From champagne to liqueurs to wild turkey and Hennessey to vodka and wine, this place has it all. No, really it does. On the most random nights(or mid-afternoons) one can walk in and find everything except the mixers. I’ve bought a little and I’ve, at times, left with something along the line of a case but there is never any judgement, here. They take cash or card and I’ve never had an issue with their service. As a matter of fact, any time I’ve looked even close to tired when walking around with my finds, one of the clerks comes over to relieve my burden. Unexpected touch for a commonplace liquor store located in a, not always snazzy, corner by the train station and watering holes. This is not always as inexpensive as TJ’s down the road can be but you can get thé brands you know and love. Truth is, there is a price range for all types(top shelf or wayyyy below well). Browse to your liver’s desire, and ask questions when in need. Should you not find what you crave on display, ask if there is any in their basement storage.

They are very friendly for a no-frills wine store in NYC. They stay open an hour later then any other place in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, great selection and low prices!

Poor customer service and delivery. I live on the block and after having placed a $ 300 delivery I requested that they exchange 3 Rieslings for any other bottles of wine. They refused to do so and asked that I physically come to the store(when I had guests at my place). I later went back to get my money and they insisted that I had paid for the cheapest bottle of wine and would refuse to give me a like for like exchange. Go to Astor Wines. They deliver and much cheaper and better customer service.

Granted, I think my experience was heavily influenced by the fact that I briskly walked in, denied a free sample of liquor and headed straight to the vodka, causing all of the employees to direct their attention to me. I grunted, grabbed the vodka that looks like a skull(you know what I’m talking about) and made my way to the cashier. I was carded(I still look like a child) and the woman smiled at me in a curt, pleasant way that indicated she was willing to overlook my awkwardness in the situation. Thank you. I grabbed my bag of alcoholic beverage and made my way to the dark, underbelly of Gotham aka Whole Foods. Shout outs to North Village Wine & Liquor for being an easy stop on my quest for food stuffs.

I came in here today looking for liquor to take on a trip to Atlanta in a few days. I think alcohol would be cheaper there but of course I would have to find the liquor store. I saw a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka, 1 liter. With tax it was $ 21.76 which is not bad. The cashier was professional.
