This the BEST cheesecake we have ever had! It is in the heart of Time Square(everything in TS is more expensive). We only had cheesecake. It is a great location & you get a large slice of cheesecake. We shared the Turtle Cheesecake, Red Velvet cheesecake & the Reese PB cups/Butterfinger cheesecake. All three were great! The server wasn’t very friendly, but who cares with cheesecake that taste this good! This is a MUST!!!

We ate at this Deli in 2004 when visiting New York City, where I had grown up near. As with my visit to the Unilocal Stage Deli site, I’m once again shocked… first, both excellent and iconic delis are closed. Second, most of the reviews here are bad. I know good deli food and this place was excellent. There is no really good deli food where I live now in Arizona. So, either a radical change occurred between 2004 and when it closed, or most of the people here have no flipping idea what good deli food is. My review, now a eulogy for a great Deli restaurant and for people’s lack of ability to appreciate good food anymore, is based on the above experience.

Not sure how else to rate this place but the food was very mediocre and the service was at best ok. The two servers that attended on us were very lethargic and did not seem to want to be there! It was not really early in the morning but at 11 am or so. Even asking for water prompted a smirk on the server’s face! The food was fine as we just ordered breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, hash, etc. We wanted a small side of sausages and they charged us $ 7 which is quite outrageous. The potatoes/hash was cold and lacked salt. Maybe its a place to go really late night after partying and having no taste left in your mouth but definitely not a place to sit at eat brunch at those prices.

Have been a customer of Roxys for many years, my last two visits were very disappointing. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt, poor service and quality if pastrami was sub par. I just wrote that off and wanted to give them another try. We again found the sandwiches much smaller, in fact all portions were smaller. The waiter again made several mistakes. For one he failed to bring our appetizers, he screwed up a simple pastrami and fries order(never got the fries), finally we got one drink and one drink only. The waiter never came by for more drink orders. In fact he couldn’t even be found. Anne C

The pastries in the window and red neon signs lure you inside. Once inside you will see a long dimly lit restaurant proceeded by a bar. The breakfast was miserable. Eggs over easy came out unable to have a nice runny yolk and of course dry. Bacon was burned. I thought the bagel would be the reframing feature, NOT! The bagel tasted like it was a week old and was way too much work to bother with. Inflated prices, poor service served with a large side of attitude, food inedible and prices overinflted. What’s a girl to do? Learn and not repeat your mistakes. ***During Happy Hour. house wine is $ 5.00, that is a good deal anywhere. Don’t mind the bartender, her enormous altitude and annoyance comes at no extra charge!

Absolutely only sightseeing place best for looking at and taking photography of the store front from the outside if they didn’t have their delicious New York Cheesecakes. This rate is for their cheesecake and their store front.(5 for cheesecakes 4 for their photogenic store front) It’s a dream cheesecake, a slice is huge and rich and dense, creamy but never too much. A perfect lover I have found among all human and cheesecake in my life, maybe. I came here right after I saw Chicago Broadway show. I saw the show few times, and I was curious about this Roxy. I just have never had courage and a chance to try there, also I didn’t really know that it was a restaurant. Just looked like a cool sightseeing place with neon at night in Times Square that seemed never get crowded inside. Their menu is huge, all foods are way too much than a person can possibly finish, but they know that and will probably offer you a box before you ask. I will only order cheesecake and espresso or tea here. Their New York Cheesecake is amazing, especially the one with berry sauce(I generally do not like any sauce on cake but here). Of course the plane one is also fabulous. and it’s big so satisfying. Espresso and cheesecake for dinner? totally possible.

I saw this diner tucked away by itself so I thought this must have been one of the hidden gems of New York. It should stay hidden. They have a large menu, but it’s a menu filled with expensive food. I ordered a hamburger but could not substitute the fries for onion rings – even for an up charge. I asked to speak to a manager but the waitress did not speak English well enough to understand my request. The hamburger I got was hands down the nastiest burger I’ve ever had. It tasted under cooked and burned at the same time. The ranch dressing I had along side my fries tasted rancid. This was a hellish dining experience. When you factor in how much they want for this disgusting food and its a recipe for disappointment. Instead of paying this much for gross food, it would be quicker to light your money on fire.

We stmbled upon this small restaurant and glad we did. The cakes in the window will cath your attention. Don’t miss this small gem.

Eh. The food was ok, and the pastrami could have been warmer(since it was advertised as a HOT sandwich). The food is also very expensive. They also charge a $ 7 sharing fee. which is ridiculous. If you want to try it, have one person order a sandwich and the other order a side… but, my personal opinion… go somewhere else.

I am NOT a fan of Touristy«stuff»… but tourist trap or not, Roxy Delicatessen does have an incredible cheesecake!!! So rich and thick and creamy and rich and huge and dense… Did I mention rich??? I didn’t eat anything else and got my slice to go, so I can’t review those areas. I didn’t mind paying for the high price for one slice either. Being a person who will replace dinner with an entire sheet of cheesecake, this place had my heart at hello!

I wrote a long, drawn out review explaining my dissatisfaction with my experience here, but I deleted it. I decided I should just keep it simple. I would like to preface, though, by saying that I consider myself easy to please in terms of restaurant satisfaction. A little bit of polite service, hot food, and a cold drink, and I’m golden. It takes a lot for me to go out of my way to write a bad review. That is all. Service: Very Rude, Very Pushy, and Very Slow. Atmosphere: Might have been better if we weren’t stuck in the very back directly beside the kitchen and bussing area. That said, it was loud, hot, cramped, and overall very uncomfortable. Food: Decent, Severely Overpriced(I know it’s Times Square. I am fine with the prices being a little steep, but $ 25 for french fries, gravy, and warm tap water is just ridiculous.) I might try eating here again some day. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But this was not an enjoyable experience and I would not recommend this establishment to family and friends.

Stopped here after our Broadway show. I admit I was pulled in by the cute sign. Mistake. Food was extremely overpriced. This is a deli, and not a great one, but our meal for two plus tip was $ 60. Whaaaaa? Granted, my roast beef sandwich was huge and covered in gravy but it wasn’t worth that much money. Never again. Tell your friends.

Went in after a show for a bite to eat, and maybe some dessert. Went upstairs and sat at a small table for two. Waited about seven minutes, and when we had seen neither hide nor hair of a waitperson, we left. Also, in looking at the prices on the menu, I would have to say that the food is very overpriced.

2.7 Cheesecake only! Slice of lemon raspberry…$ 10.75 Mongo slice. No fresh fruit visible in this wickedly fluffy wonder that had two thin layers of moist sponge in between. What a wonder – took my time savoring and enjoying. No doubt, would have been a 5 star for heavenly slice if the fruit components did not taste so artificial. Was bit irked when Eastern European-accented server instructed me to tip 15%!!! Not classy or cool.

Why oh why do I forget, and then revisit each and every time I want deli in NY? Well, perhaps this will be my last because it is now forever etched on the internet brain. Summed up: it’s an impulse eat. With the best and most visible location in Times Square, they get you to walk up to the window with their fancy sign. Once you get to the window, they get you with their bountiful selection of baked goods. Don’t be fooled by «Location, location, location.» Overpriced, mediocre, and uninspired — the prices and the quality will leave your wallet bleeding and your taste buds complaining…“What the hell”? Over the years, I’ve tried a number of unforgettable things: corned beef sandwich, pastrami sandwich, cheesecake, and corned beef hash & eggs. Eh. Recommendation: Get a cookie to go(of which, are delish). Besides, you’ll walk it off in no time.

Extremely underwhelming, but that’s what I get for eating at a place right in the middle of Times Square. It was also probably a mistake that I came in here for breakfast. I had a flight at 1:30 in the afternoon and I realized at 10:30am that I should probably eat something right-freaking-then. I had eggs, bacon, and home fries. Dropped $ 18 on something I could have easily made at home. The only thing I enjoyed was the rye toast. That bread was delicious. I should have had a sandwich, but I thought it was almost impossible to screw up eggs and bacon. Oh well.

Open late, which means a convenient stop in Times Square for a late night sandwich, pastrami is piled high, though not as tasty as some of the other more well known deli’s in NY, desserts are right there in your face as you walk in so you end up getting some on your way out(or in like me).

We got a canoli and a brownie. The canoli was okay, nothing special, I’d rather not get it again. The brownie was quite delicious; with marshmallows, m&ms and fudge you can’t go wrong! The other desserts looks pretty good, too. The take out area is small but the line moves fast.

This was one of those really overpriced, overcrowded, average food joins in NYC in my opinion. Was walking around looking for a nice place to get some cute sandwich to whet the appetite… Unfortunately I was met with rude servers(sorry I’m not pushy/aggressive like some locals…) because I didn’t know that there was a carry out order line that was the same as the pick up counter. Blaaaa! Anyway, the food was below average. I think I paid like $ 25 for an «Open-faced Swiss cheese melt and a potato pancake. Which was… two slices of chewy bread with swiss cheese smothered everywhere, including over the greasy fries on the side. Everything was super unimpressive. I mean, the potato pancake was good – very dense… but I wouldn’t ever pay that much for one potato pancake again. 1 star + sad face :( Seemed like the sweets might be good, though. But beware, those are pricey as well… this one chick came in and asked if she could get a slice of cheesecake… I think the guy was like… $ 10(or…some ridiculous price for a slice)… and she’s like… I just want a slice… she realized it WAS the price of a slice, and walked right back out. hahahha.
