Solid place. The meat balls at dig inn are better but I really like thw roast pork they have here. Spicy chicken aint bad either. The red curry sauce is also good but could use a bit more of a kick. I do like the hot bowls here. In terms of grain the farro and basmati rice is pretty good.

Really nice spot to grab some lunch. It’s fast and easy. The food is really tasty. They have alot of healthy selections. The only problem that I had was the pork was a bit salty, other then that it was really good. I will definitely be going back.

Eh. Props for fresh produce… But little to no flavor. It was… plain. I had one of those«oh this is what I ordered?» moments. I got the chorizo bowl. It just tasted like a couple of chorizo pieces on top of rice with spinach :/ Nothing was particularly bad… Just not that well thought out. It wasn’t a complete dish. Disappointing for sure.

I’ve tried the red curry with herb chicken, the red velvet bowl with sirloin and finally the moroccan with salmon — which was by far my absolute favorite of the three. I even asked them to prep the salmon just a touch raw and it was PERFECT. I love that the offerings are diet-friendly, filling and genuinely delicious. Welcome addition for a post workout meal in the area!

I love places like this, where you can choose exactly what you want to put into your meal. If you’re picky with food(not because of taste, but because of nutrition), I recommend this place. Only problem is that the portions were pretty small. The wait can get long during lunch hour, call ahead to avoid the wait!

Overpriced, bland, and customer service is non existent.

Good food and they try to give good service with the lines during lunch but it’s got to be tough with so many stations. I got the chorizo which was a small amount of spinach rice and chorizo sautéed in a pan with garlic and oil. It was good on flavor but was lacking in size. Once the spinach was sautéed it was basically just a rice bowl. It was my fault I guess, they had many more ingredients that looked awesome but I really wanted to try something they had designed themselves. Next time, if there is one, I’ll know to make my own.

Pros: — meat tastes very good — nice décor — free flavored water — convenient location if you’re in Union Square Cons: — small portion sizes(they give you around ½ cup rice, which means there’s not enough rice to go with leftover meat) — line takes forever because they are cooking items to order — cooked spinach is flavorless — rice is flavorless — the employees looked harried and unhappy(at least at peak lunch rush) If you’re really into meat, this is a good place to try. I think I’ve been spoiled by Dig Inn because their vegetables are so flavorful. As such, this was probably my first and last trip to Roast Kitchen.

Went late in the day, people preparing the food must have been exhausted. The food looked as sad as them, $ 13 for a bowl of farro(with pieces hard as rocks) and some meat/spinach is not a good deal. Sweetgreen will give you 2x the food for less…

New location, 1st time been to Roast Kitchen. Tasty and great for the low/no carb high veggie/protein needs.

Roast has somehow expanded very close to its original location, which is inexplicable given how inefficient it seems and how mediocre-to-bad it is. Redeemed an NYU discount here for the really underwhelming Ginger hot Bowl. Months later, they still don’t know how to build an Android app, but I guess the iOS demographic is what these prices cater to anyway.

Ugh did the roast kitchen in financial district recently changed owners? This has gone DOWNHILL in the past 6 Months. So sad. Cheap on the greens and sauce and huge on the grains. Would be fine but the meat guy is not there it’s someone not good anymore. Had to get them to unpack my lunch to give me a roast jalapeño also. Vry sad. Used to be a fav place. Not anymore.

I visited the store on Saturday night, wondering if a new franchise took the place of the last two failed franchises that I liked in that spot. The food: I ordered a Morroccan Beef Bowl which included sliced flank steak, farro(a nice change of pace), roasted onions and peppers and a smoky Moroccan-inspired sauce. It was tasty. I was very full ¾ of the way through my meal and couldn’t finish all of it. Service: my counterperson couldn’t hear/understand my order over the loud music even though I was shouting at her. Atmo: Loud music has been a plague on this location through the two burger joints which occupied it previously. This store also kept the bar-style seating, which I hate since I am short. There is a communal table with bench-style seating at the front of the store.

The most unorganized slow-fast food place ever!!! The chicken is tasteless and bland!!! I will never bother with this new neighborhood addition… DigInn much better food and set up!!!

AMAZING! Super friendly service and delicious food. The red curry and ginger hot bowl are tops, and the shio koji marinated pork is perfectly tender and juicy — really packs the flavor! The staff is friendly, Dino is so sweet — I always leave here smiling. Really happy Roast opened a location so close to where I work– I could certainly eat here every day!

I went to the location on Madison Avenue and…51st street if my memory doesn’t fail me. This location was great. For their second day they are keeping up with the level of traffic they are expected to bring in, and everyone is moving at a good tempo. The food itself is amazing, even offering salmon as an option. This is a restaurant that will bring much competition to other spots in the New York City area. The food I purchased yesterday was great to my taste buds and it was rich in flavor. As for the setting for this location, it’s brightly lit and it looks good. It’s not as big as its Madison Avenue location, but certainly much bigger than its Broadway Times Square location. You will get a seat. I must touch on the beverages. Other locations offer lemonade. This location does offer its usual bottled and canned beverages but it also offers complementary mint and cucumber water — both excellent to provide nutrients our body needs. That alone told me how serious Roast Kitchen is to providing true and wholesome foods. Way to go Roast!

Yay new roast location right off union square! Really fresh food, nice people who work there, and good selection of toppings. Many veggie /vegan options as well. They have complimentary cucumber water and mint water at the front which is a nice touch! I got a «make your own» cold salad bowl today with avocado, cauliflower, roasted corn, feta, quinoa and avocado dressing(fairly big size) and it all came out to only like $ 7 and change– not bad at all. If you’re on a time crunch at lunch you might want to order ahead and pick up there because the line gets long.
