Sushi is good I like it but I love the coco mojito and chinola mojito are honestly the best, best mojito I’ve tasted.

The sushi is always great here. I ordered The original and we also had the calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was kind of bland but the sushi is amazing. I would also recommend the coconut mojitos. The staff isn’t really attentive but the food makes it worth it.

Just another hood restaurant trying to imitate an upscale sushi bar, just go somewhere else. And if you’re Dominican the«Dominican style sushi» its corny and its nothing that isn’t familiar to us already.

Terrible service. After calling ahead of time to ensure a table, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table for 3. We sat and my glass was not clean: it had lipstick stain and overall gross. The wait to even get water before ordering was literally 25 minutes. We then waited another 30 minutes before ordering. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars and not less is because the food was okay. Other than that, I don’t see myself going back.

This is a great twist on traditional sushi. Sushi with a Dominican Spanish twist. I have to say it was very delicious. We had the $ 200 platter that serves like over 10 people and it great. The coconut mojitos are good. Drinks are over priced.

This sushi here is horrendous! Obv the people that run this place have no idea what they are doing! I placed an order for over $ 200 to have picked up for a 1:30 lunch with a doctor and they didn’t even have the decency to open up early and have it ready for me! I mean the open at 1:00pm can you be any more lazy!

Finally had the chance to chk this place out. Service was great, the waiter was very kind and took a moment to give us a run down of the menu. I asked for a spicy roll and he suggested Hot Mama, which I found to be pretty good. It had the spicy kick I was looking for, would recommend if you like spicy food. I can’t remember what my friend ordered(pictured in the back) but she wasn’t too fond of it. We both weren’t blown away by the food, thus the three stars. I’m not sure what it was, but we didn’t think it was«to die for.»

Came here for my friends birthday, the hostess was very unprofessional I asked for a table for four and she asked where was the rest of the people, since they were parking the car. The server was very nice but kept forgetting the lime i asked for which we never received. The sushi platter with more than 5 different platters was amazing. The pitcher of passion fruit mojito was disgusting, it had no flavor at all, It tasted like dirty water. This is not a decent place at all, there was a guy asking money around all the tables for weed, and nothing was done about it. The hookah lady stayed with my credit card fir more than ½ an hour, I had to go and get her around the restaurant. If i ever go back is only because of the sushi, but everything else is not worth it. Second time coming here: I have to say this time it was a completely different atmosphere, the service was great from the host all the way to the waitress. I have to say the food as always is delicious. We had the octopus appetizer and the chicharron, and for the main meal we had the sushi platter with a variety of everything. A completely different experience.

I love the variety and twist they put on sushi… made with some latin ingredients you cant go wrong my two favorite rolls to order is their signature roll Mama sushi and Dyckman. The drinks could be a little stronger but all in all a great place to hang out with family and friends

The sushi was amazing. I love the variety. The appetizers were great I especially loved the skewer trio. That was my favorite. Must try the chinola mojito

Came here a few times after having it recommended by a couple of people, people who obviously have never had good sushi. The sushi here is the equivalent of fast food sushi, the fish is of low quality, you can get better sushi at whole foods. The service is also horrible. The staff is very slow, constantly makes mistakes, and always leaves you wondering if they went on break or finished their shift.

I went last night for my friends birthday. My friend made reservations online and when we got there they told us that the don’t have reservations for less than 6 people and that we had to wait 30 minutes. The food and the drinks were great. I had the jack veneno and chinola monito. I felt like it was overpriced and the tip is automatically included. The waitress gave us the bill before we finished our food and a waiter came up to us asking us to move to the bar because they needed the table. The food was great so I will def go back.

Contrary to other reviews of bad service, I think my family and I were welcomed with open arms at Mami Sushi. The hostess greeted us and sat us at our desired table; our server poured us water and explained the entire menu in Spanish for my parents. I’ve never been to a restaurant that does that. Kudos to them! I love the concept of mixing Latino dishes with Japanese cuisine. My family and I ordered 5 House Rolls and their Grilled Salmon dish. Only thing I didn’t like was that some of our House Rolls included cream cheese; the mix was weird but other than that the food was amazing. The sauce on their Salmon gave it a sweet twist. So good! We ordered a pitcher of their Chinola mojito and it was made to perfection. A pitcher for 4 of us was enough for a little buzz. The venue was clean, décor makes you feel like if you were eating in Midtown, very sleek! I’d highly recommend this place.

We flew in from Miami this morning for the weekend. After visiting with relatives for a little while my brother decided to take us to sushi mambo or mambo sushi for dinner. Thank God when we got there they were not open yet because he then proceeded to take us to MamaSushi instead. Can I say OMG! What an experience! From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a very gracious hostess who was very accommodating and friendly. But the highlight of our experience by far other than the exquisite food was our waiter Malachi. I have been to my fair share of restaurants but I have to say that I have never had better service than I did by Malachi. My brother, my husband and I just adored him. Ok maybe I just adored him but to a minimum my brother and husband loved him, lol! He was super patient and very knowledgable of the menu. I was amazed how he seemed to have it memorized to the point that he could tell us each and ingredient and how each item we inquired about was prepared. I’m usually a little apprehensive when eating at a new restaurant as it could always be hit or miss. I have to glowingly say that each and every menu item that we tried down to my lychee mojito x’s 2 were absolutely on point and exquisite. I just can’t rave enough about the linguini calamari, Tierra and Mar roll, The Original roll, the Tolette roll, shrimp Chofan, and the coconut flan. Again, OMG! Can’t wait to go back their tomorrow with my mom. She will love it too! Thank you Mama Sushi. Keep up the good work!

SIYOESTOYGASTANDOMIDINEROQUELEHACEPENSAR A ELQUEYOVOY A MEDIRMITIEMPO O QUEELLOSTIENESQUEDECIRME A MIENQUETIEMPOTENGOQUEPARARME. Gracias. JAMAS Y NUNCA!

I’ll give mamasushi two stars because I do come here a lot. I love the sushi I like the twist! But mamasushi is way over priced and their service can be terrible. Today I came in here like at 5pm, like to come early to dyckman paying 30 dollars for parking plus a 100+ meal. Yeah, no. Anyway they have the hostess now outside we walk up to the hostess she’s laughing and counting money with some other worker totally ignoring us we felt like idiots so we just walked inside. Inside the waiters just walk pass us til like a worker that was just coming into work off the clock calls the girl from outside over to help us. So she makes us walk back outside just to sit us down I don’t understand why anyway I tell her she was ignoring us we were standing there and she saw us walk inside and didn’t say a word. She’s like no I wasn’t ignoring you sorry it’s my birthday I don’t know how to act today lmao. We are finally sat we had the waiter Oscar I think his name was. It started out fine. I didn’t want to drink neither did my bf so we both got passion fruit juices and two Appetizers. The taco trinitario and the calamari they were both yummy. We got two rolls each the Mexicanos, el soberano and another one I forgot the name. The rolls I always like so the food wasn’t a problem. It was the paying part that was type hilarious and just plan unprofessional. So mamasushi always tries to get 18 percent off of you even if you get the crappiest service because a lot of their waiters are horrible at what they do. Oscar wasn’t bad don’t get me wrong. But when my bf asked him why on a bill of 81 dollars for two people at 5 pm has a gratuity included he said«because we been having problems with this neighborhood tipping us, they don’t want to tip us this neighborhood so the computer just automatically adds it» I wanted to burst out laughing because that was such bullshit. I been at mamasushi plenty of times and they always have some excuse about why they add the 18 for just a party of two. He just disrespected the neighborhood that gives him a job. Anyway Oscar messed up there he could of just said that was a mistake or something else lol. Mamasushi get your customer service up and maybe people wouldn’t mind tipping you 18 percent or more!

Went here with a group of 9 for my Boyfriend’s birthday and literally waited close to 3 hours for a table !!! then when we got our table it was way too crowded for us, at this point i was super annoyed because I didn’t just wait 3 hours to be uncomfortable. So I Asked nicely to be moved to a bigger table & then everything was good but the HOST should do a better job. It was my first time trying sushi(dominican style) and it was delicious. I recommend«La chapiadora» or «El campesino».The drinks are great, food, & our server was very friendly and on point with everything. Overall had a good time. Tips: Gratuity included, don’t really have to dress up, No reservations on weekends, not too expensive. OH& hookah.

I am updating my review because my first one was for mama sushi prior to renovations. I have been to the current establishment twice. Food: Same as previous reviews; pretty good if you are open to fusion food. This last time I have the 5 tigres and it was quite yummy. If you go with various people the best thing to do is for everyone to order a different roll dish and share with each other. We also tried the calamari which seems to be better than the first time I tried it pre-renovations. I recommend you try to Chinola(passion fruit) drink, it is just so so good! Service: It sucks that you cannot make reservations on the weekends. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. With that said, one of the hostess is extremely rude. Not the petite one, but the one that is curvier, darker skin with dimples. She is plain rude and lacks customer service skills. My friend had similar issue with her on a previous occasion. I recommend the manager gives her a personality makeover. The service can be a bit slow during the weekends. Other than this, if you have not try it, why no?; It is not every day you get to try Latin Sushi.

I love that they have the traditional sushi and Latin/Spanish inspired sushi! Latin/Spanish sushi is different, in a good way! Mojito was very good, calamari was Delish. Service was ok. Would come again…
