Ordered a pizza Margherita($ 3.50) and Gyro($ 6.50), to go. Gyro tasted delicious! The pizza needed extra seasoning, but overall tasted good. Nice thin crispy crust.

Just ordered delivery from them. PROS: Fast delivery The falafel sandwich was good & filling. CONS: The eggplant hero w/tomato sauce was ridiculous. It was THREE slices of eggplant for the entire 6-inch hero and cold sauce. I had also asked them to toast the bread, but they apparently couldn’t be bothered. Not sure about the falafel, but the eggplant was clearly frozen, pre-breaded eggplant slices. Ordered the dolmades(stuffed grape leaves) — meh. I’ve had better at diners.

A friend that lives in the apartment complex above Tony’s ordered us a pizza from there many years ago. It was… no. We were all disappointed by how unpalatable a simple cheese pizza could be. Flash forward to July 2015, as a(now) 11-month long resident of Inwood. I’m a Grandpa’s Girl, through and through, patronizing them even when I didn’t live in that neighborhood, willing to travel up to Broadway and Isham to pay a bit more for their fine pizza. However, on evening, the beau came to my apartment with a slice of Sicilian from Tony’s. I took a bite, with hesitation, and… it wasn’t too bad! Had I too harshly judged this establishment all of those years back? Well, we decided to order a couple of slices from them the other night, as well as some garlic knots. We returned to my apartment, ready to fill our bellies. …no. *sigh* I want to be kind to my little neighborhood pizza place, because I’m too wicked nice, but the pizza and garlic knots were both pretty dry and flavorless. The knots, in fact, did not taste like garlic at all, rather just slightly burned with a buttery note. The cheese ont he pizza did not yield well to our teeth, a little tough, indeed. Sorry. Like I said, I’m a Grandpa’s Girl.

Tried a cheese slice here for the first time. It was pretty good! I’ll definitely go back.

Absolutely awful. Ordered here after spending all day moving because I just wanted some good old comfort food, but it was a big mistake. Oily grape leaves, funky tasting chicken in the gyro, 4 pieces of lettuce in the«side salad.» Everything, even a simple pita, just tasted wrong. Ate some of it anyway because I was starving, and ended up with horrible food poisoning. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but there were no redeeming qualities. I wish I could get my money back.

Ordered a gyro value meal, which arrived earlier then expected. Lemme tell ya, you get your money’s worth here. the fries came in a hero size box, the gyro itself was so big I could only eat half, & a can of pop all for $ 7. Plus they have amazing pies with fresh ingredients. You won’t be disappointed. with their specials & service.

I was hoping this place would be a good-but-cheap alternative to Grandpa’s. But the pizza was really underwhelming. The broccoli and spinach pizza is a signature item but the vegetables are all out of the freezer. The crust is thin and a little crispy and lacks chewiness. There’s nothing here that really makes me want to come back.

I do like their actual pizza, though. It’s perfectly cheesy and«normal».

After coming out the doctors office, I was starving. Who doesn’t come out hungry after a doctor’s appointment?! I know I do! I was just walking home and had my eyes open for any place that looked clean and served food; I came across Tony’s Pizza, Pasta & Gyro, and walked in. You cannot go wrong with pizza right? They were just opening and everything looked freshhhh and good. I ordered a regular slice my boyfriend got a buffalo chicken slice. What a mistake! The buffalo chicken STUNK and it tasted like spicey sh*t! He threw it straight in the trash. He did not want to offend the owner, so he acted like he ate it. Then, he went and ordered a regular slice. The regular slices taste pretty good so did the ice cold Pepsi :). HOWEVER, I do not think I would order from here again… MAYBE if I’m starving, again, and walk by, I’d grab a REGULAR slice.

Nothing great about this pizza spot. Every time I’ve been here, the slices were either stale or the sauce tasted funny. The slices are on the smaller side too. For $ 2.50 a slice, that just ain’t cool. On the up side, the place is clean, there’s ample seating and their sanitation inspection grade posted on the door is «A». If you’re looking for a good slice of pizza, specifically on Broadway, Pizza Haven on 207th(about a half a mile walk north) and Pizza Delia II on 190th(about a 1 mile walk south) would be your closest bet. Both are better pizza shops. I didn’t mention Domino’s or Papa John’s cause I’m trying to keep this authentic. Pizza Palace on Dyckman St. btwn Post Ave. and Nagle Ave. is pretty official too.

Gyros are composed of good ingredients, a little pricey but worth it… the meat isn’t frozen, its cut from a spindle and its tasty! Pizza is hit or miss, i would suggest always a pick up and check on it. They definitely can pull of a decent NYC slice, but i have been burned by a poorly prepared pie delivered! So all in all, Tonys can be a location of good eats as long as you are there to make sure you get what you pay for!

THISIS A PUBLICSERVICEANNOUNCEMENT: I am actually taking a few minutes out of a busy day to write this review out of genuine care and concern for fellow pizza lovers. I have just had THE worst sicilian slice I have ever had in my entire existence, and that includes mall pizza, high school cafeteria pizza, and the time my(obviously non-Italian) mother made pizza crust using bisquick mix.(absolutely NOT kidding). The crimes(not necessarily listed in order of severity): –Inadequately and unevenly heated. –Dry, hideous, overdone, stale tasting crust on the sides and bottom, this was the worst part of a very traumatic slice, and yet… –Inexplicably soggy, underdone crust near the top –Too much crushed dry oregano on top, perhaps as a distraction from the cheese –Old poor quality mozzarella, that came out like a little slab of wax,(it actually could have been wax, maybe I was eating a fake display slice made of glue and wax?) –Some very very sad excuse for tomato sauce, I really pity the person who made this sauce, I don’t even know how to explain what was in here, it tasted like they took an entire can of tomato paste and added a teaspoon of water and yet more old dry dollar store oregano from 1997? It is a mystery… One bite and despite my intense hunger I honestly had to discretely spit it out into a napkin and throw the slice directly into the garbage. WOW.

Overpriced and Mediocre I have ordered from this place many times, and it rarely fails to disappoint. I’ve finally learned my lesson. Today I ordered a sandwich and salad and then waited for over and hour and a half for delivery. When I called to get the order cancelled and the money refunded I was told I’d have to wait and call when the owner came in. Never again. Not worth it for the bad, overpriced food.

While visiting my family over in this area, I convinced my girlfriend to stop by Tony’s to try NY pizza(as visitors from Florida, this was a must). We ordered about 5 slices our first visit, all of which came out really good and my gf’s favorite topping being eggplant, it was good sized and tasted good(being such a unique topping, I was afraid it may taste and look funny; glad it didn’t). We were surprised at the price and realized they offer $ 1 slices + small charge for add’tl topp. during certain hours. Before heading back home from our road trip, we ordered a pie for the ride. overall, good pizza for the price and staff was attentive! good luck finding parking in this area though.

The area surrounding Broadway and Dyckman is a delivery wasteland unless you’re in the mood for Dominican or Chinese. As far as pizza goes there are several places to order from, but most of it is terrible, seriously inedible. Grandpa’s is good, but I’m not always down to spend $ 30 on a small veggie pizza. Soooo, that’s why I’m a big fan of Tony’s. They have reasonable prices and the pizza is actually pretty good. Their Sicilian pie is great. They’ve changed it though — they used to have a layer of cheese running through the center, which was AMAZING! They don’t do that anymore, but it’s still very good. We tried the stuffed pizza also — OMG! It’s good, but you definitely have to be expecting it. The pizza weighed about 10 pounds as it was so full of veggies, ricotta and mozzarella. It was a bit soggy when it arrived since it’s so loaded, but if you bake it in the over it reheats very well. Again — it’s something you have to be in the mood for, but if you are it’s delicious. The delivery is always prompt and staff is always friendly. I got a stale sandwich once and the owner called to personally apologize and gave me a credit. If you want pizza — call Tony’s!

Went here last night for a large pie with mushrooms and onions. Toppings are $ 3 per single topping. Took the pie home and realized the onions on the pizza are totally raw and the dough itself is under-cooked. Called Tony’s back, explained the situation, and was told that I would get a call back from the manager in 10 – 15 mins. 20 mins go by, still no call. I call back again and the same gentleman answers the phone saying that the Manager just walked in and will call back. The manager does call back 5 mins later, explained the situation to him. His response? He said that if I wanted cooked onions on my pizza I should have requested to have them grilled. He reasoned with me that just asking for onions on the pizza meant that they top the pizza with onions but it doesn’t mean it will get cooked. Uh, what? I didn’t know I had to request a topping to be cooked… Anyway, the manager said to bring the pizza back so he could take a look at what I was talking about for the dough. Took it back, manager took a look and apologized and remade the pizza. This time around I said no onions(since, clearly, we don’t agree on how the onions should taste) and asked for pepperoni instead. 2nd time around the pizza was much better.

I have to say it used to be «just pizza» and you pop in if you’re dying for something to eat right away, it was never a destination spot. I remember this place as PJ’s a while back as I’ve grown up in the area. Tony’s came around and it was OK. It has changed. I just ordered from them and got not pizza, not pasta, but falafel on pita and baklava… THANKYOUFORTHEVARIETY! I’m pregnant and living in this neighborhood it’s hard to find anything that isn’t Chinese, pizza or Caribbean. The quality of both items was above my expectation and I was pleasantly surprised. HELLO! They also packed two forks and a knife. Mistake? No… One for the falafel which I did end up needing, and a clean one for the dessert. Such a nice touch. Pros: Variety of foods Food is good Not pricey Cons: Actual restaurant is microscopic so it’s pretty much grab-and-go or delivery.

Wanted to like Tony’s as it’s cheap and right around the corner from my apartment. Last night I ordered delivery and ended up sicker than I have been in a long time. Not sure if it was bad cheese or pepperoni or what but I’ve never been that sick after pizza… ever… and I don’t ever want to be again. So I think we’ll just skip Tony’s from now on… Too bad. :(

I don’t know what happened to this place. The pizza crust tasted strange and was hardly cooked, the cheese tasted really ‘fake’ if that makes sense. All together tastes like a science experiment. Totally gave me a stomach ache and turned me off of pizza for awhile. I’m beginning to realize why they need to have their promotions to keep business…
