This shop is a good one — an excellent selection, easy to find things etc. But what makes it special is their staff member Barbara. I tell you, that woman knows her stuff. Every time I go in, I wait for her to help me and she never steers me wrong. She’s recommended the right shampoo, hair products, nail polish and is expert at how to use hair color.
Good shop and with Barbara — the best!

I was in today and Holly took such good care of me. She was full of good information, kind and patient. I love all the products in the store but do wish they would give more of a discount, I get really tired of those loyalty cards!

My roommate and I recently dropped in on the spur of the moment and ended up spending an hour getting awesome advice and a tutorial on foundation application. Mariah was a rockstar – professional, friendly, patient and super helpful. She really knew most of the store inventory (she fessed up when she didn’t).
My friend walked out looking like a model with the perfect match for her skin tone – the best I’ve ever seen, and we both learned how to apply the makeup like a pro.
I have «mature» skin, but I’ll be back to let Mariah do her magic on me too! Go see Mariah, you won’t be sorry.

This is the Beauty Center location that is closest to me but not my favorite. The service is inconsistent. I have had great service here and terrible service as well — so bad that when I was returning a product the girl at the counter credited it to my card then proceeded to bag it for me to take home… Duh. She wasn’t event that embarassed when I pointed it out.
On the other hand I found the best styling product ever from a suggestion of one of the workers.

Great place to shop when you’re looking for anything related to beauty. Let it be cosmetics, hair products, whatever, this is the place to go. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, nice, and really care about their customers.

They always have such great stuff. Since I am a bit of a nail polish junkie, I am especially fond of their nail polish selection, which consists mainly of OPI (one of my favorite brands) and Zoya. They have a lot of OPI’s colors, plus their latest collections, though they were very picked over when I went here on a Sunday.
The only thing that really bugs me is the lack of prices displayed. Not the best if you want to keep social contact to a minimum! And sometimes there isn’t anybody available.

I USED TO shop regularly at the Montclair beauty center and have since the 80’s when they had a store on Chestnut, but will never shop there again. I bought a hair product there and the pump went bad with 7⁄8 of the product left. They would not replace the product because I didn’t have my receipt — even though for one, they have everything I have purchased on the computer frequent shopper card AND two, the girl who recommended and sold me the product was at the counter when I asked to replace it! She was downright rude. Take me to Sephora!

I’ve been a Montclair Beauty Center customer for years, but no more. First, they refuse to honor my purchase card because they changed their policy to an automated system that did not accommodate loyal customers. Bad business decision from corporate headquarters.
Secondly, the store used to have a knowledgeable staff, always friendly and ready to help out. My past few visits have been met with indifference and sometimes downright rudeness. Evidently, hanging out with other employees and gossiping takes priority over customer service. Needless to say, I am no longer a customer. I see bankruptcy in the future for this formally great store.

A wall dedicated to OPI, Essie and Zoya. There is more OPI than essie and zoya combined. But that’s a good thing. The SA’s are very helpful and greet you when you enter the store. Want a swatch? no problem. they’ll swatch it for you and even put the swatch on your nail to see if you like it. excellent customer service!

I always shopped at the Beauty Center, as far back as the 1980’s. I have always loved shopping a local stores. Recently, I purchased some hair products that did not work well on my hair. I threw out the receive and the Beauty Center changed there return/​exchange policy. Too bad. I would have thought that they would have exchanged the products, as I have always been a loyal and regular customer. It is great that they are local and in the neighborhood, but they have very strict policies if something doesn’t work out. With products so expensive these days, you might want to consider a different place to shop if on the rare occasion something doesn’t work.
I thought the service today from the manager in the Montclair location was below standard.

Not only do they have every single product you will ever need or want, the salespeople are actually knowledgeable about what they stock, and can make great recommendations.
Add bonus points for the hair salon and lady that does nails. Truly one stop shopping!
