«Is this place in HK?» I absolutely love this place. A decent sized place that is LGBT-friendly but does not have the attitude of the neighborhood. This place is really chill with an excellent beer selection. I have not experienced any issues with a**hole bartenders here because they are pretty cool and they like to chat. One of the bartenders ALWAYS makes sure that gin and soda is made correctly. Keep in mind that this place is not fancy at all but it excels in giving you decent drinks for a fraction of the cost of other places in the area. The bar has a large open space and a lounge-esque room, which has great potential to have a bday party or some other random function. I would recommend Perdition as a great pre-party spot. Hell, it would be a great«we have great drinks here and why do we need to go someplace else» spot.

After experiencing a horrible start to the Friday night life at P*SH in NY and to be denied because my boyfriend and his friends had guide dogs… this place was the best! Walking in there was no hesitation from the staff or anyone else. A few looks here and there but it was a lot better than what we experienced earlier on in the evening. PERDITION is the place that the VISUALLYIMPAIRED or BLINDLGBTQ Community wants to go to assure they will not be discriminated against because of their guide dogs!!! Thank you to the folks at Perdition!!!

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place. This is the epitome of a neighborhood bar. It’s a place you want to come hang out and meet friends. They have a nice beer selection and some menu items if you need some food. That’s all fine and lovely but it is the service that is spectacular. Scott is awesome as are Sean and Jessica and everyone who works there. If you want a cool, relaxed place with no pretense… look no further. If my body would let me drink every day, I would be found hanging out at this incredible place.

I visited this establishment during the summer to meet up with associates. It was comfortable and low key. The music was good and helped set a good vibe. The cocktails were good and the average price for Manhattan. The restroom was clean and well lit. Overall, I had a good afternoon/evening here.

Very nice place, a mix between old fashion and new age style, the music is just perfect, everything’s is just how he have to be.

My husband I went as soon as we landed in NYC! Scott the bartender is amazing. The atmosphere is how all bars should be. If I lived in town, I’d go everyday. Everyone needs to check it out.

I have honestly never been disappointed by this place. They have a great selection of cocktails(and even a pretty extensive seasonal menu) all for normal NYC prices(~$ 10). The drinks are pretty strong so you definitely get your money’s worth. I’ve had their appetizers, too, which are really good. The staff has always been friendly and it’s never been so crowded that we can’t find a seat.

A local bar that’s in that middle ground between upscale and regular pub. Classic bar setting with a few tables, then a nice lounge-like area in the back. Cocktail options here are extensive if not pricey($ 9 – 14) — with a seasonal menu that has a considerable amount of variety(the fall one had about 10 different apple concoctions). Beer list has the basics with a few craft options, but nothing to brag about. This place is never too crowded, friendly servers, and it’s closeby to where I live, so will be back for convenience sake.

I’m a big fan of Perdition as it is, but I had a fantastic Bloody Mary and a barrel if laughs with bartender Scott today. Always great service, fantastic music, and a trivia day(Verbal Abusive Trivia, Sundays) to travel for.

If this is truly Perdition there is no point to worrying about admission to Heaven. George Bernard Shaw was on to something when he wrote that given the choice he would select damnation just because Heaven sounded so boring. Too many goodie-goodies and angelic choirs! This version of Purgatory seemed like nothing more than a pleasant neighborhood dive bar — not too dirty, pleasant barkeeps and server, HD for the sports folk; and quiet conversations along the rail and at the tables. Nary a spittoon for the craven. Very decent beer for the crafty, and solid, well made cocktails for those so inclined. So, when I haphazardly wandered in a few nights ago on my way back to the hotel to have a nightcap after a long day, the impression was more of a quiet watering hole, not the Gates of Hell. I was immediately welcomed by a smiling face, and took a stool toward the end of the bar. The tender introduced himself and waited easily for my request. I went with my standard when first visiting a bar, and was very satisfied with the result. Dude had the touch. I had a second, and about an hour later I had found a new home in the Apple. I slept well that night. My soul intact. If this was Perdition, I was buying!

Decent beer selection, regular crowd and 9 times out of 10 you can have a conversation without having to yell at the other person. Nice little Midtown West/Hell’s Kitchen spot where you can catch a game, happy hour, or both. Definitely one of the quieter, local spots in the Kitchen that I’ve grown fond of over the last handful of months. The food isn’t bad, the staff is always nice and the local following really makes the atmosphere.

As a longtime Hells Kitchen-ite I have been coming to Perdition since not long after it opened and it always feels like coming home. The owners are also the staff, and it means that people – whether you’ve been there before or not – are treated like family. Scotty, Sean, Jess and the rest of the staff are the best in New York. Beer and craft cocktail selections are always great and the prices are reasonable. There is some bar food, but not a full kitchen so don’t expect too much. The space is also one of the only in the neighborhood where there is plenty of room to host a big birthday gathering. There is lots of seating and even a semi-private lounge area you can call to reserve. I have been to countless parties here and everyone always leaves happy, no matter the crowd you’re bringing. Plus, it’s always easy to get a cab on 10th Avenue right out front, and the deli on 48th Street makes the best late night sandwiches. Beyond all that, I met my boyfriend of four years here! It’s one of my favorite spots in New York for many reasons.

I’ve been here twice, once just casually around 9pm and once for a grad school-event back in the spring. This place is reasonably big, and has a small private area in the back. It’s generally not busy and seems like a neighborhood bar with local customers. Drinks — Nothing bad to say about this. They weren’t skimping on the alcohol like many places in the city do. This would be a three-star rating if it were not for the experience I had with the school event. It was a fundraiser, and a classmate had worked out a deal with this place where we would get one dollar from every drink purchased back(and it would go to the charity we were supporting). The bartender was just supposed to put the one dollar bills in a large jar that was sitting on the bar near our students. In return, we brought literally 40 customers to the bar. This is a large number given that the other time I was here, there were probably 5 people in the entire bar. There was some confusion about people paying with credit card and how he was going to account for that, so someone reminded him that he was supposed to be putting aside a dollar each time a drink was purchased. He assured us that it was all being kept track of on the computer and that he would just add the number of drinks up at the end and give us the appropriate amount of money. Okay, sounds good… But not. I personally was watching him later as he was dealing with people who were paying cash. Instead of putting a dollar into the jar each time someone gave him money, he literally put all the money into the register. Every so often though, he’d put a dollar in the jar. There was no rhyme or reason to if/when he would put money in the jar. Bottom-line, at the end of the night, the amount of money we made did not correspond to what we should have made based on the number of drinks people were buying. I have no doubt this is because this bartender was not keeping track of what was going on. Whether this was done purposely to be deceitful or simply because he couldn’t come up with a good system to keep himself organized, I’m not sure… I would like to think he was just overwhelmed by the number of patrons or that there is some other logical explanation. Either way, I will never return here.

I finally found a good old neighborhood bar in Perdition. The bartender, Scotty, was a friendly guy who seemed to know a lot of the customers. There were clearly some regulars. An interesting crowd for a Thursday night. Definitely lots of folks who were 40 and over, some too drunk for their own good. There was also some kind of charity event going on in the back that sounded like a bunch of sorority girls. The bar is fairly spacious and there’s a lounge type area in the back, which I didn’t get to check out because of the charity event. Drinks were strong and cheap. Vodka and pineapple for $ 7, Maker’s Mark on the rocks for $ 9.

Came here for an event for a publisher, and really had a great time. Cozy venue, amazingly friendly and accommodating staff, and they have cider on tap! Great for a corporate happy hour, close enough to transport and can fit 20 people comfortably in addition to its normal customers.

Party of four following an afternoon of poetic pageantry on a Saturday night, without consulting Unilocal,Perdition enthroned upon to enforce our friendship and conglomerate to drinks and appetizers mainly based on ease of our current location. Seating is ample for a lounge bar in the rear and a private lounge room in the far rear. Décor is simple. My white Sangria at $ 8.00 was average but not fruity. Our platter of Hummus and Caesar salad arrived awkwardly mismatched under a new hand bus boy who is ignorant of good quality food, which the salad was served without dressing substituted by Hummus. No Pita bread. Caesar salad and Hummus was not an electrifying combination that one person in our party blatantly voiced our discontent to the bar tender/hostess«it sucks,» which was then immediately remedied for a substitute of our appropriate order with matching condiments. Overall quality of food is average. Upon receiving our individual bills which to our deliverance of average in customer service, no charge were imbued for either Caesar salad or Hummus platter. Good rectify on Perdition’s behalf. The ailing economy has greatly affected the general public from life’s enjoyments as Perdition was near empty on a Saturday night. Our party of four were the main patrons while a few strays were at the bar. Facilities are located on the lower level which are relatively clean.

Has anyone else walked into this place and got a huge whiff of gross?! That and the creepy guys staring at me were my first experience in this place, but with a few beers, all problems were solved. I came at around 7ish on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty… but it was a Wednesday so I’m definitely not making my final judgment about this place based on this experience. I did have a pretty good time here. No real complaints. yet…Good service, pretty cool people with the occasional whiff of I don’t wanna know what. My Stella did taste a little funky. maybe new keg was the issue? Either way, if I’m ever on this part of town, I’ll have no problems coming back.

It’s been over 2 years since my last review, so I thought I’d write a quick update. First of all… WE’REBACK! After a year and a half, we have officially decided to make Perdition our«local» again. Since my last review — Better beer selection. SAMEGREATPRICES! Expanded food selection. SAMEAMAZINGHAPPYHOUR! Add all of those things together and you’ll find one happy camper(me) sitting at the bar, working his way through 20oz draughts like it’s his job.
