I thought I had found the perfect Starbucks when I came here last week. They had the trifecta that any NYC coffee shop should: free wifi, bathroom, and outlets near some of the tables. This Starbucks had it all, and the friendly service was a plus.
Fast forward to today. What happened to the friendly service? Their drinks are average for a Starbucks, but the employees are downright unfriendly today. Maybe it’s the rain.
Final warning: BEWARE THE WIFI. It simply doesn’t work today. Thankfully this place is in range of a TWC hotspot ($ 3/​hour if you don’t have a subscription).
I give it an average 3 stars, but again, if you have work to do, is it worth risking lack of wifi?

At 8:45PM on June 29th, I walked into this Starbucks location to buy a snack and use the restroom.
An employee was talking with two customers in front of the door to the restroom. She told the three of us that she was «closing the restroom because we are about to close.»
Absurd. Rude. Inconsiderate. Mean. The list goes on.
I bought my snack and uses the restroom at Aroma. And the workers there were a dream.
What goes around comes around, honey.

Very friendly staff, a skip and a hop for me in the early AM to do some writing/​reading across the street from bed. Weird layout but if you come in the morning (when tourist hell is easily avoided), you’ll be fine.

Since I wrote my last review on this location they have definitely made some staffing changes. I still frequent this location almost every day and the staff has majorly improved.
There’s one staff member, female, short hair, I wish I knew her name because she deserves special recognition for always being extremely friendly and ready to help.
When I think of Starbucks years back when it wasn’t so huge I remember the staff always being so nice and pleasant. I think with growing companies it may be harder to control that but this location made an excellent choice with her hire. Reminds me of the good old Starbucks days!
