hot and yummy.

This is not the place to go when you’re in a hurry first and foremost, but if I’m here it usually means its my day off and I want a cup a of decaf (I know, I know, doctors orders, burn me at the stake later) I love that they make each cup of decaf individually, but unfortunately that means the line gets held up. So if you’re on your way to work and want to get in and out fast I would not recommend this location. The staff if always friendly enough and they work as fast as they can, but as a former Starbucks Barista myself I’ve gotta say, you need REAL baristas not Safeway employees. Starbucks trains people differently obviously and you need to be fast and efficient. Efficient they are, fast they are not. Also having just one person behind the counter at times is really unfair to both the worker and customer. The upside? Since its in a Safeway there is parking! Like a real parking lot where I don’t have to spend money, to go spend money inside a business in Oakland?! Who knew that existed?

Horrible service! Expect to wait even if the place isn’t busy. When I realized that customers who were behind me in line had received their orders I went up to the counter to ask about it, girl behind the counter told me that I had to wait for my order, told her that I placed my order before the person who’s drink she was in the process of making, she just shrugged, asked for a refund and went down the street to Peet’s.

Lets see… I like to stop by this location because its close to my mom’s restaurant. During the holiday season, I would always order the Caramel Brulee Latte, Peppermint hot chocolate, etc.
When they don’t have the seasonal drinks, I usually get my Passion Iced Tea Lemonade sweetened, Iced Green Tea Latte, or Green Tea Frap with no whip cream.
LOCATION: Inside of Safeway
EMPLOYEES: ehh… sometimes they are nice, and other times they aren’t. Actually, one of the younger female worker here is quite RUDE and always seems to have an attitude. She’s always chit chatting and SLOW SLOW SLOW. Other than her, the other employees are all really nice and friendly.

they have a mechanical flow
You get your cup of joe
And they’re pretty quick and not slow.
The location just doesn’t feel that great to me, but like all starbucks this one is cookie cutter as they go. Few tables though, but the staff seem alright.

I’ll be fair and just take off two stars. I love Starbucks but this one doesn’t know how to get my DCC frappes right. It’s always watery with no chunks of chocolate chips in it so after that happened twice, I know not to get anything from this location ever. I hate when my double chocolaty chip frappucino is over blended.

For the 10^th time in a month, I walked in and turned around and walked back out, because they have some special needs courtesy clerk working back in the kiosk instead of a certified barista. I have let this kid screw up my coffee for the last time, now when he’s working, I just leave and go jump in my car and drive to another store, or go home and make a pot for myself. The only reason I like going here in the first place is because it’s within walking distance of my home, and I don’t like to drive half awake.
If Safeway wasn’t so cheap, they’d hire someone to certify, instead of sticking some poor simple kid in there at minimum wage.
The manager seems like a deer in the headlights type, she tries to go so fast that she forgets to do things, that if she was just a little more careful and methodical, she’d still get the drink made accurately and in a timely manner, and appear less panicked.
I’ve been told by several employees that this is the lowest ranked Safeway in the entire chain, and they can’t seem to figure out that it’s not just about volume, it’s about repeat business.

when i first started coming here, they would ruin my drink. NOW after me training them, they get it right every time!!!

I come here with my sister about once or twice a week in the morning to get some coffee. There could be better service… i mean god its like breakfast… and people going to work time! duh people are going to get coffee… only one person working to serve a line full of people!?? i stood in line for a good 20 mins before i even got to order! there were only two people in front of me! damn taht woman name GIGI takes her mighty damn time. she made me late for class. ANDD she also spilled my sister’s coffee.

I usually stop here on my way out of town as it’s super close to the 580 on ramp on Fruitvale.
I’d say this Starbucks is actually just fine. True, if you are real starbucks addict, I wouldn’t count on them getting your triple venti non-​fat no-​whip mocha correct.
They’re not particularly fast either, but no one is ever in line, so it never takes long.
The workers are super friendly and I can ring up any other non-​starbucks breakfast items at their register as well.
As far as Starbucks go, this one does the trick. Nothing special, but nothing terrible either.

If I could give them zero stars now, I would. Despite a very brief improvement, they crashed and burned this last time. They overcharge me EVERY time I order a quad venti iced mocha. This last time they messed up when I tried to pay and the second time they tried it, they forgot my Gold Card discount. And then they forgot our extra shots.
I’ve sent emails to corporate and either they do not pass on the criticisms or the employees just don’t care. NEVER have these kind of problems with the regular stores, just this kiosk one. We’re done with this location and will be making our own at home from now on.

Its just another Starbucks in another Safeway. Only opened a few days ago and they are already off to a bad start, my mocha was absolutely tasteless and disgusting. But I’ll give them a break, and I’ll change my reivew in a few weeks.
