Loved the food! I had the wide noodle tofu pad thai, the yen ta fo and my dining partner and I shared the combo appetizer plate. They accommodated us by changing out one of the appetizers in the combo as neither of us eat pork. There was no issue with asking for a replacement and the food was brought to us very quickly. I love Thai food and will be eating here again. Great casual dining and friendly service!

Absolutely delicious. Specially if you are a fan of spicy dishes. Singapore noodles, new pot something noodles. Can’t beat the prices, lunch special is on point as well.

I didn’t give 5 stars because I haven’t tried enough of the menu yet! I’m a big Thai soup fan. They have really hit the money with many of their options, some of which have cycled in and out of the menu over the years. They have a Tom Kah Gai soup that is the best in Oak Park. I used to go to King and I or Mama Thai for that, but I like New Pot’s the best, Mama Thai a close second. Their appetizers are also top notch, not the typical cheap fried crab rangoon and other items that so often are resorted to to save the restaurant a few $$.

So glad we found this place, the freshest Thai we’ve found so far in the area! Very happy with all dishes, items indicated at spicy were 3⁄5 stars spicy. We had: cucumber salad Tom Kah Chx Basil Kee Mao

I’ve been coming here for at least 10 years. Tasty fresh hot dishes, inexpensive, decent proportions, friendly servers, calm atmosphere, clean place There’s hardly ever street parking off of Lake and Oak Park Ave but there’s a garage near by where you can enter from the back of the restaurant Never had a bad experience… Will continue dining here when I’m in the neighborhood

This is where our Oak Park family goes for Thai/fusion dishes. Our son is a teenager and we have been coming here since he was a baby. The staff are always friendly and service is quick. They have an excellent selection of noodle dishes and we are also fans of the chicken satay, the shumai dumplings, and their hot soups. They have bubble tea and rumaki sodas for the kids and yummy thai iced coffee for the grown ups. A perfect place for a quick lunch or a leisurely family dinner. Inexpensive and authentic– we’ve never had anything but a good meal here!

We’ve always had great service at the restaurant but had not so good service when we tried to use their delivery service. The have a great lunch deal with lots of options. Vegetarians have so many choices here and they will adjust the spiciness which I appreciate. The portions are generous. Our family loves the Tom Kha soup in the middle of winter and the New Pot rolls in the summer. The noise lever is moderate so you can plan on being able to talk with friends. The only warning I will give is that the restaurant can be VERY hot in the summer. We keep hoping that they will get some AC in there. On more than one occasion, we’ve done carry out because the restaurant itself was an oven.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a great Thai place to eat and we found New Pot. The appetizer were amazing. The place seems pretty nice and clean. We have also order here for deliveries and it was a decent price. Overall, great food and service.

I ordered the Filipino Pancit which I was excited to try but it lacked meat and there was more noodles than anything. The Mongolian Beef was good.

Oh gosh, I wish I could give this place a more positive review, but reading about Jenny C.‘s roach sighting is making me squirm. Today I had their New Pot(summer) rolls and a small wonton soup for a late lunch. Everything came up fast and fresh. The soup contained two small pork wontons, quite a few thin noodles, a few leaves of baby bok choy and a few shards of barbecue pork in a tasty broth – delicious. The summer rolls(three of them) were overstuffed with glass noodles, but the ingredients tasted fresh and the sauce was perfect. Then there was the price. I missed the lunch menu by minutes and paid $ 12 for those two items sans beverage with no leftovers. Hmm. In all, it was a nice, albeit pricey, treat. But now I’m grappling with the bug sighting. Yes, many restaurants and vintage buildings in Oak Park have roaches, but…

Been coming here for several years now. Fantastic lunch menu all for $ 7.99, soup, appetizer and entrée. I go there at least once a week as long as the weather allows.

Order food for lunch. Food was okay but the guy who took my money had a bad attitude. I asked him for a plastic bag. He gives me a old used bag. I told him I wanted a new that’s unsanitary. He threw the bag and rolled his eyes. I’m good. Bad attitude. Bad service #bad business.

It was my first time ordering food from this place. I got the New Pad Kee Mao based on a Unilocal recommendation. The only thing good about it was the duck meat. Otherwise, just spaghetti –not noodles– in watered down sauce with big chunks of veggies not cooked well enough. Cost me more than the average Thai food orders I’ve had from the area. Like many already wrote here, with much better options in the area, you can skip this one. Should I ever order again from this place, it would be to get more duck.

Good food, great service, but the roach that we saw on the wall on our way out ruined the whole experience for me. If you don’t mind the roach sighting, I would recommend ordering the following: — Pad see ew(beef): The noodles had the right thickness and springiness. Could have used Asian broccoli versus American broccoli. But overall a good dish — Roasted duck curry: Right amount of spiciness. Plenty of duck meat and veggies in the curry. — Fried and fresh spring rolls were good. BYOB so bring lots of beer to go with your Thai food.

Finding a good Thai restaurant in the oak park area is proving to be difficult. The first time I ate at New Pot it was pretty good but this second time has proven otherwise. I ordered cashew chicken and my friend ordered pad Thai with beef. The dish tastes good and garlicky but the chicken was old tasting and tough with a lot of grizzle. The beef in the pad Thai tasted old also according to my friend.

A random stop in with a surprisingly large lunch menu for $ 7.95! I had the green curry with tofu which tasted great. It came with a soup and an appetizer. They accommodated their appetizer and soup options to make them vegetarian friendly! They gave me the fried tofu instead which was a pretty decent portion for a lunch menu item. It’s a great deal for some quick thai!

I’ve been ordering and eating from New Pot for years. Its always good although the service when dining in is a bit sporadic. The food is always fresh, tasty, with the right amount of spice and cooked to order. I prefer carry out or delivery. Regardless, it truly is my favorite consistent Thai food in the area.

This is one of my husband’s favorite places to eat in Oak Park, so we stopped in for lunch one day when we were in the area. I was surprised that as long as this place has been here that I had never come here. When we arrived around 11:30AM the place was pretty dead, but our server was very attentive and friendly. We each chose one of the curries from the lunch specials(I had Panang Curry). The lunch specials each come with an appetizer of the day and a bowl of soup. I wasn’t crazy about the soup but the spring roll I got was great. We also ordered an appetizer of the shrimp rolls which were out of this world good. My curry was perfectly spiced and delicious. It was also the perfect size for lunch, which I appreciated. If I lived in this area, I could see myself coming here often.

The 5 stars is for one dish. That is all. One dish and one dish that would be on my short list of meals to have for my «Last Meal.» Like, if I were being executed or something… this dish *might* be the one I *have* to have. It’s their New Pot Kee Mao. I get it with chicken, tofu and shrimp. I lived in Oak Park for a few years 7 years ago, and this was my go-to meal on Friday nights. It is AWESOME. I don’t know what it is they put in there that makes it so damn tasty, but I can’t get enough of it. Thin egg noodles stir-fried with the above proteins, carrots, tomatoes, green peppers, onion, egg and other veggies. Not sure what’s in the sauce but it’s slightly sweet and spicy yet savory and salty at the same time. It’s not a thick sauce… more just a sheen of delicious flavor covering every square millimeter of the dish’s ingredients. I LOVEIT. And it was just as good 7 years later as it was the last time I had it. I also got the Lumpia Petite Rolls for an appetizer. Crispy and delicious, especially with their sweet, syrupy dipping sauce. Ugh. Makes me wish I still lived in Oak Park. The rest of the restaurant? Who cares. Slow service? Don’t care. They could serve it in the back alley on picnic tables and I’d still give the dish 5 stars. So. Good. That is all.
