Review for the juice bar: I was charged $ 16.90 for a $ 10 juice, luckily I saw it on the screen and pointed it out. Asked to go very light on the ginger in my juice. Result, it was all ginger, the taste was so strong it was sickening, you could not taste anything else. Had to throw it out after a few sips because it was so disgusting.

My review is specifically for the brunch. I went here today to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was about 15. of us, and I felt the service was great considering the size of the party. They also didn’t rush us and let us eat in peace. The place is small, but the space felt comfortable. The brunch menu was $ 30 for an entrée and unlimited belinnis for two hours. That’s definitely a good deal for NYC. My issue was with my meal. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was not a fan. My waffle was overlooked and extremely dry. The chicken was advertised on the menu as wing and breast or leg and thigh. I ordered the wing and breast and was told«I would definitely get a wing, but the order could come with a thigh, leg, or breast.» The waiter said she would try to get me a breast. However when the meal came out, I had two thighs and a leg. I guess dark meat and light meat are the same thing on chicken nowadays. The chicken was seasoned nicely, it just wasn’t what I expected. The other food that my friends ordered looked and smelled good. They seemed pleased, so I guess your experience will depend on what you order.

i didn’t like the set up of the seating. Party of 4. Didn’t like the seating process at all, We had to exit then go down the stairs to go to a separate section located on the side, where we were seated. got the menus, waited quite awhile for our server to get back to start taking our orders. The food took awhile. i ordered the vegetable roti, It was pretty good, not too spicy. During the time we ate. our server probably came back to check on us once. By that time we were ready for the bill. For that i take away a star…

i stumbled into Miss Lily’s on a bleak cold Saturday when by Chloe, our original intended brunch spot, was so packed that it was impossible to find where the line even was. When we got to Miss Lily’s, we learned that because the restaurant takes brunch reservations(a rarity) they were booked until 3:30 but we could sit at the bar, which we did. Food wise this was maybe a 2.5, but I’m upping it to 3 because of the festive, unpretentious spring break(it did not feel like we were in the west village). My friend and I each got their scrambled eggs(fine but unremarkable) and split an order of the famous corn, which was overcooked but still pretty good. The coffee was 0-stars, though my friend wondered if it was part of the shtick? In any case, because we skipped cocktails I don’t think we got the full Miss Lily’s experience; I’d return for a specific type of boozy celebratory brunch, but not for the food.

Service was ordinary. They are busy all day but our waitress was nice and didn’t rush is for our check. We sat and ate for about an hr and a half. Great place for some Jamaican brunch! I really like their ready made all natural juices — all of them! It reminded me of a tropical vacation day I had in Jamaica, really yummy! Affordable food — I tried their Ackee(salted fish) with scrambled eggs and a side of collard greens with a sweet bread and tropical sliced fruits. Nicely cooked and very tasty! Ackee is very salty. A little to salty for me but it’s supposed to be. It was really filling, probably really good to share while sharing a sweet dish. Will some back to try other dishes very soon! I will have to change my review rate once I try their oxtail. Oxtail is what I can’t wait to try but they only serve it during dinner.

I had the curry chicken roti and it was spicy flavorful and so similar to indian curry sans the cream. The curry is served in the center of the Roti which makes the roti a bit soggy. I had ordered a carry out through seamless and the delivery was a bit delayed but the food did not disappoint . The only low point was the banana pudding which was very regular and nothing very unique.

Miss Lily’s is such a delight. First off I love the 5 – 10 minute discussion amongst my table, just off the décor. It’s super creative & very cool. They were playing some great oldies & it’s very cozy. Everything on the menu looks & sound delicious, hopefully I get to come back & try the rest. Appetizer — Jerk corn; shrimp; fritters; artichoke & callaoo dip. Let’s say I loved everything. The corn was my fav, seasoned very well & juicy. The a artichoke was everyone favorite. Entrée — steamed fish, it was delicious. The fish was flavored really well & tasted sweet. Not really spicy at all & it was a satisfying portion. All the food was delicious & the atmosphere was great. The service was great as well, our waitress was very courteous & attentive. Oh the drinks, they were pretty good. I had Pon Di Beach, it went really well with my meal & wasn’t too strong. I look forward to trying another dish.

So good. Everything from the juices to the roti to the beef patties are all tasty. The patties are a bit on the expensive side($ 4 each), but they might be worth it considering there aren’t any alternatives for island cuisine in the area. The grilled jerk tofu is also a must try.

I have been here several times, one time for dinner and one time for brunch. Both options are good.

Came here on a Friday evening. Wasn’t packed but wasn’t empty either. However, we did make reservations just in case. This establishment has a bar and a dim/semi noisy atmosphere. You’ll have to speak a little louder than normal to have a conversation. Haven’t had much experience with Caribbean cuisine, so this was pretty new to me. Fish tacos — yeah just got something safe for an appetizer. Comes with two tacos wrapped in deep fried fish, very well made. Jamaican Sampler for two — comes with their signature jerk chicken, oxtail stew, curry goat, rice and beans. Jerk chicken is very tender, looks undercooked but it’s ok, that’s normal, there’s no blood. Oxtail stew is nicely made and I think would go better with regular rice. Curry goat was also nice, but I think the oxtail stew was better.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Made reservations and came here for brunch with 3 friends on a Saturday morning. Ordered chicken and waffles, and I enjoyed it. It didn’t blow me away by any means, but it was solid. The bottomless belinis were really yummy! The issue with this place is the service… We’d ask our waiter for something, and he’d forget like 50% of the time. I don’t know if it’s because he was especially busy at that time, but it was definitely annoying to have to ask the same thing over and over again.

Came here on a Friday night. It was pretty packed so I’m glad we made a reservation. This place offers some great vibes. The music is good, the attitude of the hostess and waitresses are good, and of course the food was as good as expected. We ordered the Jamaican sampler which comes with oxtail, jerks chicken and curry goat with a side of callaloo and rice and peas. All of it was tasty but the oxtail was the favorite in our group of 3. I’ll definitely keep this place in mind when I have a craving for some caribbean cuisine.

Went here on a Friday night. The food was beyond delicious. I wouldn’t call it authentic Jamaican cuisine, it’s more of a contemporary spin on common Jamaican staples. I had the Escoveitch fish which was fried perfectly. Not exactly on par with what I would get visiting actual Hellshire, but good in it’s own right. The festival that came with was a bit undercooked. My dinner mates had the jerk corn, wings and shrimp dish. No complaints there. It’s a cozy spot that filled up quickly, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. One thing that was irksome was the long(and what I viewed as unnecessary) wait to get our drinks. It took at least 20 mins to get our drinks from the bar even though we were one of the first dinner guests there when the restaurant opened for business at 6PM. Nonetheless, this places serves great food and vibes. The music was an added bonus!

Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday around noon. I went in the back. It was quiet. I was originally gonna get halal on 6th Ave, but I’d never seen this place and was intrigued by Caribbean vegan. It seems they just meant that some of their items are vegan. It wasn’t quite clear to me which. The cashier’s recommendation for a large dish that wasn’t too spicy? Curried Chicken. And even though the curry chicken was vibrant, I’m not sure if I’d return for it. It was a bit spicy for me, albeit I tend to have a low tolerance for spice. I was still hungry after the portion I got and it was $ 13; $ 25.05 in total(plus tax) with a bottle of fresh Almond Nut Milk. A tad pricey for lunch. The Almond Nut Milk wasn’t too sweet. It was spicy, creamy, nutty– but not necessarily almondy in flavor. It was OK. I don’t think I’d return for a bottle of that neither.

We made reservations for a Saturday night, but showed up an hour later due to a change of plans. They were able to seat us right away! We ordered the Jamaican Sampler for 2. I really liked the oxtail curry sauce. It was my favorite of the sampler, but was disappointed in the amount of meat on the oxtail pieces. It was mostly fat. The goat curry I liked most next. Good flavor, but again a little skimpy on the meat. The jerk chicken was eh. It didn’t have much flavor, and I was actually dipping it in the oxtail curry sauce. The rice & peas was also bland. And the callaloo lackluster. I hate to give just 2 stars because this place has so much personality, and I also don’t have much experience with Jamaican food, but I just didn’t walk away satisfied.

I didn’t have high expectations for this place, and almost dismissed it as just too cute and trendy for a genuinely good dinner. I ordered a mackerel dish entrée which consisted of 2 pieces of fish on top of cooked, thinly chopped kale and a tasty coconut broth. Finely chopped peppers and onions and a roasted scallions complemented this perfectly. Not too fishy, not too spicy, and really, just perfect. I tasted BF’s jerk pork, which seemed a tamer, less spicy version of the real stuff one can find in Brooklyn. But it wasn’t bad. Ask to get seated in the comfy banquettes in the back room, which has cool handpainted(reggae album covers, what else?) tables, is wallpapered with reggae albums covers, and awash in saturated colors. The loud reggae remixes and the spinning disco ball make it feel more like a club than restaurant.

My absolute favourite Jamaican spot in NYC. The restaurant is so informal, unpretentious, ambience is chill, reggae music playing, friendly authentic Jamaican service. You are wisely informed of your dishes, even recommended on how to best combine your plates with awesome sides. This time I had the jerk chicken which comes with a chutney sauce, rice and beans, corn, and callaloo. I will always keep coming back!

The ambiance is really cool disco, retro style and at the back there’s a «clubish» setting with a disco ball! The service isn’t particularly speedy but the all the ladies are gorgeous and super nice which sort of offsets some of their clear mishaps as far as waiting goes(like taking solid 30min to get water for the table, or dropping one of the sweetener trays on the floor and not picking up the mess it left behind). And on to the food– small, simple menu with some really tasty treats! The jerk chicken was quite generous, ½ chicken portion of smokie, tender and juicy awesomeness that came with a side of rice and beans and all the hot sauce you need to get your mouth really happy. The plantains platter looked really good too and I’m absolutely coming back to get some! The cod fritters were a bit greasy and don’t fool yourself, you’re really NOT eating fish… But again, dip them in that orange hit sauce and they become the perfect pairing for your cold Red Stripe. Now, let’s talk about the star of the meal– the grilled corn. Topped with spiced mayo and coconut and grilled to perfection, this simple appetizer will get your taste buds dancing! It’s absolutely perfect, leaving you longing for more. Bottom line, not your typical sophisticated village joint. The service is def laid back. The menu is super simple and for what it is, not cheap… but if you’re in the mood for some jerk chicken and grilled corn, that’s your joint.

Preislich eher Oberklasse. Loben muss man die Einrichtung. Trendy, aber nicht«too much».
