I am VERY impressed with the pricing and the service I have received at the Sears optical store in Oakbrook Center. I have ordered several pairs of glasses there with good results. Late last year, I returned with a new prescription, ordered a frame I liked, and paid much less than what I would have paid at the optometry shop operated by my ophthalmologist. Unfortunately, the frame turned out to be a poor design for me. Because of my strong prescription, the lenses caused the frame to distort, spreading the temples apart enough so the glasses didn’t fit securely. After a few months, a technician noticed that a spring in one temple had broken; she ordered a replacement. The second pair was also too loose, and after several attempts to adjust it for a tighter fit, a third frame was ordered. Like the others, this one didn’t fit well, either. Finally, I returned the third pair to the store, chose a different frame, and made a new order. More than nine months had passed since my original order, well beyond the warranty period, so I fully expected to pay for the new frame and lenses. But to my surprise, the technician I worked with offered to order the new glasses at no charge, as a courtesy. The new frames fit well, and I’m very pleased with the service and the patience shown by several store technicians during this period.

I get GREAT service here. I hate that I don’t live close anymore. I tried out vision works what a nightmare. You get real customer service here. The ladies are always very friendly. They helped me out countless times with my contacts. I’m notorious for ripping my lenses. Or ordering them on the late side. They been kind enough to supply temporarily pairs more then a few times. They never rush you and are always helpful with pricing. I had to get my prescription faxed to different places they always send it as soon as I call. I find that very refreshing as it usually takes places forever to fax.

I was referred to this place by my cousin that is wearing contact lenses just like me. I went there to get new lenses because i was running out. What is really annoying that every time you need to get new contact lenses you have to get the full eye examination. Over and over again. My eyes haven’t been changing since 10th grade and still i need the examination not only for contacts but also for glasses too. Arghh… And they also perform unnecessary tests like eye pressure test, etc. Sadly every medical institution here in US is quite ridiculous. They are not an exception. 3 stars for the friendly doctor.
