Good food, but the service was awful. This place was some of the worst service I have ever had. I don’t recommend coming here.

My daughter and I had breakfast on our last day in New York at this restaurant since it was conveniently located on the mezzanine level of our hotel. The waiter was really professional and attended to all our needs.

Where to begin… Like most business travelers I sometimes find myself alone at the bar with a steak and nice Pinot Noir. Generally this is a pleasant experience, my visit to Shula’s was the opposite. Between the difficultly flagging down the bartender to my nearly inedible 6 oz filet, I couldn’t wait to return to my hotel room and order a grilled cheese. If you find yourself trapped at the Westin during a particularly snowy night either venture out in the cold or remember there is a Chuy’s located in the basement, but stay away from Shula’s!

Shula’s is a very nice restaurant. The servers are always incredibly professional. I know this sounds odd, but the bread served before the meal was especially delicious. My favorite dish was the Crab Mac n Cheese. It was very good. It is connected to the Westin Hotel, so it is a very convenient dining location for those who are staying there. My only complaint would be that the prices are a bit high. There is better steak in New York for lower prices. It’s not a «must visit,» but it is a great place to dine in Times Square!

Enjoyed Don Shula’s immensely, it is fine dining and great food, I love the ambience, the waitstaff was professional and knowledgeable.

Update: the manager who left the reply comment never contacted me. What a hypocrite! — — — - Ok, first of all, this is not a real Shula’s to me. I’ve been to the one in Orlando. Way better service and way better food! This one in Westin is more like a business place for me. We went at 1pm for lunch and it’s dead… Host was playing with her phone, servers were mostly unseen. Our food is not impressive, certainly cannot be compared with the one in Orlando. The filet mignon was so over cooked, the outside was simply dry and it’s not juicy at all inside. The French onion soup was very very salt and oily… The cheesecake is light, and not really fresh. Overall, as much as I loved Shula’s, I wouldn’t go back there and won’t recommend my friends in the future.

I went to shula’s a couple of years ago so my memory of the place may be a little fuzzy. We came on a Saturday night with reservations and checked in without a problem. I would say half the restaurant was empty during our meal. Our waiter was very attentive during our meal. We ordered a steak to share and some sides and I’ve had my fair share of steaks from around the country and I don’t think shula’s was memorable. It was by no means a bad steak but I’ve had better. Average steak. Good service. Good location

The good: it’s located in the Theatre District, it’s a steakhouse, and it generally meets steakhouse expectations in terms of food quality, ambiance, and service. The less good: the service is spotty, there’s no views of any kind, and the food is good but not inspirational. If you want a great steak, walk South two blocks to Wolfgang’s in the NY Times building and you’ll get better meat, better service, and better ambiance. I’d say Schula’s is a middle-of-the-road chain-feel steakhouse(e.g., Fleming’s but maybe a little worse) though I’m not sure if it’s a chain.

I have eaten here several times as the restaurant is located in the lobby of the Westin hotel where I stay. The food is quite good, I have always had a good meal. Unfortunately the staff here is awful. They are slow, rude, and you feel like everything they do for you is done with a bad attitude. In fact currently I have been waiting at the bar for 25 minutes and have not been and have been completely ignored!

Being a veteran in the hospitality industry, I was quite disappointed about the service at the Shula’s in Westin Time Square. Had pre-theater dinner with a girlfriend from out of town. We were seated near the entrance to the kitchen and the waitress spilled sweet chili sauce on the floor; splashed my coat, leather handbag, blouse and pants. The staff didn’t care to apologize for the disturbance proactively and didn’t realize I was splashed until I told them. The waiter to our table even asked us the information that he could easily find out from our Opentable booking. The manager came to understand the situation and apologize, didn’t bother to introduce his name at all; in the end he offered 20% off of the entire bill. When we left the restaurant, NOONE bid us farewell or apologized again to us, not even a simple«Have nice evening!» or «Good Night.» I guess they thought we were nobody and are not likely to go back again, so the staff members didn’t bother to make any gesture. I spent another 30 mins to clean myself up in the restroom just to swipe all the sticky sauce on me. What an unforgettable experience! BTW, the food was ok, my fillet mignon was a bit overcooked that the medium that I requested. But I just didn’t have the energy to send it back and wanted to finish my dinner ASAP.

Brunch: Shula’s for dinner is awesome, but for brunch… The service was slow. The server took away my butter knife but left my friend’s so I was able to use his for my toast. The filet mignon medallions were a little tough for a mid-rare(cooked the temp. properly), and it could have use a little more seasoning. Their home style potatoes were the only thing that was perfect. Asparagus lacked flavor and was lacking. Espresso was watery on the 1st and 2nd attempt. Pretty upsetting experience considering this is… was my favorite steakhouse. BUT I’ll still give them another try for brunch. I want to try their Angus burger, with egg, cheddar, and bacon on a toasted English muffin. I love their dinner though! Cowboy steak, lobster mac and cheese, and truffle mashed potatoes were delish!

Had reservations at a different restaurant, but was passing Shula’s, and a delicious steak came to mind. Stopped in, had some wonderful drinks, and met a few people at the bar worth chatting with for quite some time. I had the Cowboy Ribeye, which was cooked to absolute perfection, inside and out. Bartender treated me as if I wasn’t worth his time or as if I didn’t have money, but I think that all changed when my final tally was about $ 200 and we all sat and had drinks for quite some time. Not sure I’d go back, I would rather try somewhere else first, but it wasn’t a terrible experience, especially since my steak was delicious.

I came here recently for restaurant week because one of my coworkers claimed he liked it better than Del Frisco’s. I’ve been a loyalist to Del Frisco’s for many years so of course I had to see what this place was about. The restaurant itself has great décor. It was on the mezzanine level of the Westin Hotel. I kind of like this hidden away entrance. My friend and I both devoured the bread very quickly. Note to all steakhouses: all bread should be served like Shula’s! It came to the table very hot and the inside was nice and fluffy with a nice crunch to the crust. I would give it 5 stars for the bread. We each had the scallop appetizer. It was only one scallop with a mango pineapple salsa. It had a spicy kick to it which played off the sweetness of the salsa very well. I thoroughly enjoyed it. As far as the entrees are concerned, I was a bit disappointed in this category. We ordered the NY strip medium and it was more on the medium well side. The salmon was also a little bit over done bordering on a bit dry as well. The flavors were there but too bad the technique took away from the dishes. For dessert, I ordered the carrot cake. I loveee carrot cake and this was just a nice finish to my meal. I’ve definitely had better but this was not bad in anyway. Overall, for the price of NYC restaurant week I was pretty happy with my $ 38 meal + tax and tip. I’m glad I tried it, but sorry I’ll have to rub it in my coworker’s face that it did not surpass my fav steakhouse.

Dined here last week, pre-theatre. Three of us in the party. We all loved it. Drinks: while wine Sangria was very good for someone who likes sweet drinks. I had the Mojito Martini. Nothing special, but good. The wedge salad was terrific. Someone ordered the chopped tomato salad and didn’t get exactly what she expected. It was simply a salad with tomatoes & other veggies chopped. I ordered the beef tenderloin appetizer and it was plenty as my entrée. The beef was tender and tasty. We ordered several sides. The asparagus was good as were the mushrooms. The service was very good!!! Waiter & service staff very attentive. The manager & Exec Chef stopped by our table to ensure we were satisfied. We were! Would definitely recommend!

Kind of a hidden place that was hard to find. Restaurant was on the upper level. The filet mignon I had was a bit too dried. The salmon and mashed potatoes were good. Service was good. The pinot wine was tasty. Was seated near the kitchen, kind of find it awkward cuz the waiters keep going in and out.

I am always skeptical about restaurants near touristy areas but we decided to come here anyway to celebrate a friend’s new job. It’s a pretty standard steakhouse with mediocre service. I didn’t order steak so I opted for seafood. Unfortunately, the seared scallops entrée was undercooked. The texture was a bit odd and did not taste anything like ‘pan seared.’ I was pretty disappointed the whole time because it was suppose to be a celebratory moment but the quality of the food did not meet my expectations. I know, this is an easy lesson learned: Don’t order seafood at a steakhouse.

Probably the best steak I have eaten in my entire life. And I have eaten a lot of steaks. We went for our anniversary, and loved the experience. Wait staff was very attentive. We were seated quickly, and our waiter was excellent. We both had the prix fixe for Restaurant Week. Salad as perfect with Bleu Cheese dressing. The steak came out with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The only thing I was disappointed about was there were only three sprigs of asparagus. Kind of skimpy. I savored every bite of my filet. I seriously loved it. Tender, juicy, cooked perfectly, and just the right texture. The cheesecake was amazing. Smooth, creamy, and simply amazing. My wife had the sorbet, which she loved. The night was perfect

I tried Shula’s steakhouse for brunch. I like the convenience of this restaurant. It is on the 2nd floor of the Westin Hotel, which is where I stayed, so it was nice to not have to travel too far for food. :) The design of this restaurant is really nice and fancy. The service is also really good. My server made sure my coffee and orange juice was filled. The food was also really delicious. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, they had four different options to choose from. I chose the Royale Eggs Benedict, it came with smoked salmon, asparagus, roasted potatoes, and 2 perfectly poached eggs. The hollandaise sauce was also superb. This is a good restaurant to dine at whenever you are staying at Westin or if you are around Time Square area!

I came here during Restaurant Week. The restaurant is located in the Westin Hotel in Times Square. The food was good, but I was expecting better. Let’s start off with the décor/ambiance. It’s a very classy restanrant. The place is not overly decorated, but looks very stylish. The bread was very warm and delicious. I tried the Tomato and Mozzarella Chop salad. As someone who’s not a big fan of salads, I thought it was pretty good, and it was big enough to be shared(but who shares a salad huh?). Then I had the Petit Filet Mignon. They weren’t kidding when they said«petit». It was tiny but tasted pretty good. I was thinking«why couldn’t the salad be petit instead?». Ended it with a key lime pie(which was also petit), which I didn’t like much. Overall, I think Shula’s is a nice steakhouse, but living in New York City, I can probably recommend a hundred other steakhouses to go to instead.
