Oh, how I hate this place. It’s not really a grocery store so much as a beer store that sells a few groceries. It used to be run by this really sweet, friendly guy who had the best prices in Lower Manhattan, I swear. You could get beer so cheaply there that sometimes we’d see NYU kids in the store. All of the other bodegas in the neighborhood had to lower their prices accordingly and there was happy drinking for all. Then the guy went out of business(not too surprising, but what a shame!) and now it’s owned by new people who’ve jacked up the prices so high that we only go there when we’re truly desperate. They’re rude, pushy, and they try to charge you a higher price on items if you pay with a credit card. The store is falling apart under their ownership but they don’t seem to give a damn. Watch out for the leaking air conditioner that ensures a stinky shower and wet, slippery floors right as you walk through the door. Also, their hours are shit and they usually close like 40 minutes earlier than the posted time. I am boycotting Wall Street Groceries and hope you will too.
