Good food a good price and great service. One of the few spots to stop off and grab a literal quick bite to eat.

This place is great! I don’t work close by(it’s a bit of a walk), but it’s worth it. There are many options of Mexican restaurants near my office near 19th St., but I come here for high quality food and high quality customer service. I always order a Carne Asada burrito, so I can’t say anything about the other foods choices here. I have to say though, the burrito is big enough for one sitting, rich in flavor, yet not too salty. The contents are perfectly wrapped, so there’s not much grease, and don’t have to worry about a mess as you’re enjoying you meal. That’s how it’s supposed to be when you’re eating.

I’ve been to both locations(the other on Telegraph), and while the burritos at this locale are bigger(whereas the Telegraph locale has one of the smallest burritos around) it’s totally unfair to charge $ 1 for extra rice in exchange for no beans. The cashier even apologized he would get in trouble if he didn’t charge me. The food is average and not bad, but due to the pricing and portions my overall rating is 2.5 stars. BTW, I will not go back to the Telegraph store because their burritos average 1⁄8 smaller in size. If you don’t want beans in your burrito both stores will not compensate by giving more rice(unless you pay the $ 1 extra charge) so you wind up with a very small burrito which resembles more of a baby burrito. I can understand charging $ 1 for extra meat but not $ 1 extra rice in lieu of no beans. I go to the 14th St. store basically when I’m in a hurry and need a quick bite.

This place used to be good(at least the chips and salsa still are). My experience here made me never want to come back. I ordered a burrito and a drink. The drink tasted strongly like a chemical cleaning agent and the burrito was very dry on the inside. I got a rash on my hand, a stomach ache and a headache after only two sips of the Guayaba drink(which I promptly threw out) and to make it worse I’m still feeling it this morning. I normally don’t get headaches and rashes, especially directly after eating something. This merits further investigation, but do I really have the time? If there were chemical cleaners in my drink, I only took two sips so I think I’ll be fine. But why ever put myself through that risk again?

This place is awesome! I love their Shrimp Burritos, Carnitas Burritos, and Fish Burritos. Great price. The amount of food you get for the price is so worth it!

Their Carne Asada Fries had no flavor at all, and the fries were soggy. It was pretty dirty in there too…

Good food, huge portions for a great price. Not a fancy place but a damn good taco or burrito to go place. Awesome salsa bar!

Love this place. Super delicious and hearty burritos. They don’t go lite on the fixings, including avocado and sour cream. The $ 8 burrito is always enough for 1 meal and then some leftover for me. Salsa bar delicious, though watch out for the bright day-glo orange(habanero?) salsa… seriously scalding… and delicious. Best burrito place I’ve found in downtown Oakland near 12th St. BART. Typically pretty fast-less than 10 minutes to get your food from when you enter, often quicker.

I absolutely love this place! First of all, the amount of food you get for the price you pay is so worth it! I ordered a super burrito and ate only half and saved the rest for dinner. It was loaded with Avocado, beans, rice, meat, and sour cream. They were not stingy with the avocado either. Now that’s a plus. I also had their carne asada taco, it had so much meat! Their habanero sauce, or orange sauce is amazing. I never had a hot sauce from any Mexican restaurant burn my head and mouth off. I was panting, but the burn was so worth it. I would do it every day if could Don’t let their small shop and long line fool you. The staff works at lightning speed. The line goes really quick.

I don’t like how they microwave the food when you order Nachos or a Wet Burrito or any other item. The girl cashier has great customer skills but the people actually making the food give you inpolite stares and act seriously unorthodox. The shrimp burrito is probably the best if not the only thing that is actually good on that menu. I also hate the fact that the restaurant is surrounded by homeless, crack heads, dope dealers, and gansters that I personally witness carrying guns as early as 10am, eventhough, there is an FBI head quarters building across the street.

Regular tacos are crazy filing. I could have stopped at two. And we just walked over from the 24 Hour Fitness. Olé Olé burrito is great, but the super burritos with the sauce are prefect. Crazy filing, and great deal. And their salsa bar is so good they ration cups(but you can always fill your to-go containers).

This is probably my favorite spot for Mexican food in Oakland, especially since it is so close to work. It can be pretty busy here during lunch time so it’s probably best to come here afterwards. The super burritos are a good size and they add half of an avocado to it! I definitely recommend the carnitas and chorizo. They also have fresh salsas and that habanero sauce is killer.

YOOOOO… The shrimp burrito is bomb! Fast, delicious and they don’t skimp on the shrimp.

This place is messed up. My wife asked for a taco salad with no avocado. Because she is highly allergic. They still put avocado on there and she said something. Even though she told the cashier her condition, all they did was scoop it out and the cashier my wife the rolling eyes. We’ll never go there again. It seems that they don’t really care if someone has a fatal allergic reaction in their facility.

Beware of what you order here! I was excited when they started offering«100% vegan options». However, the rush and throughput here mean mistakes are almost certain. On my first visit, I ordered the burrito, and the girl did in fact ask if it should be all vegan. However, they did miss out lettuce and tomato. No biggy, it was actually pretty good apart from that. Today, I thought I’d give them a second chance. I did ask what was in the«vegan steak taco salad» — turns out he wasn’t even clear what I was ordering(it’s taped on the back of the register!), and somehow I knew given the rush they’d mess it up. The order came with sour cream and cheese. So I had them remake it, and it was made again, with cheese. At that point I got a refund and left for a salad elsewhere. Also, for the people giving me looks in line — shame on you for making me feel like second-class for sticking to my guns with my healthy food choices. Nice idea, but completely failed exectution. Won’t be going back.

Easily one of the best shrimp burritos I’ve ever had. I first discovered Olé Olé a couple years ago based on the great Unilocal reviews and I loved it. Though I’m not often in downtown Oakland, from time to time, my craving will be so bad that I will go out of my way to come here. The shrimp is good, and the super burrito has everything you’d want in it – grilled peppers and onions, cheese, salsa, avocado, sour cream. and I add jalapenos. As a testament to how much I love it, once I devoured it so quickly that I cut my lip on the foil. Yup, that happened. Great Mexican food at a great take-out place(there’s also another location on Telegraph where there are tables and such if you want it!), and of course, you get free chips + salsa(just ask if they don’t give it to you)!

Surprisingly good. Fast turnaround and a quality burrito. I always ask for no rice and my super burrito was still well-stuffed. Couldn’t finish the whole thing in one go. Salsas are markedly more spicy than across the bay. Next time I’ll try the horchata — definitely would go back when in the area! Big bonus points: ordered a corn quesadilla on the side, and got about 3 tortilla’s worth of cheese(picture attached). Greasy hands but a happy stomach.

This place is around thr corner from Happy Burrito for those that frequent HB. I’d say the quality and taste are better than most burrito spots in downtown. The super burrito is filling with your choice of protein, avocadoe, sour cream, choice of beans, rice and cheese. Some parts of the burrito were kind of cold most likely due to the avocadoe. They give a small free bag of chips and have a salsa bar with an array of choices. For $ 6.38 with tax, not a bad place for lunch!

Tiny downtown spot with seriously big food. I am in love with one dish from here, to the point that I can’t really review anything else just yet — every time I have visited here, I have ordered a regular shrimp burrito. The shrimp is fresh, not overcooked and generous. The refried beans are not bland or soupy, and the black beans, if that is more your thing, are well cooked without being mushy. And, they put corn in it! Corn! I have missed having corn in my burritos while living in the Deep Fried South for so many years. Service is generally quick, but lunchtime can run a little slow, because, y’know, 20 hungry people ahead of you want to get fed too. The portion is huge, the price reasonable and not an eyelash was batted when I, as an unfortunate«soap-taster», asked for no cilantro. This scores quadruple points in my book. I found the salsa bar to be okay with 8 or so selections, and it was very cleanly kept. Admittedly, due to cilantro issue I only sampled the habanero stuff. It was hothothot but such a delicious burn… Tasty! Just don’t drench your meal in it unless you like pain, and sinuses opened up large enough to allow an 880 rush. Oh, and the gratis chips they offer with your order are pretty yummy, too.
