Came here with family hoping to try the food and drinks. Entered into the bar, asked if they were open. They said they were, asked if we wanted a table or bar seat. We sat ourselves down at one of the tables. We looked over to the waiter/bartender to see if he would come over to introduce himself or bring any menus over to us. The waiter just stared at us for 15 minutes and made no contact. He had no trouble just talking to other customers. We got up and left. Did not get a chance to try the food and drinks here since we were never served. If your place does not have the courtesy to serve us, you don’t deserve our business.

I was hoping for a good wing spot on the upper east side, and I think I’ve found it! Tried their honey bbq wings — chicken was not dry and the outside was not soggy! I can’t wait to try their buffalo wings next time. Burger is pretty decent and they have tater tots, if you don’t feel like fries. The Cobb salad was a surprise — definitely a much bigger portion than I thought, which I was happy about! I love big salads. All of the ingredients in the salad were fresh and the grilled chicken on top was delicious. Only recommendation is maybe have a thinner balsamic dressing? The one I got was so thick it was almost like mayonnaise consistency…

Cleverly named for being the marker of the 17th Mile for the NY Marathon, this place is a hit. First came here to watch some March Madness —(screens everywhere people!) The HH is believe was $ 1 off any drink? —(Don’t quote me) but are affordable regardless. Paired with their Buffalo wings– I was sold. (Have been back a few times for just their wings alone) Was slightly surprised at how nice the interior is — v. clean, and the service has been consistently great. Will definitely continue to return!

Nice bar restaurant in the UES. Called mile 17 as it’s on the 17th mile of the nyc marathon and can be viewed right outside on 1st avenue. Makes for a great marathon party inside. Large space with ample room for groups. Good lighting and large tv’s to watch the game. Had great service from the bartender and waiters during our happy hour. Ordered a wonderful burger with fries. Cooked up great, juicy and full of flavor and went well with my Guiness. Good for happy hours as they have them for hospital workers as well on wednesdays. Great updated bar/restaurant in this neighborhood.

It’s a very low key Irish bar and restaurant. I came here with friends on a Sunday to try out their brunch menu. Service was excellent and we were able to get a table in the back which was very private. It was not crowded at all. I ordered the chicken and waffles. I thought the use of chicken tenders instead of fried chicken was interesting. The waffle was also a little on the soft side. The dish itself was pretty small. Came with both gravy and syrup. Not bad but also not great. My friends got the Eggs Benedict. They thought it was OK. Glad I got to try the place. Reasonably priced, but didn’t blow me away.

First off let me say, the bartenders and Servers here are great and really friendly. I am leaving a 1 star review because I ordered a burger to be delivered from here. Not only was the pricey burger a disgusting blend of questionable meat, the fries were soggy and it was just a big disappointment. I do NOT recommend the burger. AVOID the burger. The Pony Bar next door has a vastly superior burger. The delivery guy who delivered the burger was friendly.

Recently attended a Unilocal event here. Highlights for me include the gluten free chicken strips(what!!!) and bacon wrapped bacon. The goat cheese salad they prepared was amazingly balanced and satisfying. The staff was really accommodating, so much so that they threw the Iowa caucus on. Pretty sure that led to more drinking as everyone seemed shocked with results on both sides! I would return! for bacon with a side of goat cheese and a piece of lettuce. ;)

Mile 17 was a cute and cozy bar. The owner, Ollie is quite energetic and engaged in his business. He spoke with diners throughout the night and has a sense of humor. Mile 17 is decorated nicely and definitely a great place to go for food and drinks. On to the food and drinks! The turkey sliders were hot and fresh, bursting with flavor. They had a pickle on the bottom that was a surprise when you bit into the slider and complimented the turkey slider well. The salmon was also flavored well and was so tender! No knife needed to dig into this heavenly piece of fish that was cooked to perfection. If you like salmon, get the salmon! There was also chicken and beef skewers that came with a peanut sauce. The sauce tasted like a mix of curry and peanut sauce. It was delicious. You can’t go wrong ordering either of those. For the drink, I had a buffalo whiskey. Can’t remember the exact name, but the drink had maple syrup, whiskey, orange bitters. It was quite tasty, if you are a whiskey person.

Yeah I think the kinks have been worked out here. To me, if the numerous tv’s weren’t here, this place would be nice enough to be a chill restaurant. But luckily they are there so I was really digging the fine dining/Irish bar sort of mash-up, replete with a cool Irish owner with a real Irish accent. I came here for a Unilocal event and man were we blown away. I think mostly I enjoyed the food… «bacon wrapped bacon»? Really? You had me with«bacon». I would ignore the earlier, critical reviews because this place is really just getting started. The staff were pretty much as nice and attentive as you’d ever want and if watching sports on the UES at a bar is your thing, welcome to your new home.

Three words. Bacon wrapped bacon. Yes, you read correctly. Bacon wrapped bacon. Good on top of more good with a sauce. I recently attend a Unilocal event where I had the opportunity to sample some fare. If you are a bourbon person, you’ll like the cocktails. I’m more of a cosmo gal, and their’s was just fine and at good price. Mile 17 is a charming and spacious addition to the nabe. The owner, Ollie, is simply adorable; a charming Irish fellow who bursts with pride. The food is excellent. You read above — bacon wrapped bacon. Genius. Other homemade bites include DELICIOUS mozzarella sticks, chicken satay, beef tenderloin, chicken fingers, goat cheese balls(SOYUMMY) and other treats. I recommend Mile 17 as a nice chill place to eat upscale bar food and enjoy strong drinks!

I was fooled by the decent Unilocal reviews. I went with my wife and son on a Sunday afternoon. Staff seemed nice although our young waiter seemed stumped when I asked what beers were on tap and what bread came with my sandwich. I ordered the BLT with avocado. Just a sad sandwich stuffed between 2 pieces of white bread. About 3 pieces of fatty soggy bacon. Thoroughly unsatisfying. My wife ordered the chili which looked like a scoop of chop meet with some beans thrown in. We shared the thai chili wings which were overlooked and dry. They clearly just dump some sauce on them right before they come out. Although in appearance it would seem to be an improvement over recovery room it somehow is way worse. I would never consider eating here again. I don’t really post on Unilocal. But was inspired to by how bad the food was.

Ordered the fried chicken and waffles to go via seamless off their brunch menu. Friend chicken was chicken strips that were thin and oily, waffles were hard and thin — seemed to have only been made with a cornmeal batter– definitely no buttermilk in those! I also ordered the sweet potato fries and they were soggy. Overall very disappointed with the food I received. I would not go back however, when I walked in to pick– up my order, the staff were extremely nice and the place had a good vibe to it. Maybe better for drinks or other dishes but I would stay far away from the fried chicken and waffles. I had to throw it all away and order something else from another restaurant.

I’ve ventured into Mile 17 a few times on off nights, so my review may be skewed by the overly friendly service, but I think this is just how they genuinely treat people at this establishment. I have no experience with what it was like as the Recovery Room, but I’ve been told it is a vast improvement. They have the original exposed brick down most of the bar; combined with the other lighting decisions the vibe is upscale enough to make you feel like eating, but low-key enough to make you feel welcome. I’ve kept my food to standard pub fare(love the tots) and it was solidly served with generous portions. My buddy was bold enough to go with the pork chop and he seemed really happy. The staff(especially Ollie and Niccola) are tremendous and I think they are really concentrating on making this your neighborhood bar. I plan on making it mine.

Popped in last week for lunch, food was great! There seemed to be a few regulars at the bar that the bartender was chatting with. Ended up coming back after a dinner in the neighborhood for a night cap. Everything about this place is right up my alley. It’s popping for a Tuesday night, but managed to grab a seat at the bar, there is trivia happening, which I only wished I knew about earlier. Music is at a good level to still be able to chat with my friends and the bartender got to us before we even got a chance to sit down, even with a full bar! Great atmosphere, great staff, great décor. I’ll definitely be returning.

a vast improvement from the former Recovery Room, but still nothing special. They basically got rid of the pool table, slapped a fresh coat of paint on the walls, and added hipster lighting in mason jars. I’d say it’s an above average Irish style bar… food was decent… service was genuine(Irish accent and all) and friendly. I prefer Pony Bar down the street, but i’d go back again if in the area.

Saw this as a new spot on Unilocal so flagged it to try/Sunday Shepards pie takeout … The one plus is the staff from servers and hostess were very upbeat and friendly and the new owners brightened the place making it more of a casual bar food restaurant than the bar feel it had with the pool table in the front soon as you walked in. But — I was Disappointed with my first experience. The Shepards pie was fair — with no or almost no vegetables. I admit I am a Shepards pie snob and anytime I indulge in fattening high carb comfort food it needs to be exceptional or I feel I’ve gained an inch on my waistline for nothing… This was a wasted inch of Shepards pie .: Also– I realized when I went to pick up my order that this was formerly the Recovery Room, a causal place we’d come for pool, darts and drinks after dinner occasionally on weekends. Besides tv screens, they’ve eliminated all sports bar traces including the pool table and darts. I was disappointed. While the restaurant is more open and more brightly lit than the previous place, all the customers seemed unhappy and unengaged staring at the bar tv screens, not talking. It seemed somber to me. The vibe I saw is likely because of the layout which has tables separated more like a casual restaurant — suitable for more private convo — but not really conducive to being social like a sports bar generally is… Giving this a mixed identity while trying to keep a sports bar vibe it is more of a casual bar food restaurant with only sports on tv screens. I likely wouldn’t go back or get takeout again as the atmosphere/vibe was somber, no pool tables /games to play… and the Shepards pie /bar food selection was mediocre.

A friendly, well appointed bar/restaurant which is more than your typical neighborhood bar. Surprisingly full menu with tasty options all well prepared. Try the blackened salmon which appears on the specials menu with some frequency. Or sit at the bar and watch the game. Destined to be a fixture on the upper east side. You won’t be disappointed!

If I lived in Lenox Hill, this would be my spot! The drinks were strong and they have a great menu — Bacon Wrapped BACON– omg it was delish! They have plenty of big screens to watch the game and plenty of seating to bring a group of friends.

This place is just getting started, they’ve only been open for about a week as I post this. That said they are really nice, personable, and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! It being a newer place I played it safe & ordered a burger which was cooked to exact temp and was awesome. I think I’ll be more adventurous next time. The atmosphere is nice with the music at a loud enough level to hear it while still not having to yell. The décor is a little sparse(so far) but also pleasant. Now, the highlight for me is the the bartender WOULDNOT pour me a Guinness unless it was up to snuff, which it definitely was. As a huge Guinness fan I couldn’t have been more pleased to wait a sec for a near-perfect(by NY standards) pint. I will be back!
