The protein shake smoothies gave us food poisoning. While we where there the staff seemed rude. The food was average and uninspired. Never again.

I had the Cajun chicken with pene whole wheat pasta. It was very good. Actually I had two. The portions are not that big, for me. They have many healthy choices on the menu. I would recommend you stop in and try it if your in the area.

I’ve been a regular at Muscle Maker Chelsea since they opened 2 years ago. Last night was the final straw in my support of this place. I’ve noticed the quality and customer service slipping for some time, however, last night had to be the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced. Nasty order taker, slow service, and then order taker who retaliates by delaying order entry after I asked her to be polite. Add to this, an ineffective manager who could care less. Afterwards when I got home with order, I discovered that they gave me incorrect order. I can’t help but think that it was because I asked order taker to be polite and treat customers better.

Alas MMG was a victim of Hurricane Sandy. If you are a local you may recall a building in Chelsea which had its entire façade blown off. That would be where MMG was.

This is my go too healthy order place. I love this chain and I used to get their wraps in Jersey too. Rocky Balboa wrap is the best! Everything is healthy so you can’t really go wrong here.

I have been wanting to try MMG for awhile now. I had nothing planned today so I decided I would go for a late lunch and try it out. When I arrived there was only one guy in the restaurant eating(I thought it was weird it was so empty… But it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Maybe they are busy at noon?). I was greeted quickly by a girl with red hair behind the counter. I ordered the«Tex Mex Fajita Wrap» with chicken(635 calories). She helped me pick out the healthiest side dish they have. I choose steamed broccoli with no butter. The total of my food was $ 9.55. She told me to have a seat and she would bring me my food. I sat down and within 10ish mins she brought me my food. It was presented nicely on a real plate with a knife and fork. I thought the food was excellent for being a «health» conscious place. The portion size was just right– not too much and not too little. The wrap had onions, peppers, reduced fat cheese, fat free sour cream and salsa in a jalapeño wrap. I was really wanting to finish lunch with a «Chocolate Peanut Butter» protein shake, but after seeing how big they are I had to pass. Overall I enjoyed MMG. I will most certainly go back again!

I really like this place but the customer service is awful. I called when I realized that my seamless order was ordered to a building next door. The guy on the phone basically hung up on me and said«what do you want me to do». I was really nice and apologetic on the phone. Sucks b/c I order from here all the time, rethinking this place.

pas mal. had the arizona entrée which is brown rice, chicken, turkey bacon, and some kind of sauce. my food tasted really good but i don’t really know for sure how healthy it is bc i don’t know what that sauce is and i didn’t see them cook it. you never know… but i suppose it’s a better choice over fried or processed food.

We ordered on a Sunday when clearly they have their C staff working. The amount of rudeness that came thru the phone was unreal. Just placing the order was a task. We usually use seamless but it wasn’t working properly so we called. Bad idea. Food came relatively quickly but they sent the wrong sandwich. When I called back the RUDEST girl maybe in all of Manhattan gave me an attitude. After she tried to convince me that I had gotten the correct wrap,(Mind you, I ordered a tex mex wrap, it’s like a chicken fajita. I got a chicken parm wrap with meatballs. gross) she finally agreed to send it out. After 20 minutes and no food, I called again. Again, Miss. Pleasant gave me an attitude and told me it had been sent out. Ten minutes later, I call again, I get a man who claimed to be the manager, he told me the sandwich had never been sent out and he would send me another one. Mind you, this is about 1 hour with no sandwich. He refuses to comp the order. It’s either we send you another one or you cancel it and we credit you. To my delight after speaking to the manager, my buzzer rang and in came a tex mex wrap. Ten minutes later, another buzzer, and another wrap. Really? So I cannot get one and now I have three? Way to blow your food cost out of the water Muscle Maker Grill. Never again.

It’s been some time since I’ve been«inspired» to write a review. I’m sad to say that my experience this evening provided that inspiration. My wife and I had an AmazonLocal coupon and were excited to go. Wife: «we have an Amazon local coupon» Cashier: «We don’t accept those» Wife: «What do you mean» Cashier: «We don’t accept those anymore» Wife: «Why — It’s not expired» Cashier: [answers phone in the middle of our conversation… 5 minutes pass. Phone call ends] Wife: «Why don’t you take them. I paid for this» Cashier: «Call amazon» Wife: «They are not the ones who are telling me I can’t use it you are. Why would I call them?» Cashier: «Well, they canceled the coupon, so call Amazon» Wife: «What do you mean they canceled it?» Cashier: «They canceled it» Me: «Who canceled it» Cashier: «Management» Wife: «Can I talk to the manager» Cashier«I am the manager» Me: «So you mean, YOU canceled it» Cashier: «We don’t accept them. I’m sorry» Wife: «If you are sorry than you can accept the coupon» Cashier: «No» We leave. Bummer, because we were really looking forward to having a place that we could get reliably healthy food from. Sigh. Hoped dashed. Ended up at Evolution Burger at 6th and 14th — grass fed burgers. Yum!

I order smoothies from here for lunch all the time and I haven’t had one yet that was a disappointment. Be warned though, that they’re big enough for a meal. Both the Strawberry Banana and the Chocolate Peanut Butter are delicious. Of the 2 wraps I’ve tried, one was outstanding and another just okay. The«Yee-ha» wrap is awesome, but the«Santa Fe» left a little to be desired. Overall though, great lunch options for something quick with great customer service.

My God the smoothies are HUGE. There was no way i was going to finish one so i got a wrap instead– chicken ceasar salad wrap. eh. but im sure its so much healthier for me than the tasty drenched-in-dressing chicken ceasar salad wraps Ive had before. id go back to split a smoothie with 5 other people…

Stumbled upon this place while actually looking for a chipotle. My friend and I thought we would try it since he had heard a lot about it. They definitely do a good job of supplying a healthy menu(However I’m curious about the sodium). I ordered the turkey chili and wasn’t happy with it. Everything was good but the meat was grinned up so much it reminded me of Taco Bell’s meat and I just couldn’t stand to eat it. My friend ordered the teriyaki chicken and loved it all.

Good place, if I am in the area I will stop by again. The staff is very friendly and nice, and the place itself is pretty clean. They had a special outside saying 5 dollar burger, so I ordered it and it was nicely sized and a great deal for the price. It was juicy and cooked right, and I wanted a few more but unfortunately that 5 bucks was all I had in my pocket. My friend goes here often and he says their salads are bangin.

Thanks Muscle Maker Grill… You singlehandedly caused the biggest fight my girlfriend and I have had in a year and a half together. We ordered through Seamlessweb… one wrap, one salad, one potato and an order of your chicken nuggets. It took an hour to get here. The potato was missing. I called. Was apologized to and told it would be there in 10 – 15 minutes. 40 minutes later, no potato. I called again, spoke to Michael… was apologized to again and told that the drivers were busy. I asked if they could just deduct the charge for the damned potato and was told they couldn’t because it was a Seamless order. He offered me 50% off my next order. I was annoyed, but thought it was fair. Hung up the phone and GF started screaming at me. Told me I should have demanded the potato, despite the fact that she said she wouldn’t eat it after 10(it was 9:56). Now, she’s in bed, angry and hungry after eating«some wilted lettuce with three croutons» and I’m sleeping on the couch. She told me I can’t use the 50% off because«we’re never ordering from that f*&%ing place again. I guess this is what happens when I try to eat healthy… this sort of thing doesn’t happen when I eat wings, pizza and fries…

This place is OK in my book. It would be tempting to think of it as some gimmicky café that serves bland food to over-pumped meatheads(and let it be known, there are some meatheads in this spot), but that’s not the case at all with the food. It’s actually pretty tasty. At least the stuff we had(wraps, some beans and rice, a potato) was decent. I wasn’t expecting much, but Muscle Maker surprised me in a good way. I like that they have healthy fast food on offer, and I think that more operations should take note. Everyone on staff seems to take the message to heart(and waist line), and they were really friendly. Décor was clean, and modern. It was a little like eating in a gym, though.

We got into MMG regularly when we’re in the mood to feel like we’re being healthy … always order the boneless nuggets, because they’re yummy and purportedly 200 calories. My favorite is the If You Dare Arizona(which is the Arizona with broccoli and jalapenos on top). The staff is extremely friendly. Most of the food on the menu is good and filling … more often then not, the staff(mostly male, mostly muscular — duh!) will try to accomodate your requests for substitutions of the menu. Because theirs is a limited menu of the original MMG location, they have rotating specials on a regular basis and will also recommend dishes that aren’t listed but might be suitable to your palate.

After a grueling yet sensual workout class at my S Factor studio this morning, I decided to reward my body right with a protein shake. My muscles were still sore from my normal weekday class so I knew it was time to fix that. I asked my studio if they knew of any places nearby that served a good protein shake. I was told quizzically«uh… Jamba Juice?» Yeah right girls; juice smoothies with a protein«boost» does not a protein shake make. So what did I do? I went next door to David Barton’s and asked the guy with blazing guns at the front desk if he knew a place. I figured meatheads would be the perfect experts for that question… Lo and behold, I’m told to head to the Muscle Maker Grill on 15th and 8th. Ha, what a name. Muscle Maker. As I walk there I imagine a place filled with juiceheads(also known as meatheads, gorillas, Schwarzeneggers etc.), protein bars and arsenic-laced bottled protein shakes stacked neatly in a masculine refrigerator. Interestingly enough it was NOT like that at all! I kid, but I was actually surprised(in a good way) by the simple yet engaging layout of the restaurant. I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all and was offered a menu to look at as soon as I approached the counter. I decided to go with a Chocolate Banana shake. Yum. The girl at the counter was very helpful and polite as I asked her questions about what kind of protein it was, how much was in there, etc. etc. Overall, paying $ 6.99 is a little steep for a protein shake in my opinion but the cup was huuuuge and it filled me up. It’s 2 hours later and my muscles feel better. Sweet. I am very interested in coming back here again and trying the yummy food other people have reviewed. I freaking love whole wheat pasta. Also I’m hoping to score some eye candy the next time I roll by. There’s much for me to look forward to, obviously.

Do the guys that work here make great eye candy? Yes. Do they know jack about what they’re serving or make good food? No. Can you make everything on the menu by yourself at home? ABSOLUTELY. Another kicker: There was an eyelash in my friend’s side of broccoli. Yuck.

The food is decent here and the servers are really friendly. Almost too friendly. They are all buff guys, for what that’s worth. I go here because they serve stuff with low-glycemic index carbs… as in brown rice instead of white, whole wheat instead of white, etc. They also serve lean meat. Definitely good if you are interested in this kind of diet.
