Love this place! Super small and casual but really excellent food. Sabich sandwich is made with grilled eggplant — packed with flavor and definitely filling! Falafel is moist and perfectly fried. We got the harissa flavor which was spicy and had a lot of crunch. Love the sauces they give. Especially the creamy aioli one — goes perfectly with the falafel and fries. The platters are huge! You get a ton of hummus(or whatever spread you choose). Definitely way more than enough for the piece of pita they give you. Also had a banana date lime smoothie — super unique and super delicious. I totally get the hype! Definitely recommend ordering if you still have room :)

Filling, delicious sandwiches. Mediterranean. More of a take out spot but there are some seats on the window. Think«falafel Chipotle.»

THEHOLYGRAILOFFALAFEL. Every falafel addict should make the pilgrimage to NYC’s Taim and learn what a perfect falafel tastes like. Or not… this will ruin every other falafel for you forever! The inside of each falafel is unbelievably light and fluffy, moist but not pasty at all. You can tell it’s just ground chickpea + spices with nothing else added to bind it together. I don’t know how they achieved this ultimate fluffy texture, but I heard it’s partly due to using a meat grinder instead of a food processor to make the chickpea mixture. The crust on each falafel is crisp, slightly thick, and kind of crunchy from what seems like sesame seeds added to the mix. Each falafel ball is kept small to maintain a high ratio of crispiness to filling. I’d actually prefer more filling(and less frying) since theirs tastes so good, but that’s just extreme nitpicking. Okay so not only have they mastered the art of falafel, but they’ve taken it to the next level as well by innovating new flavors other than the traditional green herbs. The orange harissa(Tunisian spices) actually turned out to be my favorite by far, with a ton of flavor and just the slight kick of spice I never knew falafel needed. But I still loved the classic green falafel, which they jam pack full of herbs(parsley, cilantro, and mint). Not typical to have mint in there, but I’ll bet it helped. The red falafel(roasted red peppers) was actually not spicy like I expected but lightly sweet. My least favorite flavor, but still delicious and very interesting to try. Finally, I only got to try the tahini sauce but it was on point. Creamy with a great balance of nutty flavor, garlic, lemon, and then a tiny amount of added herbs. how is Mamoun’s rated just as high? that’s just criminal!

Looking for a delicious and healthy meal? This is your spot! Super small space, so I don’t suggest eating here. The wait wasn’t too bad either despite how crowded it was. There are maybe three seats but if it’s not too crowded might not be too bad. I would suggest take-out, bring it home or go to a park if the weather permits. I got the Harissa falafel platter. It came with hummus, two Israeli salads, falafel, pita and two sauces. It was so damn good I didn’t pause, just ate my way through it. Everything was flavorful til the very last bite. Portions were pretty decent for the price. I feel full but not disgusted full. Only regret, not adding a hard-boiled egg or two. Will I return? Hell yes!

I lose my total sense of direction in this part of West village gets lost when the streets and avenues become non-perpendicular and streets start to become semi avenues. Finding Taim was no exception. On a cold windy night, I finally decided to try this place after work, and took me much more than I had planned getting here because I was«lost». I had to ask a lady walking her dog for some directions and she said she always gets asked for directions in this area. «Everyone simply gets lost here.» But, Taim is worth spending that extra time and effort of finding because their food was delightfully good. My friend and I got the mixed platter that came with three different falafel flavors and hummus to share, but ended up getting another order of the same dish to fill ourselves up with all the goodness. Very limited seatings at this place. We came in early(around 5:30pm) but shortly after, the place got pretty crowded and I saw people peeking in through the window and leaving for a different place to eat. When we went, it was in the middle of a cold winter, hoping the restaurant would be warm, but inside Taim was as cold as outside.

I got the green falafel platter. The falafel were delicious but a little oily, tabouleh Dry with big stems sticking out and chopped lettuce! Tahini was very creamy witch I liked but Needs more lemon humus is okay. Hot sauce was perfect. Loved the bread with a touch of Zaatar mix on top. The guy behind the salad bar was nice and polite; the girl behind the counter was not helpful when I was placing the order and asked about an item in the menu; She was just pointing out to the board without saying a word!!! Even that I tipped and she didn’t seem to appreciate it!!! PS: I was there around 3pm & it was only 1 customer before me & another couple behind me so it was not crowded. Service: 2 Price: 3 «13 $ for the platter» Falafel: 4 ½ Humus: 4 Tahini: 4 ½ Syrian Zaatar bread: 5 Tabouleh: 3 ½ Hot sauce: 4 ½ If they don’t improve the service next time I would not go back again.

SOGOOD. I got a red pepper falafel sandwich and fries and they were delicious. The aioli served with the fries was amazing! Only problem with the sandwich was that it was absolutely drowning in tahini sauce, which I like, but in moderation. Subtracted one star because the eat-in experience isn’t very pleasant. It’s so cramped!

We have regularly frequented this establishment when in the area. Extremely cozy and delicious. Very affordable and the staff is great. Sometimes it takes a while to get a seat if your dining in but if you want take out this is a great option. Love their falafel sandwiches.

NOTE: I got food from the Taim truck, not the restaurant itself. The truck was out in front of Civic Hall(a shared work area in Flatiron). Pretty good, though, I think, a bit overrated. The toasted pita was just okay, although I appreciated it being seasoned, and the hummus was above-average but not exceptional. The falafel was overly spiced, oily, and a bit dry on the inside. There were definitely some communication issues: a colleague’s order was forgotten, and I got a falafel plate instead of the Mediterranean platter that I had ordered. Still, the orders came out pretty quickly, so that was good.

Great food — had a falafel salad(it was a special that had the medium-spicy falafel option). Fresh Jerusalem salad with Romaine lettuce, and a tahini-based dressing made for a complete gem… hope they keep it on the menu cause everyone was rockin it! Price is pretty standard — about $ 11 for the salad, but some menu items are more($ 5 fries?!). Nice staff here, friendly vibes. Be forewarned that it’s a tiny place and people will bump into you constantly if you’re sitting down. But the food is totally worth it for that pain — I’m sure the falafel sandwiches are just as good as the salad. Looking forward to coming back more and more, since it’s right around the corner from the best jazz club in the city(Village Vanguard). Enjoy!

We came here on a recommendation and found the food to be good, but nothing special. The shop is located in a cute space in my favorite hood. You order at the counter and dine in if you can snag a chair. We took our Falafel sandwiches to the park. I’d return if I had a craving.

This place isn’t authentic middle eastern food. Go to tanoreen in Bayridge. That’s what authentic is. This is an Americanized/Israeli version of middle eastern food. Like Panda Express to Chinese food and chipotle to Mexican. If you want the actual middle eastern experience tanoreen and so many other Arab owned are better options.

Taim is one of the best falafel places in the nyc! Three different flavors of falafel are perfectly fried. They are very crispy on the outside but soft and packed with flavors and bites inside. If you order plate, it comes with large portion of hummus, warm toasted pita bread, two different kinds of salad. Their Israeli Salad is so fresh and full of taste/acidity. Combination plate also comes with 3 different kinds of sauces. Scrapped of every bite of them. Absolutely love dining in /taking out for lunch -!!

This was probably the most overwhelming experience of my life. This restaurant was the size of a shoe box. The pictures did not foreshadow the experience at all! Most people actually sat down to eat their food here so I expected to come and have a relaxed dinner. This was not the case. The falafel was great, yes. This is evident with the constant line that Taim has. The downside is that this line makes you feel squished as you are trying to order your food. The workers are obviously overwhelmed and are not working under the best conditions. If you think the restaurant is bad, take a look at the kitchen! They somehow managed to fit five workers in a 15 sq foot radius. Yes this is New York and space does not come cheap, but come on. We decided to take our food to go, which is what you should do too. The service was pretty slow, but I can’t blame the poor workers. They were obviously overwhelmed. Taim offers three types of falafel: the classic mint and cilantro, spicy harissa, or red roasted red pepper. Most meals come with tabbouleh, pickles, Greek peppers, and a cucumber salad. You also have many sauce choices. I give the food four stars! It was great. I love falafel and their hummus was divine. There’s no doubt about that. People come for the food and then they run far, far away. The space however, deserves like a negative one. With such a successful business, you would expect them to somehow figure out a way to expand their space.

I don’t know how they did it, but I came out of this tiny little place thinking«They’ve somehow managed to make falafel gourmet.» The flavors were interesting, the falafel itself was surprisingly moist, and it was just so. damn. delicious. Easily the best falafel I’ve had in my(admittedly short) eating career. For those with a big appetite– the portions are definitely small. For my friend and I, we ended up getting the falafel combo plate and an extra side of falafel, and that tied us down until we ventured off to our next eating destination. More is definitely necessary if you like to eat.

I don’t even like falafel but I love Taim! And I’m picky! I have had the sabich(eggplant) platter and the falafel plate. The eggplant was good but not something I would crave. It was just eggplant. No surprises. If you like eggplant then get it. For the falafel, I like the roasted red pepper falafel the best because it is the least spicy. Both dishes are made fresh and are delicious! They only offer one type of hummus but it’s a goodie. The dishes come with two sides and warm pita. Taim happily substituted eggplant salad for the tabouli salad so definitely feel free to ask! I just love how much food they give you! Its a really filling and hearty meal. The dressings are also very flavorful and add dimension to the dishes. Be aware that this Taim location is really small. It only has bar seating at the window that can only really seat a few people. If you want to eat at the restaurant then definitely go to the Soho location. I’ve also gotten Taim delivered via caviar. I reheated the Falafel and pita but overall it held up well. Tip: if doing delivery, ask for the falafel and hummus to be packaged separately so that the falafel does not get soggy.

This is one of those places I find myself wandering into every time I’m in the West Village, whether I was originally planning on eating here or not. The falafel here is the falafel I measure every other falafel by. IMO better than Mamoun’s which is always so highly touted. So good, all three flavors of it. I usually go for the Mixed Platter. Falafel is piping hot, bursting full of flavor, and just the right amount of moist(Too dry falafel is the devil). Hummus is also done sooo right. Deliciously creamy, nice hint of Meditarranean spices, and they make a little olive oil well in the center the authentic way). All the better to scoop it up with the amazing Pita pocket they give you, encrusted with Zaatar spice. Another delicious favorite is t

No meat, but still some great stuff. They have plates, salads, and sandwiches, with many options. Enjoyed the Harrisa Falafel sandwich on wheat pita for $ 6.25. I typically don’t do vegan stuff as I love my meats, but I must say, this was nice.

This review probably won’t add much that hasn’t been said already but here I go! My only Complaint is that I wish this place was closer to my office. I’ve tried the platters but I find that the falafel sandwich is a better deal. The platter is 12 – 13 $ and comes with a few veggie sides. I was not crazy about the side dishes but the falafel sandwich with harrissa falafel is amazing! The sandwich is about 7 $ and pretty hefty. They also have whole wheat pita and a zataar pita which pairs wonderfully with their hummus. I also love their smoothies — particularly the date lime banana smoothie. They are mostly made with soy milk — taste healthy and delicious. My only gripe is that this location is so small … There are only a few stools and usually no place to stand to wait for your order if there are another 5 people in the store.

This is my hands down favorite falafel spot in NYC. I’ll keep it short. Here are the need to knows: 1. THATREDFALAFEL. THATHARISSAFALFEL. EPIC. 2. The best quality of falafel is the crunch to filling ratio. It’s incredible. 3. Taim don’t play when it comes to spice. You have been warned. 4. Seating isn’t really an option. Be prepared to take your order to go. 5. When crowded, the wait can be a little intense. The pita is one of the best deals you can get in Manhattan. Seriously. I’m always full and way too happy after stopping by. Taim needs to be noted more for how incredible it is. (Please open one in Midtown so I can stop by Taim instead of Maoz for lunch.)

WOW, I think I might’ve found Falafel heaven in NYC. The store is really small with limited seats. I had their falafel sampler. 2 or 3 different flavors — some mild spicy, others are not spicy at all I walked while eating. I know, walking with eating will ruin your mood or ruin the flavor But this is not the case I felt spice, I encounter the moistures, I cannot stop eating But only 4 I suddenly finished but kinda lost. I wanted more but now I am 3 blocks away Should I go back? — No i am lazy, but laziness never stops me from getting food. 3 mins later, I came back here again — ordering more. 5 mins later, I finished — I wanted it more, my body was no longer controlling me so was my brain Oh, all of a sudden, I wish I could turn to a falafel, a Taim’s falafel.

I popped in last night when I was on a break searching for hot, fast gf food in the pricey w.village. Not easy for under 13 unless you go to chipotle. The lady working was so helpful and professional, she explained all my options with the patience of a pro. They have 3 different types of falafel here. It was delicious! I had the cilantro classic and the medium with a platter of hummus, carrots and salad. All at 12 bucks and busting with flavor. That plus the array of sauces and it was heavenly! And absolutely safe for celiacs… it’d been years since I took the chance.

Best falafel in the city? It could be. I know I’m being very non-comittal, but while the falafel is delicious, what makes Taïm great isn’t just the falafel, but all the great ingredients they use in their platters and sandwiches. Great ingredients definitely go a long way, even for something as simple as falafel, pita, and vegetables. Perfect for people trying to eat healthy, although fried vegetable goo perhaps isn’t the most healthy thing either, ha. I’m not a vegetarian by any means, but I’d come out of my way for this place, especially if I was jonesin’ for falafel. I usually go with the red falafel(spicy), which is made of roasted red peppers, in a sandwich, which includes hummus, Israeli salad, cabbage and tahini. The falafel overall is just fried very well, and not too oily, and with the mix of other veggies, a perfect mix of flavors and textures. The only con really is that it’s slightly pricier than any other place(Mamoun’s, Hummus and Pita Co., etc.). With that said, the overall experience is consistently excellent, from the service, to the food, to the presentation, so you can be assured that the quality is there as well. Not only that, the portion size is relatively bigger than the other places in the city, so you can also be assured that you’ll be full afterwards. I haven’t tried the drinks, as they are a little bit on the pricier side too, but the combinations do sound very interesting. I really like that while Taïm is hugely popular, it’s never particularly cramped or uncomfortable. That being said, I would recommend getting everything to go, as there’s not much space inside to grab a seat, but try to eat it as soon as possible so that the falafel doesn’t get soggy. I’ll definitely be back when I’m trying to get my fill of falafel.

I visited Taim for lunch today. It was packed and I stuffed myself. Taim is a tiny, hole in the wall place on a side street in the West Village that serves up pita pocket sandwiches and salads. I got the falafel sandwich which I had them add harissa to, and it was delicious. It was packed with falafel, hummus, Israeli salad, etc. We also got the Sabich which has eggplant and organic egg and hummus. Everything is very fresh and tasty. I would say that be prepared to wait in line at lunch as it gets very busy there. Also, don’t plan to sit around and enjoy a quiet lunch in there. There is almost no seating and even less room to move around inside. This is definitely a take away, grab and go spot.

Taim! Oh how I’ve always wanted to go grab some falafel from you. I always pass this place after eating some pasta and fries(peep those carbs) at Ruby’s down the street. Since I can’t exactly continually fill my stomach with delicious food at every waking moment of every day, my trip to Taim has always been delayed. «Oh, maybe next time I’m in the area,» I’ll always think to myself. And then the next thing I know, years have passed and I still haven’t tried Taim! Well, not in 2016! I can say I made it a New Years resolution to eat at more bookmarked places, but that’s just a flat out lie, and I’m not trying to start 2016 with bad karma. My friend and I ended up at Taim after our first workout of 2016. He had already eaten brunch before working out so he said he would settle with a snack. This was it, my chance to grab a falafel sandwich at Taim while he eats a snack. So we decided to go to Taim. After walking to Taim, it would seem like we caught them after the lunchtime lull. I ordered the falafel sandwich(with the regular sauce) and my friend ordered a side of fries, which came with saffron aioli. We had grabbed seats and waited maybe 3 – 5 minutes before our food was ready. I was so hungry and I had been wanting to try Taim for so long that when I bit into my falafel sandwich, I swear, it was everything I wanted in that moment. The falafel tasted fresh and was delicious — not hard or dry like other falafel I’ve had. The fries were a nice addition as well. They were crunchy and deliciously fried, but not at all oily. The saffron aioli tasted okay, but I’m not really a fan of saffron, so I can’t speak to how good or how had the saffron aioli actually was. Personally I think the fries are just fine without it. Overall, I think that this is a great place to grab a quick lunch, especially if you’re trying to be on that pseudo-healthy new year new me kick.

What makes Taim stand out from other Middle Eastern/Mediterranean eateries in NYC is its offering of three different flavors of falafel: Green(mixed with parsley, cilantro, mint), Harissa(mixed with Tunisian spices), and Red(mixed with roasted red peppers). If you are trying Taim for the first time, I would highly recommend the Mixed Falafel Platter so you get a sampling of all three flavors — from there on, you can pick the flavor you like the best!(It’s $ 1 cheaper if you select 1 flavor vs. 3 flavors) I, too, lost my «Taim virginity» to the Mixed Falafel Platter — a sampling of 3 falafel flavors on a plate with hummus, Israeli salad, Tabouli salad, and a side of toasted za’atar pita. It’s the best option to try all the highlights on the menu. The portion is quite large… I eat a lot, and I was stuffed after the meal. The classic chickpea hummus is made with tahini, garlic, and lemon, and then finished with extra virgin olive oil. It’s very creamy and smooth, although the toasted za’atar pita didn’t go too well with the hummus because the pita is already seasoned. The Israeli salad is made with freshly chopped tomatoes and cucumbers with parsley in lemon-mint dressing. Super fresh and not oily at all! I also enjoyed the Tabouli salad, which is made with bulgur wheat with chopped parsley, cilantro, scallions, and tomato. Both salads packed a lot of flavors and added nice crunchiness and texture to the meal. Now on to the most important part — the falafels! My favorite was the classic Green falafel. They are smaller than other falafels I have tried, but don’t be deceived by the size because they pack tons of flavors! The exterior was crispy, while the inside was moist and flavorful. The Harissa was a bit spicy for me, and Icouldn’t taste the red peppers in the Red falafel. Next time, I am going to go for the Green falafels all the way!

Really good — everything is tasty, and high quality. Is it a standout falafel? I don’t think so. It seems like a lot of people do, but I wouldn’t be able to discern this from other falafel sandwiches made with quality ingredients(and love). I suspect a lot of others couldn’t either, despite the reviews. Harissa seems to be the most popular, though all are good — simply depends on which flavors you think you enjoy the most. Very good pricing, especially on smoothies.

Came here because it had a lot of Unilocal reviews. Pros: Very affordable prices(sandwich is $ 6 – 7, platter $ 11 – 13?) Has the best falafel Tasty hummus Fast service and no tip(could have a long line of people though because it’s popular) Cons: Very small eating area(less than 10 seats!) I would recommend to anyone who loves hummus and falafel or anyone who’s willing to try yummy hummus+ falafel in a pita bread.

I am a HUGE falafel aficionado. Like, someone who devours falafel sandwiches any chance she gets. I’ve had many, MANY, falafels on my 20+ years on Earth and let me tell you Taim is the holy grail. They’ve managed to take an ordinary street cart food, infuse some ingenuity and quality, and actually make it kinda upscale! They offer three different kinds of falafel balls — traditional green with parsley, cilantro, and mint, harissa with Tunisian spices, or red with roasted red peppers. I always go with the harissa — it’s got a nice, slightly spicy kick — with extra amba(mango-fenugreek chutney) and s’rug(green cilantro chili hot sauce). Those sauces just take the sandwich to the next level. If you’re feeling extra sassy, get the feta, kalamata olives, or boiled organic egg as an add-on for $ 1/each — a great complement to the falafel and soooo tasty. Most importantly, these guys have got the art of falafel sandwich making down to a science! The way they fill up the pita(you can choose white or whole wheat at no extra cost!) ensures you get a nice mix of crispy falafel and toppings with each bite. Although the falafel sandwich is kinda on the pricier side at $ 6.75, they do load it up, and the taste alone is worth it! Can’t wait to try the sabich(fried eggplant) sandwich next — lots of folks were getting this when I was here last. P. S. Def try their inventive smoothies too — they are totally BOMB! With combinations like pear/mint/lemon and pineapple/coconut milk, you really can’t go wrong.

DELICIOUS. This place is vegetarian and vegan friendly. It is fast, affordable and one of my favorite places that I visited while in New York. Stumbled across this restaurant using the good ol’ Unilocal app and I was definitely not disappointed. It’s a small restaurant with a window table and bar stools. There are a total of 5 bar stools and yes, you’ll be elbowing your neighbor but it’s totally worth it. We chose to ‘dine in’ therefore, we were advised to not take our plates outside as they were ‘real plates.‘ My boyfriend and I split the Falafel platter which is perfect for sharing. It comes with two pita pockets, a nice heap of tabbouleh, cucumber salad and two falafel flavors atop a mountain of hummus. They ask what type of sauce you’d like and we chose all three. The bright, green spicy one was my fave. The other is a yogurt which is second best and the bright orange one may have been curry or something but I wasn’t into it. We inhaled that platter! We picked up those pita pockets and shoveled anything that would fit in there and munched away happily with our dinner choice. FYI: if you dine in, there will be people staring in to look at the menu, it’s not just ’cause you have hummus all over your face. Our dinner was fast and absolutely tasty. The cost for our selection $ 12 pre-tax. It was hot and flavorful and definitely a must if you’re vegan, vegetarian, looking for Mediterranean food, etc. They offer spa water, the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly!
