I love Manley’s! My husband and I sometimes get wine delivered from here (I know) and leave it up to them to pick for us. We give them a type and sometimes a region and they always choose a great bottle of wine within our price range.

Great service and selection! I was sick as a dog and in bad need of some good whiskey to help ease my cough. They were so friendly over the phone. I opened an account and they delivered for free in under 15 minutes

I have shopped in this wine store on and off for twenty plus years but no more! The selection is actually pretty good. The prices are a bit high. I could deal with that. However, one of the sales clerks, David, is really nasty with very bad manners. After experiencing his rudeness, I avoid the store and shop at Wine on Nine instead!

They have a big selection and have been there for a long time.

Terrible service, rude people, terrible wine selection and over-​priced. There are far better alternatives in the neighborhood, try Xavier Wine Co on Little W 12^th for example. Manleys is good if the world is about to end and you’re standing outside their store, might as well buy a bottle of wine then… unfortunately anytime you search wine store in the neighborhood it pops up… don’t be sucked in to the google search.

Pros:
Got my order right, and delivery time was fantastic!
Cons:
I didn’t have cash, so I paid with a credit card over the phone. When the delivery man handed me the receipt to sign, there wasn’t anywhere for me to write in a tip. I wasn’t sure if that meant they only take cash tips, or don’t take tips at all.
Either way, I didn’t have anything to give the guy, who walked away looking very dejected. I felt bad about it too.

Beautiful wine shop, but a recent experience turned me off and I likely won’t go back.
I recently purchased a $ 50 bottle of Petite Sirah. Brought it home and waited a few days to open it. Once it was opened, discovered that the cork was brittle, there was a small amount of wine seeping through the cork, and some residue around the top of the bottle.
I brought it back to Manley’s and was informed that «this is normal and happens often in the shipping of wine». It was clear that the staff (possibly the manager?), wasn’t completely interested in replacing it with a new bottle. After asking a second time to replace it with a new one, I was reluctantly given a new bottle. I asked if it was worth checking under the cap to make sure this second bottle wasn’t also affected, I was told «we can’t replace two bottles». Hmm.
I get it, maybe the wine was fine. Maybe not. In any case, good customer service means replacing a less than perfect product without question. It was unopened, and clearly not what most customers would expect from a $ 50 bottle of wine.
Retailers need to remember what business they are in. Educating customers is important, but making them feel they are in the wrong for returning a less than perfect purchase is not going to create a lasting customer relationship. Replacing it without any questions does.

Small selection of mediocre wines with high price tags — look elsewhere if you can.

Very convenient location, wonderful and helpful staff, plenty of cheap but delicious wines to choose from.

We must admit, the reason why we ended up checking out this place is because the bright but nicely done orange fall décor on the outside of the store really caught our attention. Although not working, check out their little train sets + railroad circling the store.
For a small liquor store, the alcohol selection here seems to be pretty good. We picked up a bottle of wine. The price here is definitely more expensive than the average liquor store in NYC.

great selection of wines, and quite a few portuguese ones. knowledgeable and accommodating staff. You’re not going to find a $ 4.00 bottle, but you can find quite a few in the $ 10+ range, and they’re all tasty. Its in a convenient location, and, best of all, they will deliver (they’ve saved quite a few of my parties).

this is where i’d buy last minute gifts on my way to the houses of some people i know who live in this side of the Village. i think a bottle of wine makes a great gift. salespeople here are helpful and attentive, at least those i’ve dealt with. prices are comparative with other wine stores, i’d like to believe. they don’t really have those really cheap-​priced wines, it seems to me.

Solid liquor store with excellent presentation. Imagine well-​stocked, well-​arranged, well-​lacquered wood shelves with tons of selection. I bought Stoli here, and I suspect it was overpriced, but I don’t buy vodka often enough to have a true sense of whether that’s the case.

clean but «cozy» store layout. Market prices. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good selection of quality international wines.

If you ask anyone who knows my palate what kind of wines I like, you’d probably hear one or all of the following…
«Stephy? Oh yeah, she only likes full bodied, spicy reds, bigger the better.»
«Stephy? Oh I heard she only likes wines that will put her in a choke-​hold. Umm, she may need psychiatric help.»
«Stephy? Bigger the better. She likes man wines, none of those fruity chick varietals. Give her an ass slap in a glass.»
And the beautiful thing is, they’d all be correct which is exactly why I liked Manley’s because they understood all of these descriptive elements and were able to set us up with a nice big red. We also grabbed a bottle of bubbly from Jordan Winery and it was delightful. I would definitely trust the suggestions of the guys here and even though they looked at me like I was a few screws short of a tool box when I asked for the choke-​hold, well, they still did a fine job and my buzz was thankful :)

This is the perfect place to run to when you go to Tartine for the first time and don’t know that it’s BYOB. It’s not an overwhelming selection and I’ve never been super impressed by their service, but it’s handy and they are friendly.

I have been in here a number of times and have always been impressed by the level and knowledge of the service here. They seem to know their stuff, and even know a few nicely obscure things. For instance, as I was paying for my purchase I noticed they sold fifths of applejack. Applejack isn’t something you see that often (oddly enough I had JUST been thinking about applejack earlier in the day). I mentioned it to the guy behind the counter. He said that he had never heard about it until he read Steinbeck. Nice!
I asked him to refresh my memory of what applejack was, and he said it was apple brandy with additional distilled spirits.
As I said, they know their stuff.
