Excellent place on a crappy stretch of 6th avenue. I am from LA, these tacos are legit. Excellent chicken tacos, escabeche is excellent, portions are legit and nachos are amazing. 3.5 stars is a joke. Far better than tres carnes up on 22nd.

Love this place. Their nachos are plentiful and so delicious(get the carnitas!). My go-to take out item is the rajas(roasted corn and peppers) burrito with guacamole. Make sure to get side containers of their homemade salsas! Also, if you are super hungry or want something to share, get the nachos. Enough to fill up two ravenous people or three hungry people. Quick, easy and so much better than Chipotle and better service than Tres Carnes. A neighborhood gem!

I haven’t even received my food but I’m writing this review as I wait because I’m so disgusted with the service here. The cashier was legit so rude and short with me for no reason. I get it, there’s a long line but there’s no reason to be rude. I came here when they first opened and it was good food and good service — why so serious now?! I hope my food is good Update: my food was good and I’ll probably still go back even though they are so grumpy there!

Was excited for something new to arrive… ½ roasted chicken was mediocre at best, lacked flavor and was on the overlooked and expensive side. Sides were tired which was sad for a 7:30pm pickup order. I’m staying with Dirty Bird delivery

I had better(That’s what she said) Had two carne asada at nearly 4 bucks a taco. Meat was a tad bit cold and the tortillas were off, couldn’t tell why. I’ve been to there other location near St. Mark’s, much better. Oh and their habanero salsa wasn’t hot, like at all.

I remembered this place being disappointing in every count. The prices and food were not great at all and the staff were rude and pushy. Not such a good place for Mexican food.

Oh wow, i have never paid 9 dollars on a simple salad for lunch and tasted such nothing… Are they serious? I ordered the salad with rajas(vegetable) The dish barely has anything but romaine lettus and bunch of mushy bland a little spicy onion/jalapeño. It also took then 10 minute to make it while there was barely any customers. Wow– now i have to go get another lunch because i can not take another bite into this bland spicy THING. Unbelievable. I have had bad food but this is a little ridiculous.

Excellent place. Authentic, inexpensive Mexican food with a casual setting. Take out is my usual move here. Nachos were $ 12 and so big and fully loaded that my friend and I couldn’t finish them(as our dinner). Fresh fried chips as the base too — an added luxury. The carnitas and carne asada tacos were also delicious on a different visit. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood which needed some top-notch Mexican take-out. I wish they were open late night too…

There are hilariously no tacos on their Eat24 menu, and they still haven’t updated IG w/this location, but went with a truly mediocre Plate $ 9.19 Rice, beans, salsa, cotija, crema. Make it With: Al Pastor And a ton of very good Chips $ 0.92 with an assortment of self-serve salsas.

Nah. This place recently opened up near my office and I was excited to give it a shot! I love tacos more than anything. I got a «large» guacamole which was literally just a skimpy portion of bland mashed avocados. C’mon. Got the veggie taco which was good, albeit under seasoned. Two stars for the fresh chips(yum) and good salsas! They are new here so I will try them again in a month for round two.

Very fresh, perfect after workout meal, watch out Chipotle Only nitpicky recommendation: way too many beans, not enough rice on the chicken platter

I’ve had this place on my radar for a little while now. Was in the neighborhood around dinner time so figured I would check it out. On a Saturday evening around 8 the place was nearly empty I order a carnitas taco and a vegetarian taco as well as a side of guacamole. A few minutes later I realized I should do this right and ordered a side of chips. Here is what I thought of the food: Carnitas taco– the meat was a bit dry but overall had good flavor Vegetarian taco– delicious! Couldn’t get enough of the peppers, corns and beans. This is my kind of taco and would come back for this! The chips were a highlight for me. That last minute addition was a success! Freshly cooked chips where you can still taste the oil is one of my guilty pleasures. The guacamole was good. To be honest I don’t remember it all that much because it was small. Nice casual atmosphere and friendly staff. Will return for vegetable tacos.

Solid tacos, very similar to the street tacos I’m used to in LA. The carne asada had an excellent flavor and the carnitas were spot on. Have gone back a few times already. Lots of sauces as well. Tortillas are very fresh too. Not sure why other reviewers complained that they were forced to leave a tip — there is a button that says«no tip» on it when you pay. Definitely worth a visit!

Decent taqueria. Authentic style tacos without a ton of rif raf. Adequate variety of salsas. House made corn tortillas had great texture and held up well. Al pastor — acceptable, but could use some more flavor from the marinade. It’s hard to taste. Steak — great citrus flavor in the steak. Not over cooked Carnitas — fairly dry meat. Basically slow cooked shredded pick shoulder None of my tacos were hot. I don’t think anything of the meat hit the griddle before landing on the tortilla. Overall, I dig the philosophy, but was not impressed by the execution.

Meh. I came here for a quick lunch by myself and ordered a chicken burrito. It was average sized, the service was awful(the employee was not friendly at all and I feel like I had to really push just to order a burrito…) and the flavor was not that strong. Everything just turned into bean mush in a few bites. Honestly, even Chipotle is better in my opinion. And for $ 10, it’s a hefty price for a mediocre burrito. Go somewhere else.

Another NYC Gem!!! Loving the addition of fish tacos to the menu at this location(they currently don’t serve fish tacos at their 2nd Ave location). I noticed previous reviewers complained regarding the tipping option at checkout. Do know that opting out of tipping is also an option. This must be a new point of sale because I am seeing it all over NYC in various coffee shops and restaurants. I think it’s awesome to have the option to tip if you receive fantastic service. I’ve been to this location about 6 times and received my food quickly. I love snagging a seat by the window to eat(fabulous spot for people watching on 6th Ave). Delivery is spot on — our food arrived hot and was delicious.

Outstanding tacos. Rotten service. After my meal, I headed back to use the bathroom, which was clearly labeled«Restroom» and had the male/female symbols on it. A worker behind the counter started yelling at me, «Sir! Sir! You’re not allowed back here!» like I was trespassing. I asked another worker if there was a bathroom, and she said there wasn’t. I don’t know how a restaurant with seating for several dozen doesn’t have a bathroom for customers, and I don’t understand why they won’t allow customers to use their clearly labeled bathroom. But great tacos.

Best rotisserie chicken lunch box ever! Beans, rice, salad. Chicken was tender and tasty. A bit on the high range for lunch, but you do get half a chicken. Get the green tomatillo sauce on the side.

Hands down, the best Mexican food in NYC… and now with a second location. I went in to check it out to see if the food was as good as the one on 2nd Ave and I was not disappointed– in fact– somehow they made the pastor even more delicious! Some highlights– the nachos(I think they won some award for these), the steak quesadilla, and my vegetarian-esque lady loved the rajas tacos and the vegan burrito option(I tried both– pretty amazing considering there is no meat). For tacos– I did a variety of the porks– pastor and carnitas– as a Mexican buddy of mine visiting from LA said«carnitas are hard to get right, especially for a white boy, and these are on point». Also on the menu– which they do not have at 2nd ave are fish tacos– haven’t tried them yet but I am super eager to do so… mmmm…finally some bay area fish tacos!!! Lastly– the owner hinted at maybe offering breakfast burritos in the near future. NOBODY does breakfast burritos to go in NYC and this is something I have craved since leaving CA years ago. I pray to the burrito gods this actually happens and I double pray there is a chorizo option.

Ay dios mio… Ay dios mio… Ay dios mio. I will frequent this place on the daily. I ordered the carnitas nachos for my friends and I to share, as well as two chicken tacos for myself. Nachos: Gigantic. I think they were only $ 10 or $ 11 too which blew my mind. Tacos: Moist and packed with flavor, topped with crispy chicken skin. Everything was perfect. Their kitchen is also somewhat open, so you can see all the chefs cooking up a storm and pulling chickens right off the rotisserie. Respect. Apparently they have another location in East Village. Keep opening up, and we’ll follow.
