We only ended up coming here because Ichabod’s was ridiculously crowded. The food is mediocre but as mentioned by other reviewers, the unlimited mimosas and blood Mary’s are a good deal. They are unlimited, if you can bear with the fact that the wait staff is not really that attentive. We came here on a rainy humid day and it was humid inside also. Please get air conditioning and use it accordingly.

Wanted to try brunch next door at Ichabod’s, but the wait was too long and they said the brunch was the same at this location. Pretty uninspired food, I have a hard time believing that the offerings at Ichabod are the same. Service was OK, but the mix of indoor and outdoor tables made things go pretty slow. I did like the music.

Food was so-so, however the unlimited mimosa was really«unlimited» for 17 dollars… It kept on coming without time limit — at least it felt that way we were there for more than 2 hours and even after we got the bill, they kept on pouring it to us. Food wise, I ordered the biscuits and gravy, and i didn’t really touch much of it. In my opinion it wasn’t very good — both the biscuit and the gravy.

Good place to grab a drink after work with colleagues in the Union Square area. They have $ 5 drink specials as well as some app deals and tables that are big enough to seat larger groups.

I felt bad for the bartender who also had to walk around and serve all the tables which made for slow service. Not his fault at all, just didn’t understand why the restaurant doesn’t have a server on the floor as well.

Delicious drinks(get the midnight sky if you like fruity drinks!) and a relaxed, fun atmosphere! Easy to get into, but also very lively! Enough room for dancing too :)

Terrible service. They will treat you like they don’t need your business. You guys should probably work on that since your reviews are so low.

Hard to say. Wanted to try brunch next door but the wait was too long and they said the brunch was the same at this location. So must be same owner? Ordered the southern — cheese grits, eggs, and sausage instead of pork belly. Not bad, but probably won’t be back to eat. The grits were ok but if you had them in the south, it won’t satisfy your craving. Friends got the fried chicken thigh with gravy. The chicken wasn’t very crispy, but not surprising for nyc. Might be back for drinks but only if in the area.

Went to the Headless Horseman for the first time last night. The décor is wonderful, very cool and cozy. Loud but not too loud. Seems like a date spot or a place to grab a drink with a friend and catch up. Lots of paired up people. I only had one slight issue, which could have just been a fluke. The service was not very attentive. The bartender was friendly, but he did have to be behind the boor but also walking around the floor it seems, which meant we were waiting with empty glasses for a long time. Again, maybe it’s just a one time thing and he was super friendly so I can look past it.

3+ for Headless Horseman! I enjoyed my most recent experience here. Despite what you may have heard this isn’t a dive bar. It could really use more affordable happy hour specials but oh well that’s the Union Square area for you. The food was good — I was with a group and tried a little of everything. Portions are generous. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Not a good place for groups though. Definitely more of an intimate setting for two.

As part of an after-work meet-up event, I came here originally wanting to eat at Ichabod’s but this establishment had more favorable happy hour options. It was very packed but we were able to snag a spacious booth. It’s also very dark, but I guess that just adds to the trendy atmosphere. The happy hour is 5pm-7pm, I believe, and they have an extensive list of drinks, particularly beer. I stuck with coke. They also have a pretty basic menu but the food is delicious! We started off with the house made chips dusted with salt and vinegar. They can be strong for some, but the freshness and quality cannot be beat. Personally, I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which was A+. The bun was lightly toasted and the chicken was fried to perfection with a nice great crunch to it. There was also a brush of tasty honey-siracha sauce inside. It also came with fries and a side of garlic-aioli, which perfectly complement each other. One of the ladies in my meet-up group had the cheeseburger which was a blend of beef and brisket, and she loved it. In addition, the service was wonderful. I will definitely be returning and recommend it to all!

When you stumble into a bar because it seems like the best option in union square and you find out happy hour lasts until 8pm, you’ve struck gold! One of the rare gems in Union Square that will leave you wondering, «is this really where the NYU dorms are?» Just across the street Little Town, but a world of difference that street makes. Great Happy Hour crowd, every night is different, so don’t always expect to get a table, but a good place to catch up with your friends!

Ran in for a quick drink before a dinner reservation around the corner. It’s super small but if you’re okay with standing then I’d recommend it! There are booths lining the perimeter but they all seemed to be reserved. Nice atmosphere, bar service was fast and the drinks were not weak. It’s essentially in the center of an area with much to do, so I definitely see myself going back.

This place is kind of hard to find if you do not know what to look for. But it really embraces the theme! You go inside through the heavy wooden door and into a dim lit bar. The waitstaff is super friendly and attentive. I was here with a friend and we tried a lot of different drinks and some pretty good apps! The exposed brick and the smallness of the interior really give the overall feel of the theme! Go check this place out you’ll be able to have some good conversations and drink some great beer or cocktails!

I love the theme of this bar, which is done in such an authentic and fun, but still understated and non-cheesy manner. Their Happy Hour includes $ 5 well drinks and $ 5 wines, and their menu is packed with awesome bar bites like a Bavarian pretzel, Fried Calamari and Fried Pickles. Table space is at a premium, and you need to have a minimum amount of people for the cool booths near the bar(at least 4). Service is decent, and the noise level during Happy Hour is really loud, but it just adds to the after work party atmosphere. I’ll be back… most likely after dinner at their right-next-door sister restaurant, Ichabod’s.

Excellent bar in a great area that weirdly lacks good bars. Probably the best oyster po boy I have ever eaten, awesome! Pretty good happy hour too.

I booked a reservation here for myself and some friends for this past Saturday so we could enjoy drinks and snacks after the movies. When we arrived, there was no host to greet us but I was impressed to find that a table had a printed our reservation holder with our party info. My friends and I sampled a variety of menu options. I had two cocktails — the«Writer’s Block» and the«Spring in the Knees», and to eat I had the cheeseburger and I tried my friend’s fried pickles. Both cocktails were pleasant with nicely layered flavors. The cheeseburger was perfectly cooked(medium rare for me) and flavorful. It was my first time trying fried pickles and they were surprisingly delicious. Not something I would normally order, but they make a nice bar snack. The ambiance has a cool dark tavern feel to it, though it’s not necessarily as intimate and subdued as I had hoped. The crowd and music was a bit more lively than I expected, but regardless everyone I was with really enjoyed the venue and were very happy that I had picked it our for us. The wait staff seemed understaffed and overworked so it was hard to flag them down for water refills and cocktail orders, but they were pleasant none the less. Overall it was a pleasant visit, and I would consider coming back again though probably with a smaller crowd. It seems like a nice, casual place to come to grab drinks with friends.

Stopped in for a snack and was pleasantly surprised. A great selection of great beers and cocktails with a decent happy hour. Enjoyed some fried pickles which were amazing! And split a grilled cheese, bacon and strawberry jam sammich with my husband, pretty darn yummy. Service was quick and efficient and the place has some really comfy booths for groups.

One of the many Manhattan bars I never knew existed until someone suggested it for happy hour drinks. Headless Horseman is really interesting when you first walk in. This place looks like a midevil times scene out of game of thrones… I was literally waiting to see Rob Stark seated at the bar drinking wine with Kelisi. After fully entering, they have tables scattered about and a decent amount of seating at the bar. The alcohol selection is lacking as they have very limited wine and rum choices. They few they did have weren’t great. The warm pretzel and the salt and vinegar chips were pretty good and are a great choice of bar food to go with drinks. They actually have an overall nice bar food menu with small bites to choose from, which is ideal for happy hour groups. Overall this place is more about style than substance for me. Food is decent, drinks are a bit lacking and the venue itself is pretty cool. All that being said, there’s nothing special about it in my opinion and I probably wouldn’t seek it out when choosing a place to go.

I went here for happy hour with some coworkers. It looks like a medieval dungeon, in a cool way. I got there early, so it was easy to find a space, but it get fill up later so it had a fun atmosphere. The bartender has awesome, got to me quickly even when it got full and had great fall pumpkin themed drink recommendations. All in all, a good time. I would go back if I was in the area.
