Pauline Books is the first bookstore I think of when I’m looking for Catholic related anything. It is a small shop, but well stocked with different literature, prayer books, rosaries, and other related goods. I’ve stopped by a couple of times now for various things such as baptism gifts, and various reflection booklets during Lent and I end up staying longer just browsing. Regular bookstores don’t really have a huge selection of religious literature, so it is definitely a treat. It is in a convenient area in Midtown very close to Bryant Park. I wish I could stop in a little more often, but because of the 5:30 closing time, I usually can only go on weekends on days off. Well worth checking out. Remember to check in on Unilocal to get a small discount on your purchase!

Warm and friendly customer service. Pauline books is well organized, and stocked. It is definitely a Catholic Barnes & Noble. Will return.

Where do I start? This place is great! OK, full disclosure: I work here. It’s like I’m a kid in a candy store, and I get to do it for a living! What’s so great about Pauline Books & Media? Well… if you’re a reader(check) and into God, theology, and spirituality(yup, yup, and yup!), then this is a store you’ve got to check out. I’m particularly nerdy about the selection of biblical scholarship(which constantly turns over) and the biography/lives of saints shelves. Also check out the theology titles and spirituality books. We do OK on the religious bookmarks, holy cards, rosaries, and other holy do-dads. We also have home wall décor such as crucifixes, icons, and framed prints. And the best for last: we also have a small quiet chapel up in the loft space. So if you’re in the city and you just need a quiet place to breathe and take some time with God, just pop upstairs for a bit. It’s where I usually start my day.

What a great store! It’s well organized and has plenty of room. They’ve got the most beautiful crucifix collection I’ve seen. Icons galore, too! There’s a chapel on the second floor that’s open whenever the store is, but I didn’t check it out.
