I first contacted this restaurant to make a reservation for a corporate event after a charity walk. They were super friendly and very responsive and told me they can hold the space for Sunday afternoon. I emailed them after finalizing the headcount on my end, which was half the number from what I originally told them, and inquired about the catering options. After telling them my headcount, they emailed back saying they can’t accommodate us because they expect«higher than usual» traffic due to the pre-fixe menu that day. That was rude. We ended up going anyways because that was the closest place to where our walk ended. There was no pre-fixe menu that day. There was also no «high traffic» as many tables were available. The food — I got the Salmon Benedict. The poached eggs were not runny, it was more like soft boiled. The salmon was also cooked. Never have I ever had cooked salmon on my salmon benedict. The one good thing about this restaurant, the waitress was super nice and attentive. I won’t be coming back for the food not will I try to organize an event here in the future.

We came here for a get together for a friend on a Friday night and found plenty of seating, it was 11pm and their kitchen was still open. We ordered their Maxwell burger and Mac & cheese(penne not Mac though), we were very satisfied with the food and the drinks.

Maxwell’s NY Manhattan Tribeca 8:30pm Saturday 16th April 2026 Three Stars If you are expecting anything but mediocre bar food, I would go elsewhere. We came here for a bite before drinking but wasn’t really impressed. I had the chicken pot pie $ 15. It came in a shallow oval ceramic pan with a huge puff pastry top. The inside had fresh cut root vegetables, some shredded chicken, but a very thin white sauce. I am sad that nobody makes a proper chicken pot pie with actual pie crust, thick chunks of chicken, and hearty creamy white sauce. The fish tacos had mangos, tomatoes, and no cabbage. The Maxwell«Burger» was not a burger but a shredded roasted beef sandwich on a hamburger bun. The service was fine, the pricing was a bit over priced. I don’t think I will return for food but it would decent place to drink.

I can’t express enough how great of a time I had at Maxwell’s! I came here on a Saturday night with a huge group of friends after a show and we were in such a mood for good food and drinks. My friends and I decided to share chicken tenders and disco fries while my boyfriend had the quesadillas. Yummmmmmo!!! Disco fries always seemed like a jersey thing but was pleased to see it on the menu. I specifically asked for mozzarella and said no cheddar which probably was the best decision ever. I loved the side of gravy because I was able to dump it all over the fries getting every bit! Chicken tenders were super fresh and juicy for bar food. Like hello. Why not! My BF devoured his quesadillas so quickly so I’m assuming they were delicious! He’s pretty picky so it was approved. Ha! But what really made the overall experience l, awesome, was our bartender, Corey. Such a great personality and super fun! This bar should totally get more of a crowd than it does because of him! Super attentive and he definitely knew how to converse with his guests. At one point, he asked my friends and I what music we wanted to hear and he put it on for us. He knew exactly what we wanted and the entire place jammed to old school hip hop for the rest of the night. Gotta love Biggie, beer, and great bar food!

I would give this place five stars for the great feeling that exists inside, a little less for the food — but I want to say that most of the food is very good and keeps getting better. More on this later. This is a local bar, that brings in a lot of locals — though it sometimes caters to federal employees in the various buildings in the area, and also, a lot of the attorneys who work close by — like myself. It is owned by one of the local firefighters — and incidentally, a lot of the firefighters do come in here. It has a «Cheers» feel to it, where, as a guy that might be a «regular» of this bar — everyone seems to «know your name.» I have been coming here for years — even before the new ownership had it(when it was«Spaghetti Western»). It is a much classier place now, though. They have a full compliment of drinks, and the bartenders can pretty much serve any drink I want. They are always friendly — and the owners always seem to bring on employees that are more relaxed and are never giving any trouble to anyone. Seriously, their bar and wait staff and the management of the bar are simply great people, and that is what, I think, is most important to keep going back anywhere. Getting back to the food — they always have very good specials, and I particularly like the«Chef’s Pasta.» You might want, particularly, to get one of their pasta specials when they are serving cured bacon with it. They have some great food that is in the«Italian food» category, but one reason I would not give the food a «5» rating is because they largely serve«bar food,» and I am not a huge fan of burgers, red meat, fries and nachos while I am there at the end of the day, having a drink. I am one of the people that regularly comes for a meal, which is why I look for their specials of the day — and I find that if its not on the«specials» menu, I won’t enjoy the food as much. Having said that, if you are a fan of what I would call«pub food,» you will like that food very much. Not being a fan of nachos in general, their’s is really very good. In any event, this is a place to keep coming back to, and you will love the atmosphere.

Loved this place! Came here with a group of friends after work and the service was fantastic. We split a bunch of apps and the food came out quickly and was delicious. The atmosphere was great, highly recommend. I will definitely be going back!

This spot was really disappointing. Brought a group of friends here for a work lunch. Pros: Food was ok and one of the waiters was nice. Cons: One of our meals was forgotten, service was extremely slow, food was bland, and the waitresses were barely friendly. They seemed impatient. Therefore, it really wasn’t worth the price either. Although the owner/manager voided the forgotten meal from the order, it wasn’t enough to make up for the awkwardness of messing up our order.

I actually like Maxwell’s, which is why a two star review might be surprising. Maxwell’s is a good two star place though and a neighborhood hang out. We went to Maxwell’s on a Sunday night and it was fairly quiet. We were seated immediately. We ordered the Nachos Nirvana and the Maxwell’s «burger». We didn’t order drinks. Our server was very attentive and nice. A+ for service. The food came out quickly. The nachos came out first. While the portion was huge, they were surprisingly dry. I didn’t really get«chili con carne» of any sort, and the dish had a weird cinnamon-y taste to it that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. I wasn’t a fan of this. The Maxwell’s «burger» was a little better, although we misread the menu and thought this was an actual burger instead of sliced steak. The flavors were all there, but this was VERY hard to eat. We got the gravy and the mayo on the side, and this thing was still falling apart. I resorted to a fork here. All of this being said, it wasn’t a bad experience; the food just wasn’t very good. I would come back to Maxwell’s to grab a snack and sit at the bar, but I probably wouldn’t do dinner here again.

Not a big fan of the bar crowd that’s here during the week — loud, crowded, happy happy happy hour, but on weekends the place calms down and you can get a good meal, decent service, and excellent drinks at a great price.

I loved this place. We stopped in on a Sunday on our way downtown and we couldn’t find a bar anywhere– just happened to spot this place and dropped in for some drinks & football. The service was attentive and friendly, it wasn’t crowded and prices were very fair. Didn’t try the food but as a nice afternoon spot for a drink & football, it was perfect.

The little gem is tucked between the buildings in Tribeca. Typical New York bar feeling, this place has great atmosphere. Excellent services from the Friendly and accommodating staff. The Maxwells burger was deliciously meaty and juicy with Angus steak, red wine gravy, plus a sunny side egg on top. As a plate of potato heaven I ordered the drunkin fries. off the charts!!! Stop by this place you will not regret it.

Came here for lunch and you would think within an hour that you could get a penne a la vodka(pasta/water/sauce) and grilled chicken and a mango grilled chicken sandwich that it would take at least. what 20 mins. tops? /nope ordered at 1215. didn’t get our food until 12:55pm. The manager was accommodating and polite, and honestly I’m never the type to ever be like ‘Can I see the manager’ but waiting over half an hour for food that I know doesn’t take extremely long to prepare is unacceptable. 2 stars cause the food was actually pretty good.

My favorite after work happy-hour spot, I’m a big fan of 5 dollar glasses of wine and the chicken quesadilla is my favorite. Sometimes we get the gravy fries to share. The staff is great, attentive and fast. They are accommodating for big groups, whether you want to sit inside or outside! Thanks for always having us

This place was once spaghetti western. A local Bar vibe with Italian flare. Now it’s more of American bar menu. They have daily specials. I eat here at least once a week since it launched across the street from my office. Ive had the chicken quesadillas which are plentiful and good size, bbq pulled pork sandwich, wings, buffalo chicken sliders. Pasta dishes and even cocktails galore. Sometimes the bartender doubles for waiter. We know on those days the weight will be long to get our order. But major kudos to him for doing two jobs at once. It’s not easy that’s for sure. For the summer they now have outside seating. Come early or expect a wait for lunch. It gets pretty crowded. We usually got with a group of 10 so that big table is always available. I think it needs some good music but other than that I think the place is nice for lunch, dinner and even a non stuffy date place. Haven’t been disappointed yet and look fed to future meals ahead.

It’s a nice place for happy hours. Good food, okay options for beers. I ordered Roasted Organic Chicken Breast and they ran out of chicken so I had to order Penne Aa La Vodka, which was not bad. In all good place for happy hours.

Have eaten here twice whilst on vacation in NYC. The food is not what you’d expect when you walk in and take a seat, it’s beyond expectations! Delicious meals that are really well priced.

Only a short walk from the office, but eons away from the corporate happy hour type. If you’re looking for group happy hour/wristband specials, Maxwell’s will hook you up. You can sit inside at a table, high top bar stools or mosey on over to the covered outdoor seating for some fresh air. Either way, the staff will get your back & you’ll be tipsy & enjoying your evening before you know it.

It’s a fine place for some after work drinking. Seems like the go to place for many of the nearby gov’t workers. Nice mix of blue and white collars. I’d come back for a casual drink.

I have been a few times. The food is good, ingredients fresh and nicely prepared. Last visit I had gotten the veggie wrap w sweet potato fries. The veggies in the wrap were nicely cooked with some tasty dressing. The sweet potatoes were crispy and delicious. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I would return again and recommend to friends.

Hidden gem in Tribeca. The atmosphere is low-key and chill and dark, but it’s not awkward if your group gets loud(which mine did). A bunch of my colleagues and I stopped by here late night on a Thursday after a work event and we had a great time. Eric the bartender was accommodating and down to earth and friendly. We were able to order calamari and sliders late, which was great. Food was delicious. Beers were delicious. All went well. No complaints.
