Expectedly good pizza, clean dining room(and bathroom!). It was too cold to sit outside but the patio looks like a great place to eat when it’s warm. $ 12 for a 13″ pie and a soda is probably the best deal for good pizza in the West Village. The pizza itself is very tasty. The crust is thin but not brittle and the sauce and toppings are plentiful but not overdone. I’d definitely recommend this place based on it, but having a nice area to sit and enjoy it is the cherry on top.

I came here one night with a friend to take a break between classes. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and I guilty admit that I did not show any table manners that night and wolfed more than half of the pie. I blame it on the pizza! While I dont normally like thin crust pizza, this one was excellent. They were very generous with their cheese and pepperoni toppings. There was a certain aftertaste after eating the pizza that I have never experienced with pizza before but it was nice. The seating inside is spacious and definitely group friendly. I can’t wait to come back for their outdoor seating when it gets warm! The men who work there are very kind and answered any questions we had patiently.

As someone who is lactose-intolerant, I don’t typically enjoy eating pizza. Every once in a while, though, I have mad cravings for marinara sauce and tons of vegetables smeared on top of piping hot, carb-y pizza dough(without cheese, that is). I was in West Village when I decided to finally satisfy my pizza craving. Because of my dietary restriction, I can’t just casually buy a slice from premade-and-heat-before-you-eat pizza joints around the neighborhood. Susanna Pizzeria, a modern and sleek pizza parlor, caught my eyes. Apparently, Susanna originated in Verona, Italy. It was founded by three brothers(family-owned!) and they decided to enter NYC and open a location here in the greatest culinary city in the world. I ordered a 17″ family-sized pizza(that’s the great thing about pizza… they taste great even when cold!) with marinara sauce, mushroom, and basil. It took about 10 minutes for the pizza to come out of the brick oven. Susanna is very generous with its ingredients — the thin crust pizza dough was covered in bed of succulent marinara sauce and topped with tons of mushrooms. I only wish there was more basil because I love the complex flavor it adds. The pizza was thin, with the crust that didn’t taste too doughy.

This would be a 5 it cost less. I’ll spend money on high quality food, but when you’ve got multiple pizza joints on every block in The village, this is a little much. That being said, this thin crust and salty cheese is incredibly good.

I went for lunch on a weekday. No other customer execpt myself– although it was lunch hour. Food wasn’t great– Pasta a bit undercooked. Service was ok but would not go back.

I had a pazinni and it was very good. It’s a new creation from the chef. Very light and great for when you’re not feeling a full pizza. The chef was really cool to us. So friendly and made sure that we enjoyed out food. We ate out back for a late dinner and the seating was scenic. We loved the charm. I’ll go back for sure.

I came here with a party of 6 and it was pretty easy to make reservations on a Saturday night. Actually the place was pretty empty, which might have been a sign. The patio in the back is realy nice, but that’s about all I liked when I left. The service was very… weird. We had to ask multiple times for plates(he brought us 5 plates, so we had to ask for 6 after he saw he was one short), we got the wrong order – the server did not listen to what we requested and he didn’t offer to swap it out, and we kept having to flag him down to bring us silverware, glasses for wine(if you see 6 people, bring six glasses!), etc. He was also way too friendly and trying to be chummy, which would have been ok but he wasn’t a good server – prioritze buddy! For the food(again, not what we ordered), we had the vegetarian pizza which was six different slices of veggie pizza. Cool in theory, but they were all just ok. We also had the buffalina which came with arugula which did not compliment the pizza at all, and the proscuitto which lacked flavor. As other people have mentioned, the crust is dry and tasteless. In this area, you are much better off at a different place for dinner!

3.5* On the bright side, this place is super-friendly, has quality ingredients and offers lots of flexibility when it comes to half-and-half and modifying toppings. Also, the hot-pepper oil is lovely. I do think a touch more sauce on the pizza would be nice, and they need to crank up the oven a bit to get some more char and crispness on the crust, but that said, the pies are by no means flaccid or doughy. In short, Susanna has solid potential, but probably needs to up its game a little to contend with the many nearby competitors.

Last sunday we went Susanna pizzeria An nice-style Italian atmosphere is created in this cozy modern space. Their coal oven thin crust pizza is touted by many to be the best in Manhattan — which results is amazing. The thin crust is flavorful and perfectly textured: the crispy, blackened bottom combined with a moist, slightly yeasty fullness. If you like toppings on your pizza, they offers a wide array of high quality choices; citterio pancetta, hormel or esposito sweet Italian sausage, ricotta impastata, imported anchovies, roasted peppers, calamata olives, red onions, Italian ham, artichokes, pepperoni, spinach and fresh mushrooms can all be added to your pizza My new favorite place!!!

I cannot exclaim any further how much I love Susanna’s. I stumbled here with a friend after dark dining at a nearby bistro. We already ate dinner, but since Susanna was open late, we decided to order some light desserts. We ordered a Tiramisu as well as an order of Chocolate Soufflé. Both were EXCELLENT. Even with a full stomach, I was able to gobble down all of my Tiramisu. Since we came on Valentines Day night, Susanna’s was also offering a heart pizza option on their menu. We didn’t get to try this since we were so full, but if they have this special item next year, we will be sure to return. The best part of Susanna’s isn’t just in the food and delicacies. I have actually never seen such amazing service in a small pizza shop! Whether we came at an optimal time or not, the workers here, along with the other customers were so free to join in conversation with one another. The worker at one point event sat down next to us and truly was curious whether we enjoyed our desserts or not :) I am very pleased with my experience and will return next Valentines Day for sure! I wish I could think of a downside to Susanna’s, but from my visit — there really isn’t.

Susanna Pizzeria is a fairly new establishment on Bleecker. As a huge fan of thin crust pizza, I always find myself here after yoga(I’m terrible, I know…). Service is friendy and very accomodating! I told them I was on a tight schedule but wasn’t sure if it was possible for them to prepare my pizza that quickly, especially at a sit-in restaurant. They were extremely fast and still very delicious! PS– it also has a rotating oven, you can see it in action if you grab a table in the back. Tip: Dont forget to ask for their hot oil to drizzle on top of your pizza! SOGOOD!

My friends and I stumbled upon this pizzeria as we were waiting to head to the comedy cellar. It was freezing in NYC and the fleur de lis imprints reminded us of saint louis so we walked in. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and even friendlier customers(in NYC, I know!). We decided to split a Carbonara between the three of us and the staff were accommodating to make only half of the pizza with bacon as one of our friend doesn’t eat it. It came out fresh out of the wood fired oven and into our lucky mouths. I cannot even begin to tell you how delicious the pizza was. The egg made the pizza so creamy and the bacon was perfectly sliced thin with just the right amount of crisp. The crust was thin and crispy around the edges with just the right amount of tomato sauce. Oh and it’s BYOB and discounted for NYU students. How cool is that?! Susannas’s is a newer pizzeria, but definitely competitive and delicious enough for NYC. Come here stat!

Excellent thin crust pizza and probably the most friendly service I have experienced in NYC. Prices are really fair and they even have a studen discount. This is going to become a weekly eat, for sure.

In a part of the city where there’s a pizza shop on every friggin’ block, why choose Susanna? — High quality ingredients, expertly prepared — You can bring your own alcohol — Service that wants to go above and beyond for you — Great modern atmosphere with room to have a private chat — Large groups are OK — Italian family recipes — Rarely ever a wait for dinner(so far) — Upscale experience for an affordable price I have been three times now and have been impressed each time by the quality of the food, the preparation, and the service. I can’t give you anything bad about this place. It’s still fairly new in the neighborhood and I really hope it survives because other NYC pizza joints in the area just don’t offer the same quality and experience that you can get here. Here’s what I usually get, shared for two: –Insalata Susanna(greens, artichokes, parmesan, balsamic) $ 11 –Small Carrettiera Pizza(tomato, mozzarella, onions, sausage, mushroom) $ 16 –Aranciata San Pellegrino $ 3.5

Went last night for a friend’s birthday with a group of 25, yup 25, people so I have to give props to the restaurant for that alone. Firstly, BYOB! Service: Getting our menus and wine opened was a little slow for our huge group, as expected, but nothing to complain about. We ordered about 10 pizzas for the group with very mixed reviews. Personally, my BF and i LOVED it! We ordered the Mateo, which was rich, creamy, and cheesey all on a flatbread-like pizza. ORDERTHIS! Other hits were the pizza-sandwiches, which look more like a pizza quesadilla and come served on a piece of cut wood, and the salads, which are topped with shaved Parmesan. Now for the bad part of the review… be very wary of what type of pizza you order. Many of the people in our party ended up with pizza dough + marinara + 4 mini pepperonis… extremely underwhelming. Now this could have been their fault for not reading the menu closely enough, but it was described as worse than«the english muffin pizzas I used to make in grade school» and happened to multiple people at our table. Many people also complained about being hungry afterwards, as the pizzas are extremely thin. My recommendation: 1) Go with the Mateo 2) Know how big the pizzas are. For dinner, in my opinion a Small = 1 person, and a Large = 2 – 3 people. If I didn’t have the complaints of the others ringing in my ear, I would have rated this place a 4.2

High-quality thin crust pizza. Nice and chewy crust and good ingredients, but it didn’t make it into my all time favorites(the competition is fierce these days), Still, I may hit them up again in the future. Some notes: –BYOB is no more as of late December 2013(d’oh!) –The dudes working here are nice, and appear to be Italian. Not sure of it’s a family business or not. –I was here right after Christmas so it was really slow, and for some reason my interaction with the waiter was unnecessarily awkward(I also tried to flag down some patron’s gf thinking she was a hostess… score).

Nice, thick, chewy, freshly made bigoli pasta. Pizza was just okay for me but it might be that I’m not a huge fan of this styled pizza. But it was definitely far from being the $ 1 pizzas that you see around the city. What you can see is that there is a lot of pride in their food as I watched the guys making pizza behind the counter with care and expertise. Ambiance is fine but we just chose the wrong time to come by for dinner. There was a large party(I think a few of them were still drunk from Santa Con) and they were obnoxiously loud. The server even apologized to us on their behalf which I appreciated right as a couple of the guys in the party started yelling at the top of their lungs. All that was missing on their table were those plastic red Solo cups. There was an outdoor patio which I am sure is nice to enjoy the warmer temperatures. I’d return. Let’s just hope those«bros» stay home and recoup.

As if we needed another fantastic pizza option in Greenwich Village… Bleecker Street is going to be known as pizza row if all these fantastic pizzerias keep opening up. Between Joe’s, John’s of Bleecker, Keste, Fiore’s, and now Susanna, we’re seriously spoiled. I did a quick seamless order to try out Susanna, and it arrived very much in the 20 – 35 minute window. Low maintenance — I like that. I tried a basic margarita with pepperoni, and was surprised how thin this pizza was when it arrived. Very very very thin, thinner than Joe’s, and definitely more in the Scuola Italia than New York. Cracker-like towards the edges, but softer in the middle. The flavor profile, however, was UNCANNY in its resemblance to my childhood pizzeria, Angelo’s, in central New Jersey. The cheese, minimal sauce, and spices were practically identical. If not for the crust, and smaller crispier pepperoni, I would not be able to tell the difference. I guess that’s more of a tribute to Angelo’s though. Susanna’s was definitely worth a try, but for me, I prefer Fiore’s(right down the block from Susanna’s, on Bleecker) for all my latest Greenwich Village pizza needs. Their savory sauce really puts it over the edge.

Seamless delivery RUSTICA13″/$ 20 — tomato, mozzarella, onion, mushrooms, gorgonzola and, I am very sorry to say but, I could only have one bite. Pizza, Roman way — thin crust pizza and never cracker or Neapolitan — rather thick and a softer-more bread like consistency with a larger outer edge(cornicione) pizza. This pizza we got was none of those but more closer to Neapolitan but thin. Our pizza dough was undercooked, no crusty colors, and it was bianca! It didn’t have any crunchiness on the bottom and deliciously chewy the rest. Our Rustica was just chewy but the toppings were fresh and light, I wish there were more porcini on it. It was a let down, especially coming from Italians from Italy making, spiacente! If I was at this pizzeria, it would be an easy fix, puting back in an oven for few minutes and it would be a good pizza.

I’ve passed this place a couple of times on Bleecker and hardly gave it a stare as I figured whats the point of another pizza place in this neighborhood. Well, after trying their sample slices a few times I became more curious and finally ate a meal there! I’m glad I did. Susanna has Italian style pizza which you can’t find to often in New York. The waiters themselves are Italian and the owner named the place after his own mom. We ate a «17 ham and cheese pie and I was very happy with it. It was more then enough for two hungry people and the service was quite stellar. I also enjoyed the appetizer: focaccia, It was shaped like a pizza and with olive oil delicious. A little tip: sit outside. The place looks empty from the street because everybody is enjoying the very cozy outdoor area, with a white picket fence and calm lighting. Check this place out, I could see it getting very popular soon.
