Lattes are not their forte I would say. Cool little hipster vibe in midtown east. Feels like SF/Berkeley

Iced mocha was chalky with cocoa bits(?) and had no kick. I expected more for six dollars. Studious ambiance. Took a while for the staff to take my order, even though no one else was in line.

Mmmm the smell of roasted beans as soon as you walk in perks you up right away! Espresso w/8oz — $ 3.95 Damn this was good, I would get 6oz milk next time but this was like a pillow. After some steam, bells and whistles, he gave me a cup and I swore… for a second I saw a little French palmier floating on top! The amount of texture, aeration and barista magic he put into that milk was astonishing(next level frothing). The taste and quality was very much on par with Stumptown Little small but a decent sized table for 5 ppl and some window seats available, very clean and great coffee! Recommended: Espresso w/milk

the service was five stars the coffee though was three, and that’s what I came here for. I recognise that I’m an Australian coffee snob, but this place holds itself out as a coffee snob type place so that’s why its just ok.

I’m reviewing Perk Kafe while I’m actually here, so expect some free association. The coffee shop is tucked away on 37th street between 3rd and Lexington away from the insanity of the avenues, but for those in the know, it’s apparently a popular place. It seats maybe 14 people, and people really tend to settle in for the day once they get here. I’m tucked away in a cramped little corner and keep waiting for someone to leave so I can take their spot but so far, nobody has. The interior is cute, the main draw being the giant, red, lit-up«Perk» sign toward the back. The light cages are also a nice touch. I’m enjoying a delicious cold brew coffee flavored with raw sugar syrup, and I just polished off a salted peanut butter cookie that I ordered on a whim. The salt-peanut butter combo, a riff on salted caramel, was SO good and really made the cookie for me. The prices are a little on the high side. The selection of other treats is fairly small, but they carry some doughnuts that look at awful lot like they’re from Dough… if so, that’s awesome. Note that you can buy bags of Stumptown coffee, ranging from a normal size to freaking huge, here. Perk is definitely a cool spot and a bit of an oasis in MH.

I like Perk Kafe. It’s a solid local coffee shop. I don’t know why, but I’m not a fan of class espresso cups which they use here, but the espresso was pretty good. They have a time limit on their wifi so keep that in mind. Service was good. I would come here again.

Probably my favorite coffee shop in Murray HIll(and convenient because I live close by). Staff is always kind, their coffee is good, and the ambiance of the coffee shop itself is comfortable, modern, and relaxing. It’s a small space(one big table in the middle with some small tables and bar stools scattered off to the sides). I would love to work here more often, but their wi-fi is incredibly slow(which makes working really inefficient). Otherwise, would recommend highly for a place to grab coffee and go or to catch up with a friend.

Short and simple. A true«local» coffee shop nestled in the murray hill area surrounded by corporate Starbucks locations. They serve stumptown coffee in any type of brew method you like. Whether it’s Chemex(minimum 2 orders) and V60 pour over styles, to 12 hour Cold Brew overnight, to making espressos on a $ 15,000 La Marzocco espresso machine. Come here and try the different styles and help support a local business.

Read somewhere in an article that Perk has been ranked as one of the top places in the city, so decided to pay a visit after a short run. Secretly hidden in the corner, Perk coffee indeed offered me a typical cozy feeling on this relaxed Sat morning, something I was longing for during the whole stressful week. Tried their skim latte, simple yet everlasting. Their signature drinks are tea lattes — chai or even chili! Yes, Perk checked!

Very cute and cozy café. Espresso is strong and hearing good music in the background early in the morning is a blessing.

i came in to order my go-to vanilla latte and was sad when the barista told me they don’t carry flavored syrup. When he saw the bummerdom on my face, he suggested a pumpkin spice alternative(it was fall, made sense) and it was so tasty — flavorful, not overly sweet, really smooth and the milk was so perfectly frothed. i enjoyed it in the shop. Came in after lunch — around 2 – 3 and had no trouble getting the window seat. totally open, great people watching, and lots of natural light. can’t wait to come back.

I went there on a break from an exam and the seats were almost filled to capacity at around 10:30am, and did get busier as the hour passed. I ordered the honey almond latte, which was quickly made. I know honey is sweet but this latte was SO sweet – I couldn’t drink more than half of it. The idea is good, but maybe just a touch of honey so you can actually taste the coffee.

Perk is my favorite coffee shop in Manhattan these days. I’ve tried a lot of other coffee shops in the area but no other has checked off so many items on my wish list: — Unpretentious servers who know their coffee like pros. — Great flavorful espresso and foamy milk whether full fat, skin or almond. — An arsenal of healthy and some not so healthy snacks. — A friendly, low-key crowd — Ample natural light and a sturdy workspace at the communal table. — Comfortable enough chairs to sit for a while but not so comfy that you get sleepy. — Clean and easy to access restroom. — Fast and reliable free wifi. The only possible drawback I see is that it can get full in terms of seating, but, as there are not tons of plugs(maybe 6 total outlets), not so many people stay forever and a spot usually opens up after a short time. Thanks to the baristas for making this cute space a Murray Hill hidden gem.

My absolute favorite coffee shop on the East side! I stop by here every morning before I head into the office. The baristas are always so friendly and remember my weird particularities(I need to have my baked goods double bagged). I’m a big fan of their hot and iced coffees and their hot and iced mochas. My day is immediately off to a good start when I take that first sip! The baked goods are also excellent. They are stocked with the best ones on Friday(amazing donuts and scones); I usually get the cheddar herb scone on Friday. During the week, I either get the almond croissant or the black currant scone.

Perk Kafe is a cute café that serves as community meet up in Murray Hill. My friend, K and I were looking to try Ippodo’s matcha but unfortunately, they were closed until Feb 1st. Shoot! Missed them by 3 days! So an alternative for our caffeine fix was Perk Kafe. Perk was a shelter from the cold, dusty streets of Murray Hill. We found many locals sipping lattes, punching out novels on their laptops and stock trading advice on this Saturday afternoon. It was nice to hang out at the large communal table and try not to eavesdrop on other people’s conversations. K enjoyed his brewed Stumptown coffee and I enjoyed my jasmine tea. We left warmed, alert and happy.

A coffee oasis nestled in the middle of the east side, perk café is filled with a lot of regulars. Like other Unilocalers have mentioned this is a really cozy and friendly environment. I tried their latte and was really happy that it wasn’t overly creamy like some lattes I’ve tried at other places. Nice place to read a book for an hour or two while you sip on coffee but it gets crowded so I would prefer to hit this place up during an off time like a weekday afternoon.

Friendly staff, matcha, and(wait for it) a gluten free chocolate peanut butter cookie. I don’t have any gluten allergies, but like 95% of America I believe this means that this cookie is a healthier alternative? Which means that this cookie is indeed healthy?(I’m kidding. I know cookies aren’t healthy. But THROWME A BONE!) The seating did get a little cramped as my work session went on, so I only stayed for about an hour. But I’m happy to have dropped by! Would recommend!

Love the coffee, not the cramped space or price. Nonetheless, the smooth espresso is worth it. No decaf brewed, but any espresso beverage can be decaf. Their peanut butter cookies are a little sweet, but doughy in the center and balanced with kosher salt. There are a few packaged sweets(vegan and/or gluten-free) as well. The price– $ 8.50 for a PB cookie and almond milk latte. Definitely only worth it for a special treat.

This little café is hiding in Kips Bay area and I don’t think I will ever find it if I am not around the area. I have cups and simply just want to try out new café and Perk Kafe is the closest. I tried their hot chocolate and they used Jacque Torres Chocolate. They don’t simply used a powder but real chocolate makes the drink thick and smooth. This is how I love it. The place is small but they do have wifi and you can get some work done here.

Came here to try the shaken iced soy matcha. Got it unsweetened and it’s so soy-tasty and so matcha-y. $ 5 for a 16oz drink! A bit on the heavier side for a summer drink but delicious regardless! Time to bid the local Starbucks goodbye! PS beware that people give you glares when you walk in but recognize that it’s okay — they just don’t want the place to get crowded :)
