Best bang-for-the-buck barber shop in Manhattan. All of the workers are extremely nice and professional.

You get a bit less than what you pay for. $ 15 is very good in the city. But the barber barely speaks english and couldn’t understand most of my instructions. Very quick cut which is nice, but not if he does it wrong. He was very impatient, which is silly since I was the only customer in the store. Cut turned out alright. Go if you just want a basic cut and aren’t too picky.

I don’t know the name of the guy who cuts my hair. He’s from Ukraine and his hair is thinning so we are kindred spirits. He cut my hair last week and I went to a big family affair and gots lots of compliments which, considering I’m balding and greying, is quite a compliment to him.

This place is awesome, I’m so glad I discovered it. No nonsense, fair prices, great ambience and very friendly. They are quick and they consistently do a nice job no matter who is cutting my hair.

My first visit to Sigfrido’s and I was mightily impressed! I recently moved to New York and needed a place to get my hair cut at short notice. I usually visit trendy salons with the $ 100 price tag, but since I was clueless in this city I decided to visit this place as it is nearby my office and had stellar reviews. These guys really know what they’re doing; a real neat job and super efficient, but did not feel hurried. Loved the classical music in the background. Hair cut was $ 15 and did not ask for change from a $ 20. Pleasant experience. I will certainly be returning here for my next hair cut.

Hours: 7am-6pm Monday Thru Friday; Saturday 7am-5:30pm; Sunday Closed I have been coming here for the last year, and I am always satisfied with the job that Andy and crew do. For a very reasonable price of $ 15 a haircut, you cannot go wrong in here with any of the guys, especially Andy. He is an old-school Italian barber that has had this place for over 40 years, and you can definitely tell by the interior décor :) I don’t think it takes longer than 30 minutes and I have rarely had to wait long, but I will continue to come here.

As a new resident to Gramercy, I was a few weeks past needing a hair cut. I looked at the reviews online and was not disappointed. I walked right in on a Saturday morning at 8:30 and was seated with Mike. Mike had been covering his chair for 31 years. He was very friendly and very efficient. I’ve had a number of compliments on the haircut already today. The price is very affordable at $ 15. The hot foam neck and sideburn shave at the end is a nice touch. I’ll be going back in 4 weeks for my next trim.

I was only in NYC for a couple of weeks and needed some fixing done since my last haircut was pretty bad. Found these guys on Unilocal and went over. Mike cut my hair and it was the best cut I’ve had in a long time. He did exactly what I asked and happily complied when I asked for some changes after he got started. Reasonably priced at $ 15 too.

I needed a cut in Gramercy, and this place happened to be on the map. Now it’s my permanent barber… and I live in Brooklyn. The value for the price is unbeatable. The barbers are extremely thorough, and they won’t talk your ears off. I was sat immediately as I walked in the door, and everything was quick and easy. Go here for a great, old-school barber experience for the best price you’ll find anywhere in the city.

Place is legit, good haircuts, nice staff. The fact they play classical music while you get your hair cut is almost therapeutic.

This has been my favorite barber shop for the last 20 years. Yes I am Asian and Andy has always cut my hair well. Tonight I came in and heard someone yell out he’s a Hoya! I have had every barber in this shop, and have always had a great experience. It is a great family atmosphere, and everyone takes pride in their work. They do like to cut it short, just the way I like it. Now that I know that there is a Hoya dad here I like this place even more. The person who yelled out he’s a Hoya was a friend of mine, and someone who is a great person. To go somewhere where other great Hoyas have been going for years has endeared me even more to this great old school barber shop! Hoya Saxa!

I moved to NYC from the ‘burbs in 2004. I used to go to a great, old-fashioned barber shop where I used to live and was concerned about where I would find a place I could trust in NYC. Well, it happens that I moved right next door to the best one in the city, imo! I’ve since move from my old 22nd street apt to the UES, but I still make the trip to Mike at Sigrido’s! He’s been cutting my hair ever since 2004 – can’t believe it’s almost 10 years now. As you can see, most people on Unilocal love this place – those who give bad reviews don’t know what they’re talking about.

*Review is for Barber Andy* So I’ve been coming here for almost 2.5 years and it seems to be a miss with Barber Andy. He must not know how to cut straight Asian hair or something. –He has unevenly cut my side burns at least twice –He has left a section of my hair untouched where that hair is twice as long as the rest of my head. –Sometimes I feel like he rushes on me so he can cut his other white patrons For the Asians, I recommend having Benny. He seems more knowledgeable and hasn’t messed up on me yet.

Love these guys. They deserve every star. They are always friendly when you walk in the door and they really get to know you. I have been there twice and on the second time(6 weeks later), the guy already knew what I wanted. The haircuts themselves are perfect. Even my wife is happy with my haircut and that is usually impossible. They charge $ 15 for a haircut and it is worth every penny. Go see them. I actually don’t know if they take credit card, I prefer to stop by the ATM and just give the guy a $ 20.

I’ve been going to Sigfrido’s on and off since the 90’s, more since I moved back to New York. I live on Long Island now and drive in about every three weeks just for a good old-fashioned no nonsense hair cut. I used to go to Bruno, now I go to Reuben, they both got it right all the time. Entertaining characters in the place, like Jackie; the banter between the barbers; the smell and sting of witch hazel splashed on a cleanly shaved neck; oodles of magazines(some even current); all the pictures and patches of police, firefighters and uniformed workers on the wall; and if you’re lucky, Sinatra coming out of the Andy’s Bose radio – all these things and more really make this place New York landmark. PS — guys, the hair cut cost $ 13. If you give them a twenty, let them keep the $ 7 change for goodness sake. A beer in a bar cost more than that, and wouldn’t you buy one of these guys a beer if you saw them in a bar? So enough with the $ 2-$ 3 tips, the price of cut from the 90’s was only $ 9 now it’s $ 13-they’ve got to make a living somehow and keep this place going. .. Long live Sigfrido’s!
