After my initial dealings with these guys I called to follow-up on the status of my shoes. I was told they were finished and to email my shipping address so they could be sent back out. Gino told me not to worry about payment, as he wouldn’t be charging for the job. I’m not sure if that was due to the ease of repair or guilt over the poor handling of my order, but either way it was a nice gesture. About three days passed and I didn’t receive my shoes so, I called back and was told they did ship and if I didn’t receive them the following day to call back. Again, I’m in NY as are they so shipping whether ground or expedited should only take one day. I miraculously received my shoes the following day and the repair was done with expert precision. My shoes look brand new again. Unfortunately, I still can’t give any higher than three stars because the communication was just so poor. I’d recommend these guys if you can find it in your schedule to do a walk-in, but if you have to deal with them remotely I’d look elsewhere.

The guy that works there was very nice and accommodating. I came there to have 2 shoes repaired he said it could be done but would be hard to put the sole of the shoe back on so I should send it to the company. Then when I showed my the laces of my shoes were damaged and cut and stuff he went to the back and gave me new ones for free– he wouldn’t take my money. Then I asked him about the scratches on the shoe and he took it to the back for a couple of minutes and fixed it up/buffed and polished it. Would go back again

I have a low arch and have a terrible time wearing high heels. After reading about T O Dey I decided to give custom shoes a try. My high heels feel like sneakers now, really it’s like night and day. I was able to show them a photo with a few changes and they made the shoes exactly as I specified. Some of the cons are: the shoes take much longer to make than they tell you, about 3 – 4 months. Also, I noticed glue at the seams and other details that you would not find in a pair of designer shoes. In short, great if you have a very difficult time wearing regular shoes, or you want something very specific that you cannot find elsewhere, but if not, just get the Louboutins. They are about the same price.

Have tried them twice with shoes which are near & dear to my heart. This post is somewhat lengthy so in short: don’t go, they have the plague! Experience #1: Brought a pair of boots in for a heel replacement. After consulting with the guy, we spent a good amount of time deciding on a heel which would be close to my original but somewhat less streamlined/cute as I’ve learned that the truly skinny heels are overly delicate. It took 2 weeks and they put a chunky short heel on which was clearly WRONG, then tried to tell me that is the one I selected. At this point, the boots were already paid for so I just had to wait for them to put the correct one on which they did(requires another couple days). Not particularly apologetic for the error on their part. Experience #2: Came back with much trepidation and desperation since other places I’ve looked at were not able to custom match the color of the leather(the boots above are light tan as were these pumps). Again, spent a good amount of time consulting on a skinny heel selection and the the guy wrote the model of the heel on the order as well. Not surprisingly upon pick-up, the WRONG heel(another short chunky version) was installed. I am beginning to think they have an over supply of the short chunky heels they just need to get rid of. This time however, Gino Bifulco, the owner himself was manning the desk. Not only was he unapologetic about the error but also beyond rude. His response was«I dunno what you want me to tell you». I looked at him incredulously and mentioned this is the second time that they’ve made a mistake. He then yelled«Why do you keep bringing your shoes back here then?!». Valid question Gino, now you know. Also know that I won’t be making this mistake ever again. The other guy did eventually fix the heels but also tried to convince me that this was the heel I wanted. Your jedi mind tricks won’t work with me! Gino proceeded to complain to no one in particular about«the $ 50 order out there». I don’t know about you but $ 50 is a lot to spend on shoe repair so I wouldn’t be so casual in the treatment of your customers.
