Great place. Great food and good service. Would absolutely recommend. Have been there twice in 2 months with the same, great results.

We visited this restaurant in April 2016 and I had the porterhouse, my mom had the ribeye. We enjoyed mashed potatoes, asparagus and steak fries. Everything was good, service was good. No complaints. Nice steakhouse, not overpriced and quiet setting.

The steak was good, but not a great steakhouse worthy. Had their big steak meant for sharing along with a couple of sides. It was enough food for two very hungry or three normally hungry people. A very rude and unwelcoming waitress dragged the experience down for us.

The strip steak was very good. The T-bone was average. The salad with the blue cheese was very average –or below average, the tomatoes with onions with steak sauce was very disappointing. We had some wine by the glass, the Red Zin was very good. The chocolate molten cake was good for dessert. The service was not great, as the waiter seemed to wish he was somewhere else. The atmosphere was a casual bar type atmosphere. We will not likely return. (Wolfgang’s is still our favorite steakhouse in NYC!)

Had a wonderful meal this evening. Had the petite filet and it was the perfect flavor. Mac and cheese was wonderful and topped it off w key lime pie. The pie was perfect, yellow in color(true key lime is never green) and balance of sweet & tart was outstanding. Big thanks to our server Alex for taking good care of us.

My husband and I are visiting NY, and decided to wing lunch. We didn’t want anything from a chain restaurant. The menu posted on the restaurant’s window was enticing enough to give it a go. I ordered the Mesclun Salad with Grilled Shrimp. Husband had a Cheesesteak and the Giant Hot Dog. My salad was really good, and the shrimp were well-seasoned. Husband says that he wasn’t disappointed with his cheesesteak or hot dog. The ambience was cozy. Our waiter was very attentive as well. I would recommend this place for lunch with the girls or for a date with your significant other.

I came here on Valentines Day and have been dying to go back. The place was packed and the set up was so nice. Each table was candle lit with a rose. I’m definitely gonna make plans to go back soon because my meal was ridiculously good. The best filet mignon I’ve ever had… and I’ve had some pretty good filet mignon. I like my steak medium rare, and boy did they nail that. It was cooked exactly the way I wanted. Perfectly pink. Amazing mashed potatoes. So creamy and buttery. I have zero complaints about this place. Just that its too far from me. If that counts.

The West Side Steakhouse is a hidden gem of Hell’s Kitchen. The general setting and ambiance of the restaurant is contemporary casual. Let’s say, it «meets expectations». There are not many people inside eating. However, on numerous occasions Westside has been able to accommodate a large reservation(20 – 25 people) and provide great eats. Usually when I go we all share appetizers and sides and order our own entrees. The filet mignon was a treat that I highly recommend. The great apps are the Shiitake mushroom risotto, Bacon Wrapped Scallops, and Baby Loin Lamb Chops. The other good dishes worth getting are grilled asparagus, creamed spinach, and fried Calamari. This place definitely has no hype, probably because of the location and general demeanor, but if you are nearby and need somewhere to eat do not hesitate to step in.

We took my parents there for an early in the day birthday dinner after the car show. The burgers my dad and husband got were absolutely unbelievable. The fries were huge and delicious. However, my Caesar salad was the worst Caesar I’ve ever ordered. I definitely do not recommend it. It was bad enough of had to send it back for mixed greens instead. The steaks do not come with sides. Just meat on plate. All sides are extra. And oddly, they had no lemon for water. Not a big deal, just strange.

We decided to come here randomly one night and I was pleasantly surprised. The wait for the steak wasn’t out of the ordinary, and when they came out, they were perfectly seared and cooked. We left the restaurant full and happy. On an unrelated to food note, we were privy to watching a couple of Asian girls spending the entire meal taking photos of their food and each other with the food only to take a few bites of their food and returning to the amusements of their phones. And then proceed to order dessert and do the same thing all over again. Such a shame, the food was really good too, probably would have tasted better if they actually ate it while it was hot!

AMAZING spot in the Hell’s Kitchen area. Relaxed, casual atmosphere, but a seriously intense food performance. The 12oz filet was perhaps the best steak I’ve ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes and the chocolate lava cake were also top-notch. Note, however, the waiters make the cocktails – and quite poorly – so maybe skip that for a wine or beer. Overall, great experience and will definitely look the place up the next time I’m in town.

This steakhouse was seriously fantastic. Food is amazing, prices are great, and it has a less-stuffy ambiance than your typical NYC steakhouse. For an appetizer, I got the french onion soup(delicious) and the filet mignon, which was unbelievable. The three of us split the mac and cheese, home fries, and creamed spinach for sides. The creamed spinach was utterly perfect, I will say though that the mac and cheese was quite sub par. It was really milky. Super stoked to have found this gem — absolutely recommend!

Good place to catch a meal before a Broadway show. Food was lovely and with great prices. Low light made it feel like a little romantic spot. Only gripes was the waiter who was constantly looking over to see where we were at in eating our food… The table being situated pretty close to the restroom and the waiter lifting my plate when I finished but my girlfriend hadn’t, leaving her to eat alone whilst I just sat there.

My friends and I met for dinner. We were looking for a moderately priced place with a nice verity and West Side Steakhouse fit the bill perfectly. Between the three of us we ordered the Salmon, Grilled Chicken and Steak. We were all happy with our meals. Besides a great wine selection they also offered a good Selection of Bottled Craft Beer. Defiantly will be back.

The West Side Steakhouse is a solid neighborhood restaurant with good steaks and friendly service. It is far enough from the Times Square/Theater district to be almost tourist free… and that is probably a good thing, because the space itself is a bit small. My filet was a good size(12 oz.), thick and juicy. The sides were good and the drinks strong(in my opinion, never a bad thing). The space and décor is OK… didn’t try the desserts, but they looked good. A nice alternative to the typical large steakhouse one might find(and probably a bit cheaper too!).

Dimly lit unexciting bistro-style neighborhood steakhouse with spotty irregular service and mediocre food for a decent price. We ordered for dinner: 45 oz Porterhouse, NY strip steak, steak fries plus two lobster tails, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed onions, crab cakes and slab bacon with BBQ sauce. Dessert: Pecan Pie, Key lime pie, and Two chocolate molten bunt cakes. The best of all these dishes was the roasted garlic mashed potatoes and the pecan pie. The garlic mashed potatoes were fluffy and sweet with garlic oil mixed in. The pecan pie was served warm and was perfectly nutty and sweet. The lobster tail was so overcooked, it could have been mistaken for chicken. Or a mouthful of tissue paper. Yech. The NY strip at steak was OK. The onions were burnt and smothered in beef fat. The porterhouse was ordered medium rare and cooked medium well(on the left of the bone) to rare(the beef to the right side of the bone). Very inconsistent. The service was quite horrid: The waitress never smiled. Threw our dessert menus on the table. Never checked on us to see if we enjoyed our dishes. Water was inconsistently filled. Servers didn’t know where to place silverware. Servers didn’t clear the table properly. Servers cleared the table without checking to see if we were done. Why did we come here?

Few blocks from Times Square but totally a different neighborhood… tranquil, non turistic. The restaurant has a warm and intimate atmosphere, the service is nice and attentive. We ordered a New York Strip Steak(22 $) with home fries(6,5 $) as side dish… excellent, perfectly cook, very tasty and tender; the organic roasted chicken with salted green(21 $)…definitly NOTGOOD… the flavour and smell were bad… the ceasar salad with anchovies was really good. They also serve hot bread with butter. They offer a wide range of specialty beers, we had a good amber Samuel Adam Boston Lager(6.65 $). Too bad for the chicken! But the NYStrip steak was really good and at a reasonable price, especially in NYC :)

Yes, I’ve heard so much about Peter Luger’s in Brooklyn, but didn’t feel like making the trek out there just for dinner, and b) they don’t take credit card, as a steakhouse? I can understand a cheap frills place, but a steakhouse, where you’re looking at spending at least $ 40 – 50 per person? We had tickets to Kinky Boots later that night and wanted an early but satisfying dinner not too far from our hotel and the Al Hirschfeld Theater. One of the finalists was West Side Steakhouse, and we finally decided to get our steak fix. Let’s face it, there’s not too many great choices in the Times Square/Theater area. As others said, you don’t come here for the ambiance for an affordable pleasing meal. Initially we both were going to share the 45 oz. Porterhouse for $ 69, but thought that may be too much meat. We both decided on the 12oz. New York Strip($ 22) and shared a side of mashed potatoes($ 6.25) and sauteed broccoli($ 6.75). Both requested medium rare, however, mine was a little closer to medium. The steaks didn’t have too much fat and pleased our beef cravings. Those mashed potatoes though… amazing! Lots of garlic and so smooth and creamy. The sauteed broccoli also hit the spot. Glad we found this very affordable steakhouse with generous portions near our hotel for our last meal in the city.

This restaurant is a nice little gem near a very busy Times Square location. When we first ordered, I was a little hesitant about the appetizers. We tried the calamari and bacon wrapped scallops. Both were OK, but could be easily replicated at any restaurant. For my entrée, I ordered the lamb and a side of creamed spinach. Others in my group ordered the petit filet with shrimp(perfect) and the rib eye. The lamb was cooked to medium rare, and each bite was tender and juicy. The petit filet was delectable and seemed to melt in my mouth. The rib eye was ordered as medium rare, but came out very rare. We had to ask for it to be «re-fired,» but the waitress was very accommodating. The portions are very generous here and the prices are extremely reasonable.

Food is better than service. Price and quantity are excellent. Atmosphere is plain. I don’t recall any music. Read on if you care to know more. The Porterhouse was shared along with two lobster tails. The beef was cut at about 1−½ thick and cooked as ordered. Lobster was nicely broiled. I liked the creamed spinach quite a lot. Sauteed mushrooms were also fine. We started with a tomato and onion salad. She forgot to bring a Caesar Salad but we over ordered and we didn’t care that much. Drink service was weak by steakhouse standards. I would expect them to know the Vesper martini — it’s the one James Bond orders«shaken not stirred» and is a classic among steakhouses. Service was on the slow side but the food arrived hot and ready. The room lacks style but, if you’re looking for a good steak at a good price, then style and service might be your value compromise.

Sehr gute steaks. Leider ist die Aircondition zu kalt.
