Food: Love the salads BUT — about ½ of the time they screw up the order. I’ve ordered delivery many times over the past few months. About half of my orders are missing either bread or dressing or both. Not sure about you, but if I’m having a salad, you need to have some dressing at least. Forgetting both bread AND dressing for 3 – 4 orders sent to a customer is just sloppy. I understand they get busy and long lines for during peak hours. So… I place my order earlier so they have some more time. The first few times it happened I gave them the benefit of doubt because I love the food. I wish they would pay a little more attention to what they are making. Perhaps someone double check what’s getting packed — «oh look, all these orders have no dressing or bread, lets fix that»(you can easily see through the top). Perhaps the in-store experience is better.

I absolutely love sweetgreen. Great vegan, vegetarian and other salad options. I usually get the Kale Caesar(my favorite Caesar dressing) or the Guacamole Greens salad. Plenty of options and their lemonade drinks are also great!

Great idea. In concept. Buy good ingredients — check Create good recipes — check Maintain a nice/clean environment — check What about having a good/inspired staff in place? Too difficult? How does Starbucks do it? Green leafs are not washed well, if you like sand it shouldn’t be a problem. Even when the place is completely quiet after lunch-hour rush, staff prepares your salads with the same care as throwing out garbage, hope it makes the bin. All ingredients may or may not make it and then it may or may not be tossed with dressing. Too bad, otherwise a great concept.

Absolutely love this salad place! Unlike other grab and go salad places, this places offers locally sourced ingredients. I haven’t tried any of their mixed combos, but their create-your-own salads are a no fail. Just add your favorite vegetables(for $ 7.95) and maybe a protein! The baby kale and the citrus shrimp is a must get. If you get the salad to go, try to opt for at most a medium amount of dressing so that your salad doesn’t become too salty or soggy at the end.

I placed a pickup order at 12:35, was promised it would be ready at 1pm so I went to pick it up at 1pm and had to wait 20 minutes. The line to pickup was out the door down the sidewalk. If this location can’t get it together and have an order ready when promised and have someone actually managing the pick up orders I won’t be coming here anymore. It was complete chaos and nobody was helping the people waiting for pickup orders get their order. If the promised time was 1:20 or even 1:30 I’d understand but it’s not ok to wait 20 minutes for a pickup order.

Wow! Delicious! Fresh, local, fast, friendly staff. $ 8 for a custom built salad with four ingredients, bread is free. Came in on a Sunday night at 5, no wait. I’m a happy camper :)

They’ve got the vibe just the right side of overly stylised. Unfinished concrete floors — check. Artek style minimalism — check. Cool staff — check. Most importantly, amazing tasting salads — check. Had the curry cauliflower and quinoa, substance, flavourful and fresh as a daisy… also had a try of the Apple pear and cheddar which was equally as good. So close to 5 stars, but I’m hogging the giving of 5 stars to an orgasm in the mouth, not quite that but pretty darn good.

The hype is real and I reluctantly will admit that it’s kind of worth it. Yeah, $ 12 for a fricken bowl of leaves is definitely ridiculous but my heart(and soul) justify it so easily. To be fair, the bowl is really large. If you regularly eat small meals you could split it into 2 meals for sure. I’m sitting here bloated as I type. I had the seasonal cauliflower salad which I HIGHLY recommend. It comes with organic quinoa + farro, organic arugula, roasted curry cauliflower, cilantro, raisins, roasted chicken, sriracha, and cucumber tahini yogurt. I got it without sriracha and some extra broccoli instead. Even without the added spicy kick it was amazing. Didn’t think I could finish it but just kept shoveling it in my mouth. Must go back as soon as possible.

Upon entering Sweet Green at around 1:15 pm on a Monday afternoon, I expected there to be an extraneous line but instead was greeted by approximately a 5 – 6 person wait. I examined the menu board for what seemed like four, MAYBE five minutes(tops) before being called as the next customer up(impressive that they moved through orders so quickly!) I chose the Earth Bowl with a medium amount of dressing. My thoughts: * FILLING! At around 700+ calories, this bowl had some weight to it and kept me feeling full for the remainder of the work day(without being food coma’d and wanting to lay down) * INGREDIENTS: the arugula balance was a tad light compared to the other ingredients. I loved the quinoa because it gives you something to scoop in heaping amounts(and has a high protein count), but perhaps a tad more leafy-ness would have made for a better experience. The spicy broccoli was good, but lacked the fire punch — only after singling out a piece on its own and chewing it extensively did I taste the spice. The dressing amount(medium) was perfect and avoided any sogginess that occasionally can dampen a salad bowl. * INGREDIENTS(continued): the only gripe I had(and I’m sure this applies to any bowl including chicken or some other protein element) was that the meat was diced. Instead, what would have been preferential to my liking would have been larger strips of meat that I could cut and determine portion size. I found myself near the end of the bowl attacking the bite-sized pieces of chicken with my fork when in reality, I would’ve loved to consume that meat upfront(what can I say? I’m a carnivore). Sure, it’s unfortunate when you get to the end and only have arugula or small pieces of corn to scoop against the sides of the bowl, but I’d take that versus scrounging for the last, valuable pieces of tasty protein. You can’t let that go to waste. Would I return to Sweet Green again for a salad? Sure. Maybe indulge in some colorful fountain drinks or glass-bottled beverages past the checkout counter? Perhaps, if I’m feeling slightly adventurous. I understand that the lines can get rather long during the prime time lunch hours, so my bet is that I lucked out with speedy service on a brisk, fall day(people may have been more inclined to order-in instead of venturing out into the chilly Manhattan air). You can’t go wrong with Sweet Green — give it a shot!

Yes, I am one of those people who wants 20 mins in line for«just a salad», but Sweetgreen is so good and not just a salad! I can’t go to just any salad place anymore. I have had the majority of their salads, and there isn’t one that I have had that I didn’t like. They have about 10 salads that are their permanent menu and 3 seasonal salads that change every few months. Everything is fresh and well put together. Rarely do I ever substitute any of their ingredients for something else. My favorites are the kale caesar(sometimes I substitute chicken for shrimp), the wild child, and the rad thai. Never mind, actually I like them all!

My partner is obsessed with their Kale caesar while I usually get a custom salad. Their suggested salads are often great, too: just had the Wasted that uses all kinds of trimmings that usually go in the garbage, like kale stems, and it was yum. The staff are lovely even though they seem overworked. The lines get intense during workday lunches but if you order online, you can skip the lines. My complaint is that there is no way to add a tip by card or while using the Sweetgreen app. So while I appreciate that they at least have a tip jar out, which is not a custom for chain places, it always depends on whether I have cash dollars or not. When I don’t, I just make sure that I’ll give double the tip the next time. But it would have been so convenient to be able to always just add a percentage to the charge.

I really like Sweetgreen’s salads and warm rice bowls. You have it once and you will crave it. It’s a great place for a healthy lunch or post workout meal. They have about 8 – 10 signature salads and then 2 – 3 seasonal specials. My favorite is their signature Guacamole Greens with corn tortilla chips, avocado, tomato, roasted chicken, and a fresh lime vinaigrette dressing(very refreshing). I would recommend adding a spoon of their grain rice to it as well. The Harvest Bowl is also delicious but a bit heartier, served with more warm ingredients, and slightly more filling. Be careful though if you’re going late in the afternoon. When I went around 330 pm on a Thursday they were out of avocado and the tomatoes were being cut. Service is a bit slow sometimes so if you’re ordering from noon to 2pm on a weekday I would recommend ordering online for pickup. Just know though that the dressing comes on the side and they won’t toss it in for you. I would give the food 4 stars and the overall experience a 3.

Sweetgreen has ruined every other salad place for me. Nothing even comes close. I wondered why every day the lines for this place snaked down the sidewalk. Now I know.(I always order online now.) Everything is so fresh, so delicious, so smartly put together, I can’t imagine going anywhere else for salad. So why am I writing a glowing review just after having had to wait around for 20 minutes to get the two salads I’d ordered online? Because when I finally got my salads I got more than an apology(apparently there was some screw up with their website). When I went to pay for it they said, «No, this one’s on us.» Great food AND integrity, kind of amazing, huh?

I’m a big fan of sweetgreen — the salads are fresh and the drinks are great. I’ve been to their Williamsburg and Nolita locations which I loved. However upon visiting the Tribeca location, I was pretty disappointed. My friend and I had two orders for pick-up and the salads weren’t ready when we came in(we came in 15 minutes after the pick-up time). After waiting for another 10 minutes, the cashier began making both our salads. The line wasn’t that long to begin with so we could’ve been in and out faster if we never placed an online order. During this time the employees were talking, laughing, and hugging each other as people came in and out and generally didn’t care much about the customers. Additionally, my salad was missing the chicken even though it was clearly listed on the order slip. Also this location is much smaller than their other locations and there was no room to sit(also no restroom). Only reason I gave this sweetgreen location two stars was because the salad and ingredients are still pretty good. If you have the chance, go to a different sweetgreen location!

I love sweet green. the only one star took off is i think they should have more choice in proteins — they usually have chicken or shrimp(come on!) you can pick from some fancy menu they have or cook up something of your own. the sweetgreen apps is not to miss! you can calculate calories and get point so make sure to download that guys! you get 10 $ when you spent 99 $ the line during lunch hour can get pretty crazy so avoid that or request a pick up but expect the long wait time.

The ‘custom salad’ option is a good way to go. You can choose a grain or green base. Four basic add-ons are included in the price. Depending on the time of day, the ingredients are fresh or not, and soup is often not available late in the evening. If they worked out these problems, I would rate them higher.

My favorite lunch spot for salad! I go almost everyday. They have an app with reward points which is def worth getting if you’re a regular. Their salads and dressing is so fresh and a great combination of flavors. So glad they opened in front of my office building last year. Don’t know what I would do without this place! Lines get long during lunchtime(. Like out the door long) on the weekdays, but it’s a pretty fast line especially if you’re chit chatting with your friends(or texting I guess lol). For those who’re in a rush can order online and they’ll provide you with a pickup time so you don’t have to wait on the line. They have a bar like table inside where you can eat and also a few tables outdoors. It’s pretty awesome.

My go-to lunch place, I am obsessed with the Harvest Bowl. The combination of locally sourced wild rice, kale, squash, almonds, and a bunch of other veggies with balsamic vinaigrette makes a perfectly delicious yet well-balanced meal. I’ve even gotten it for dinner sometimes. I’m not a huge salad fan, and Sweetgreen is one of the few salad places I consistently go back to. Took off one star for the inconsistent salads. Some days, it’s been too wet from lackluster washing of the veggies but it’s usually spot on! If you come during lunch during peak hours ~12−2pm, expect really long lines and around a 20 minute wait. Yes, for salad!

The first thing that caught my attention about this place(unmarked front) was that it was not flashy at all, despite the flashy contents of the menu. The place is the kind of organic-kale place that would have a beautiful, minimalist website with large photographs of their selections. Their main thing is salad, but they also offer wild rice bowls and juices. You can make your own for the salads and bowls. The vibe is distinctly Tribeca in this location – it matches the price tag of the area. Technically, they’re a chain, but the location’s decorations made it feel boutique. I think that for the price, it could be even better, but I can see why it’s worth the splurge. I had a salad with wild grains and arugula,(you can get 2 bases for free), and then 4 toppings for free(not enough toppings), plus avocado and baked falafel. The avocado was $ 1.25, and the falafel was $ 2. Cheeses count as premiums – shaved parm, feta, or cheddar – and are $ 1.25/each. I didn’t get any cheese on my salad, but I don’t think it could be so special and tasty as to warrant that much extra for something that’s usually included in regular toppings. You can, however, choose up to 2 free dressings that come on the side. I like that because I usually ask for my dressing on the side anyway, since I don’t like when my salad is drowning in the stuff. The quality of the food definitely shines through, but again, without a coupon, the price is around $ 11 – 15 for a salad that you could get with twice the toppings for $ 8 aruond the corner at Hudson Market. In that sense, it’s not a good deal… I’m not sure if I would come back for the full price salad, although I will say that the combination I got was pretty epic, so I just might have to splurge again son.
