It’s a small and petty restaurant. They don’t accept discover card and prefer cash. Though the owners are Korean, their Korean food here doesn’t taste Korean. I don’t recommend this restaurant, go somewhere else to eat since there are plenty of other good asian restaurants in NYC.

My usual udon place closed 2 years ago and so I’ve been going to Sunrise Mart for a fix. But today was especially cold and they had closed the kitchen as soon as my boyfriend and I got there. Disappointed, we walked downtown only to spot this little gem. We only had udon that night, shrimp tempura and beef udon. I had the beef which was nice, the broth progessively tasted better and better as the night went on(since the beef kinda marinated there). The shrimp tempura also had a nice flavor and an, of course, fishier/shrimpier broth. The tempura batter was nice and not too bland or too overwhelming. A very nice place to eat. The staff was very friendly towards me and my boyfriend.

Chicken teriyaki, bulgogi and bibimbap is worth a try.
